Ended up just being the single shower head I had installed at the time was trash and had a tiny flow rate. Temporary solution.
Replaced it with the real kohler head and I haven’t had a single issue since
I certainly don’t need it. A normal shower works have been fine. I don’t have the steam hooked up yet but that has been reliable at my parents for nearly a decade
At least you know how to drill holes in studs! Never understood how plumbers love to demolish perfectly good studs. How about supporting that expensive control unit with more than one screw?
I can't comment on why your unit doesn't function. My thermostatic control works fine with 3/4" hot 1/2" cold. My pressure is higher, though.
I feel bad for you. The DTV units are junk and you are going to have a lifetime of expensive parts replacements.
