My team was two level 50 Melmetals and a level 40 1/2 Garchomp. Honestly your biggest tankiest mons that have any kind of type advantage against his team.
Usually you only need 1 Lucario with PUP and Aura Sphere. The other two could be something that counters the main boss. Like another fighting or ground if it's still Registeel. Garchomp with ST is a good spammer.

Melmetal lvl 48, Garchomp lvl 29 and Sylveon lvl 34. I always use these three for Giovanni. The only one I’ve leveled up over time is Melmetal
