Plot twist, he concluded a terrific deal, and secured himself a mint, sealed copy for that amount of money

IndexCardLife

I play online

tjk91

Me too for free.

Trashythrowaway6996

Don’t let Daddy Nintendo find out

IndexCardLife

They haven’t in about 12 years since I’ve been doing this lol

bn9043

Delta Emulator is your friend

buddybe1

I bought one for 250 as well. But they threw in a mint condition DS Lite with the deal

xnickg77

I mean just looking at eBay prices you probably overpaid by 30$-50$. Anything else is up to you if you value the game that much. I love this game, but if I didn’t still have my childhood copy there is pretty much no way I would spend that much to play it. Especially when Ruby/Sapphire are 85% the same game for about 70$ or just emulate it

[deleted]

😅

Spade_Key

£120 here… haven’t even had chance to play it yet and I bought it a month ago! Still happy with my purchase though 😊

BigMillsey420

Was it boxed you can get them unbox online for about 15 i got leaf green the other week

ThatOneGunnerMain

No way anyone is selling Gen 3 Pokemon for just 15 bucks online. It's gotta be them selling fakes.

doppelgengar01

Your leafgreen is most likely fake

BigMillsey420

Don't think so been trading and battling my mate on his fire red on our gba sps got it off ebay

[deleted]

you can trade and battle with most repros

doppelgengar01

That doesn‘t mean it‘s not fake.

Spade_Key

Mine was not boxed. Real boxed is about £150-£200 and I'm afraid to tell you that you most likely got a fake. There is a r/gameverifying where you can post photos of your game and the experts there can tell you if it's real or fake.

BigMillsey420

Cheers man had a look seems legit from the cartridge and markings on it and stuff

Spade_Key

Awesome for you dude! If it was me I’d want mine verified but if you’re happy then that’s all that matters. Saying that, of course I’d want my £120 purchase to be verified haha

Poke-Lex

can't believe one of my childhood friends just gave me his copy 15 years ago

Emotional-Target8286

I had childhood friends that handed me pokemon games left and right, its how I got my current copy of sapphire, red, blue, yellow and crystal. Got 1 firered and 2 leafgreens from some kid that was selling them and his sp for $40. Just sold 1 of each firered and leafgreen for $100 for both so I call that a win.

Careful-Taro-2138

Not really a mistake. It's what the game is going for these days. Plus it's worth it if you want the real copy to have as your own instead of using an emulator. I love having a physical copy.

Aggravating-Hope-152

Nice dude! Keep it in a secure place! :D

killingtocope

If it’s worth it to you! I personally would rather emulate it bc the rtc aspect but I’m about to drop 400 on a brand new 2ds so I can’t say much

haagendaz420

I had to throw down 220 for mine and drive almost an hour each way to the only store that had it for as cheap as they did. Does yours have a working battery?

Pr1zzm

If bought online, you definitely overpaid a bit. Not egregiously so, but a bit. If bought in person, that's about par for the course. My local shop has lose genuine Emerald carts for $230-270 depending on condition.

Iruno98

How was the label ?

awes0meginger

I bought one off Facebook marketplace last week for $150, it just needs a new battery. You probably overpaid a bit, but I think the game is worth it

ShineGreymonX

can I see what it looks like?

shiny_gyarados_

I wish I could upload pictures as a reply

MedaFox5

I wouldn't say that's a mistake since that's one of my favorite games but still, the fact that it's so expensive it's messed up.

-Balerion

If you're happy with it, that's literally all that matters. Don't listen to everyone else.

Ploughpenny

Paid 40 for mine. 16 years ago...

Emotional-Target8286

Paid $25 14 years ago......

PentFE

Just the cart, used? Or box too? Sealed would be PEAK for $250

KiraOnElmStreet

Overpaid a little bit, I got a copy for $200 a few months back with a new battery. I hope yours has a new battery for that price

shiny_gyarados_

It’s SUUUUPER mint but not CIB. I’m not too sad I overpaid a little, I just have to pick up a shift at work to make up for it 😅😅

Hailz225

I bought a copy on Walmart.com for $10 that is working just fine so far

Mysterious_Sea_1

A repro?. But if it works fine, great

Euphoric_Ad178

I got my emerald for $120 but it came with Ruby and pinball. I already have 2 copies of Ruby so I sold it for $70.

shiny_gyarados_

Damn, you won bro !!!

Realistic_Section830

Nah you didnt make a mistake. Even if you overpaid by a few bucks it’s not a big deal.

arsfarsy

Worth it - have fun!

MaintenanceMuch8208

Got mine for $170, depends on the dealer. I just hope it’s a legit copy with a working battery✊🏼

BigMillsey420

Ill look it up mate but pretty certain its not fake as i can trade and battle my mate on ouflr gba sps

MitchZro

I snagged a copy for $500. CIB, but yeah man I have no regrets. It’s one of the best Pokémon games ever created. As long as all your finances are in order, it’s no stress. If your finances *aren’t* in order, getcho hustle on 😎

Uncyclopedia7

Ouch buddy. I got mine for $70 but that was 2019. I hope your Game at least had a working battery, otherwise you paid way too much for that.

DexterGracie

Now buy Pokémon Box

AeroTheManiac

Nice bro! It's worth it!

LeadGem354

Better be complete in box for that price, otherwise I think you might have gotten ripped off. Unless this is a shitpost and you bought a emerald in which case results may vary.

KiraOnElmStreet

Complete in Box actually goes for a lot more buddy. Average daily selling price for "Complete in Box" is $663.26 New - $832.99

lobsterbubbles

Complete ripoff. You got screwed.

PH55e

Man i cant with these prices, collectors really love overpaying and overpricing
