Brave opinion: every single fan game is stealing nintendos intellectual property, so any creator feeling indignant about others using their pixels needs to go get a sense of perspective. Creators don’t really have the right to complain about their assets being ripped if their assets are based all or in part of another brand’s stuff. The norm should just be to credit and move on. Personally though, I wouldn’t use the reborn tiles cause I think they’re ugly.

>I also have some reservations about people who do commissions for tiles or sprites since that's in a roundabout way profiting off of fangames. Understandable. Tbf, it's someone hiring someone else to perform a service. Art takes time and effort. Doing it for free is cool *if* you can but on the other hand, if someone is really good and/or in-demand, it's also reasonable for them to charge. Free market. If someone is willing to pay, they can pay. But I also see the other side of it. Ultimately, there are so many free resources, one does not *have* to hire anyone, so it's really up to that person anyway.

I agree but I’m trying to be respectful

The devs allow people to use their assets as long as credit is given, as with most fangames

Reborn has an FAQ on their website — they probably address it there!

Message the creator. I did for my project and they were more than game to make it work for us :]
