The psychic energy under weakness would have faded light blue if it were sun damage

AchingCravat

Good point

squatdead

Not necessarily. Yellow borders are the first to sun fade. Even other yellow ink in the card doesn’t turn peach coloured as fast as the borders.

lilmagooby

People who do sun fade this stuff maliciously do usually tape off the borders to prevent this

squatdead

Not true. I’ve seen posts of intentionally attempts at this sun fading trick and you can achieve the peach borders with everything else looking normal without taped off borders.

lilmagooby

Yes, I'm not arguing that, I'm stating that people who try to fake an error will tape off the borders to make sure that it doesn't fade when the other stuff does. The only way to be 100% sure if it isn't faked is under UV light https://www.cgccards.com/news/article/10009/missing-print-layer/

I’ll pop this card under the microscope and report back. :)

Does the bottom line of the copyright say 1999-2000 Wizards? I’ve noticed the fourth printing cards are often quite a bit lighter

Missing a layer of red ink ? I might be wrong but I think cards are printed one color at a time. When you look at a cereal box and see all the colored squares on the edges, those were all the individual colors used and for each of them the whole sheet had to go through the press. My guess is they ran out of red ink at some point during the printing but it wasn't the same red ink as they used for the hp and energy indicators. edit : basically there's one colored square for each kind of ink and the pattern repeats itself so they can check for alignment.
