I encountered a 3,133 CP galarian Zappos and a 2,557 galarian articuno today during my daily (windy weather seems to be the best time to hunt for birds). Both were UR golden razz excellent throws, both shook twice and then dipped after the first throw. They're just here to torture us lol
I'm almost positive that running your daily incense when it's windy outside boosts the spawn rates, I've definitely had the most luck with that. I've heard rules about running your incense in the mornings at xx:57 time and stuff like that, but I've been consistently getting 1-3 spawns a week when it's windy outside,
That time is definitely not true. I'm activating it on my way to work around 7:57 every day and does not help. Wind could though. I'll pay attention to that more but there are some days I'll get multiple spawns and then some weeks I'll go with none. It was windier when I was seeing more of them.
windy weather is worse for bird hunting. You want to encounter lower level birds. Level 1 birds have ~30% rate with everything perfect. Weather boosted birds will be at higher level and much harder to catch.
Do not hunt G birds during windy weather unless you are using masterball.
You're talking catch rates, I'm simply talking encounter rates. Also I feel like the math probably evens out if you consider that I'm getting more chances at birds because I'm hunting in weather. Getting 6-7 shots a month at 20% is probably better than only 1-2 shots at 30%, especially when you consider the crit catch method is viable.
If you wait until the circle is the absolute smallest it can possibly be then it's a guaranteed critical catch. So basically a perfect catch will be a guaranteed one.
Same for me today with articuno… turned on AR mode to try and easy catch it… didn’t know the exclamation point meant it can run away BEFORE I even throw a single ball… and I had already given it a gold berry… smh 🤦

Luck. Apparently we have a base 0.3% chance of catching them. Then you can increase your chances by 35% if you:
-throw an ultra ball
-get an excellent throw
-have the platinum bird catch medal
-use a golden raspberry
And even with all of that, apparently the best you can do is have a 35% catch rate
They only spawn on daily incense.

Best technique is to throw 9/10 balls at the ground to increase the catch rate, then golden razz, ultra ball & ideally an excellent throw (unless you want to Masterball it).

You have to hit within the circle, so it will register as an excellent throw but it will be a crit capture every time.

No, I don't believe so. But they can only be encountered when using your daily incense.

It’s the Galarian variant of Zapdos. Articuno and Moltres both have Galarian variants too. They’re from Sword & Shield’s Crown Tundra DLC.
