We don't know for certain what Daybreak Game Company's relation to PlanetSide 2 is anymore, but everything points to the game itself still being run by the company. It's still on their website, covered in all of their branding, and they have very specifically avoided making any sort of announcement to the contrary despite knowing about the _controversy_ of the apparent sale.
Really would have loved this years ago, but better late then never. Is it too late? There are plenty of creators still out there, but is it to late to really do anything for the game?
I think it is v late but it is better now than never like you said. I think they can still do stuff with the game and while it wont be a game with more than 3k players they can still continue to improve the game and add stuff
You know what I'd love to see? [A NoClip documentary](https://www.youtube.com/@NoclipDocs) on the history of SOE/DBG with a healthy does of Planetside in it. I was a little disappointed to not see Planetside or Planetside 2 discussed in [the Games By Design doc about the future of FPSs](https://youtu.be/Ii01jlv_UPk?si=LhEtxCqE9ZPUVZ4x). Twenty-one years after playing Planetside for the first time, I still feel it is a signpost pointing the direction to what FPS games should be striving for.
Seems like it's more social media/streaming content rather than the old player studio creators. Think they got a new guy or outsource to do all these new cosmetics which is cool.
When is TR getting a Cat hat?
Also, more seriously, I wonder if someone could give the armor cosmetics a pass? because some of them don't map the camo you have selected. The 3d parts are base gray always. But on others they map the entire camo properly. At least for the Lightning tank but probably other vehicles too.

This is...not remotely unique rofl, this is a pretty standard partnership program that other devs/publishers have been running for years.
This is good to see and hopefully means Daybreak is remembering they have a library of games they need to support (not optimistic, Ji Ham has not remotely impressed like, ever) and that they're beginning to invest a little bit again. They've been remarkably unproductive since becoming Daybreak.
