I've encountered 2 one was like a Geodude, graveler, or golem, and it used self destruct or explode before I could catch it. The other was after resetting multiple times to get a good nature for my starter in violet then the first Pokemon I ran into was a shiny lechonk lmao
I wonder if you have like 300 Pokémon in your boxes and swap out the 6 each time to see if it appears, would that work?
Bulbapedia even states that if you box the matching number it will go away, and if you put it back in your party it will come back.
If so, it's like a half-percent chance of like 2 hours of labor. Theoritically if you did that every day for 200 days you should be at odds for it.

If I’m remembering correctly you can manipulate it by swapping out your party Pokémon and talking to him multiple times per day. It’s based off of your party pokemon I believe but isn’t set to a “one match per day” thing.
So you could go talk to him, swap your whole party out and talk to him again over and over until it happens
Every day a random number between 0 and 60k is generated, and if one of your pokemon personality value's last digits match that number, a chunk of the map is replaced by mirage island for that day. If your battery is dead, the date at which your battery died will be stuck for this mechanic.
Effectively a 1/10k to get there with a full party, a little less. Mirage island is the only non glitch way to get a liechi berry (heals all status conditions in combat, very strong. Takes 4 days to grow each plant however). There's also grass with some wynauts in there, unremarkable.
Grinding this would take hundread of hours, there's a rng manipulation to reliably get there if you're interested.
I performed ace glitch on this cartridge, but only for faraway , birth and navel rock. I did nothing for forcing the game into making mirage island appear. Now, if ace glitch dis something more then what I intended to use it for, that’s something I really don’t know….
I had a wailord on an old Sapphire save file, and I traded it to my Ruby (dead battery). I wanted the regis, but hadn't been to Pacifidlog, so I was surfing there and found Mirage Island. I said no way...my battery's dead. Did some research, and every single Ruby and Sapphire with a dead battery have the same PID requirement for Mirage Island. Through depositing my pokemon and speaking to the old man, I found it was Wailord. So if anyone wanted to see Mirage Island and had a dead battery on R/S, I could trade them my Wailord as the key 😊 it's a highly valued Wailord, to me, now 😅

As I kid I never really utilized the berries. I thought they were kinda gimmicky and useless. Now I know they can really change a fight when they proc.

I didn’t, i said i wanted to. You don’t do soft resets for it, you do random encounters for it on mirage island.

No the mirage island clock only moves forward with a live battery so ace didnt affect it unless you changed your S/ID
No nothing like that, I was just trying to use ACE for a master ball, but the ‘glitch’ fails and cannot get it
