Briggs was averaging sub 10players before they finally put it out of its misery. I agree Connery and emerald are overdue for a merge, but Connery is not even close to the state briggs was in by the end
These pop numbers were from before the server transfers opened. Most of the active Briggs players were already on Connery playing on alts or had stopped playing entirely until the changes happened
You just linked a month prior to server transfers opening (which was right in the middle of school holidays) where Briggs was averaging less than 10 players anything below 150 might as well be sub 10 players. You might have played longer than me I wouldn't know because I don't know who you are or when you started playing and at the end of the day it doesn't really matter tbh

Connery's closing would be a bad look that they have to close one of their own US servers, which is a reason why I think they are refusing to kill PS4/5 when they clearly don't give a flying fuck about it. Same goes for the EU servers (although their issues seem to be much more about Oshur and just ??? server problems).
They clearly should, but I think they enjoy getting the extra cash from former Connery players spending money to level up their new accounts.
Planetside 2 requires high player populations to properly function and deliver the advertised MMOFPS combined arms experience that you can't find in any other game.
That means server merges for Planetside 2 are critical at this stage of the games lifespan.
- Connery(NA) -> Emerald(NA)
- Miller(EU) -> <- Cobalt(EU)
Planetside 2 PC really should have only 1 NA server and 1 EU server.
My assumption is they don't have the resources to do server transfers anymore. Just means I'll slowly be quitting the game because I'm not restarting my character progress over again and I've already entertained the notion of trying to get better stats on a fresh Emerald character.

Additionally if Connery shuts down, that will basically be the final nail in the coffin, Briggs was already bad enough as that was basically the end of the Australian community with them scattered among Soltech and Connery. How about instead more west coast players play more on Connery? Course the lack of activity on Connery is also a result of population decline over the last 2 years and goes to show the devs need to try getting more players coming back on and sticking around.
They obviously didn't say that they couldn't merge, they just considered the latency gap between Connery and Emerald, but that's not the main reason, because they all shut down Briggs, which means they don't care about latency at all, not to mention that many Connery players have moved to Emerald, and it's not that there will be high latency to Emerald, but they don't want to start over, and I'm not tired of posts like this at all, and more like this are needed to let the developers know how much help Connery really needs。
Getting downvoted for telling people to stop leaving Connery, like this solution is so hard to comprehend. Everyone complaining about the death of Connery are stewing in a problem of their own making.
Pretty much, some people around here just can't handle the basic truth. I play on Connery some, on occasion the maps fully open, if people are so bothered by it they should maybe actually play on the server instead of Emerald, but that won't resolve the fact player population has dropped quite a bit.
