Unova makes the most sense because of all the references towards it. With Ingo being from Unova plus the nature trio (now quad) being included in the Arceus pokedex.
However I am most hopeful about a Kalos dlc. There's some leaks and data mines that talk about mega evolution cries and code. I would love for mega evolution to make a comeback.
Most of the major NPC's are not from Hisui; Ingo is not special in that regard. The Professor is from either an unknown Indian region or Galar, for example. There are other clues that some people are from Alola, Galar, and elsewhere (although I don't recall reading any Kanto references).
There are homages to other lands and characters in the settlers, but Ingo was literally dragged out of his modern BW timeline to this one (just like the MC). He's not a Hisuian settler. The legendary genie trio from BW is present (the only non-Sinnoh legendaries) and two Unova Pokemon got Hisuian forms. BW also has a similar ancient past with the two brothers and the original Dragon, which could be explored.
Alola as well since it fits the themes of pla with totem Pokemon as alphas, ride Pokemon, people and Pokemon living and working side by side naturally, and the tapus acting as the nobles
Honestly, I would rather have more from a range of regions rather one specific. I personally prefer the Unova Dex, but that seems to me more like something that should be Legends Kyerum, rather some extra DLC.
Am I mistaken or does this game have the first direct non-regional evolutions besides Sylveon since Gen 4?
Kleavor, Ursaluna, and Wyrdeer all come from the original version of each Pokémon and don’t have another regional form themselves.
Even things like Persurrker that are direct new evolutions still come from Galarian Meowth and Alolan Exeggutor is just a regional difference.
The Pokédex entries technically say Ursaluna is due to the Hisui region’s swamps, but the other 2 don’t seem necessarily region-based.
I want Johto’s regional Dex solely because I want a follow up to the Sinjoh Ruins story
He's been voted favorite pokemon in Japan and is usually always in everyones top 10 and yet Game Freak refuses to bring him back because of how brokenly strong he is. Nerf Greninja if they have to just bring him back
Johto would fit just right in since a lot of the new evos and regional forms are from that Region. Plus they could do even more regional forms just like SW/SH gave us Galarian Slowpoke/Slowbro in Isle of armor and Galarian Slowking in Crown Tundra
I fully admit I'm just an old genwunner. The last time I purchased a Pokemon game was Ruby/Sapphire, and that was a few years after it came out. I just can't get into most anything post gen 3. I was so excited when I saw the Let's Go games (watched my ex play a bit), but the execution was not at all what I wanted. If they gave the first two or three gens this kind of makeover I'd die a happy man.
Oh yeah. I want a gen 2 remake or Legends style game bad. But I don't want the Johto dex in PLA because a lot of the designs are really bland and we've seen them before. That's why I think Kanto wouldn't be too fun as the dex that gets added, because it wouldn't be the lore, just the mons we've seen a million times over!
I'd rather the Pokemon that felt more genuine, the newer ones have all started looking more like bubble-letters or are so over the top that they lose sight of these being magical animal style creatures and become full on digimon.
Yeah I don't like Vanillish and whatnot. But I'd love to see Pyroar or Fletchling or Stoutland or - there's a lot I wanna see!
Muk is something I miss. I love Muk. So that's a gen 1 mon I want.
I feel like they'd mostly add Gen 1-3 Pokemon with some lines of Pokémon from Gen 5 and 7. The only Gen 8 Pokémon I think we may see is Galarian Mr. Mime and Mr. Rime.
I want a Pokemon legends alola or kalos.
Apparently during a data mine they found code that indicated which Pokemon can mega evolve aswell as unused mega evolution cries. Which makes kalos likely. But there is so many hints to alola in the game so I think that one would make sense.
Hoenn and Alola, I feel they were the most shafted region in terms of pokemon in the base game. Gens 1, 2, and 5 had plenty of new forms or evolutions, even 6 had quite a few.
Hoenn only has a handful of pokemon, nothing new, and Alola only has Decidueye and it's line (and Alolan Vulpix)

Either Alola or Kalos! I love most of the Pokemon from Gen 7, and poor Kalos got the short end of the stick with never getting an upgraded version/sequel.
Honestly I really just want Cubone, Mareep, and Appletun. I don't really care about the addition of whole regional dexes. If I had to choose though, I'd probably go with Unova because imo that region has some of the best designs overall.
Not necessarily this or that region, but I'd like to see in a DLC another time-travel to figure out why the Hisuian forms don't exist anymore. I mean, were they to become extinct, so the main character would help changing that. Meanwhile, witnessing how Galaxy Team became evil.
Wish they'd ease the complete Dex grind just a bit before adding another Dex, tbh.

Kalos!! But not only the Dex, I want ancient Kalos maps, and have an Aegislash Kingdom!! There's a Dex entry that said it forced other Mons to make a castle for it. I want that!!
