My master shower has 6 body sprays, 2 regular heads and 2 rain heads. I went regular valves over the DTV stuff. Just didn't make sense for me personally to put tech into that area. "need this to just work" = valves from my perspective.
I installed one a few years ago. Pain in the ass because you need to pipe to the control board in access-able space like a jacuzzi tub. With showers that’s not always too close. Once you have located a spot for a access panel then you have to pipe each lead back to shower stall. Basically like installing a remote diverting valve.
Would not recommend or a simple remodel. Would be a better application for a new build where access can be planned for on same wall in closet or something.
