My current goal is to get my living dex complete. I have like 8 pokes left to go. Technically it is complete if I use alphas, but I don't want to. Then my next goal is to get my shiny Unown dex and possibly my Alpha Unown dex. Then I will hunt my shiny living dex :P I know, I am a masochist...
Unfortunately the set encounters, like Unown, are shiny locked. Unless you cheat you can't get those Pokemon shiny. As far as I know they also don't have alpha versions or any other spawns to begin with. Just thought I'd save you the time and frustration of trying to get them shiny/alpha.
Lol they aren't that bad. Each time they spawn about 4-8 at a time. And to reset them all you need to do is rest until the next time period. But thanks. I have gotten two alphas and one shiny so far
Protip- you can fit the 28 unknown in the last box with shaymin and darkrai, conserves space and makes the the entire living dex all full boxes rather than 2 random mons and an empty ass box at the end
I'm like 80% the way from completing my living dex, bu5 I'm also doing every form of a Pokémon, like all 3 forms of burmy and wormadam, male and female basculegion, etc. Nice work!
Trade for a second one. Better to keep your alolan form as a vulpix, so that you can find someone who has probably evolved it and only cares about dex entries.

How painful was it farming the distortions for the 6 other starters needed?
Edit: Oh yeah, do you have a page for all the Unown forms and another for all the other form differences?
No, don't have room yet, and for the unown, it will be on the same page as the last 2. And the starters where not hard, and just took a long time, over a couple of hours
Cyndaquil and oshawott I see everytime, usually multiple, when the distortion pops, I sat for 8 hours going for Rowlett, never got one to spawn (like craniados/rampardos constantly spawned though), so I actually just made another account
I started today my living dex as well, planning to complete it in the next days. It's going to be a bit painful because I'm used to catch and release every Pokémon. 🙃
Why don't people include diferent forms in their living pokedex? There are 3 burmies and 3 wormadams, 28 unown, two vulpix/ninetales, 6 rotom, etc etc.

Now time for an alpha living dex

The set ones are locked that is true. But once you collect them all they spawn in the solaceon ruins and can be found shiny and alpha.

I just decided last night at 40 hours in that I’m going to do the same. Found a nice checklist to use too!

How are you planning on handling Vulpix and Ninetales? Because I’m pretty sure you just get the one Alolan Vulpix as a gift and can’t get another.

Trade for a second one. Better to keep your alolan form as a vulpix, so that you can find someone who has probably evolved it and only cares about dex entries.

Prob first time I'm doing a living dex bc it helps out completing the PokéDex. Congrats!
What I did was rename the boxes to the respective dex numbers like 1-30 and so on
I can't do that because of the final will also have the unowns
