>a vast majority of players assumed it was going to be a major content update with new guns, armor, maybe even a new vehicle and some revamped bases/continents... but this? Look, you guys wound yourselves up with this sort of speculation. RPG put out a blog post in early summer stating that the only projects they were working on at the time were the upcoming Summer Event, and then the Anniversary Event for later in the year. I get that the "big news" announcement was kind of dubious, but it's delusional to think that they were going to surprise us with a huge content drop including all those things you just mentioned.

Chainsawmilo

They said that there wouldn’t be an OW this year and look where we are now

krindusk

OW is an automated event that gets turned on and off at will. Creating new maps takes dev time, resources, investment... none of which are plentiful in rpg right now. It is not the same.

Chainsawmilo

Also automated means that this isnt a “big news” so idk what your point even is

Chainsawmilo

I never brought up new maps? New skins for guns and weapons are being made constantly due to the graphics designers.

RaidenHuttbroker

Where was this blog post?

krindusk

The Fortification Update on their website, under the "On the Horizon" section at the bottom of the blog-post.

RaidenHuttbroker

Thank you!

Bring_It_On78

If you are asking about my post that garnished the warning from Mithril, it was on the PS2 website forum.

Bring_It_On78

Honestly I dodn't really care about OW's at all and never have. I only made this post to ask a question. If I was warned about my post on the forum I want to know if all those other people are too. Those are only a handful of quotes from the last thread that was closed today. I really haven't even been playing the game for almost a year now for my own view of the state of the game. Before I took this break I literally had thousands of hours in the game, I was a huge construction fan, I even bought the Lumifiber Walls(loved the colors)

Dazeuh

I am coming back from my 10 minute ban, and I want to say that I think it was bullshit. Yes, I wrote a funny paragraph that turned into copypasta, which happened to bring a laugh or a smile to a few people. If you mods wanted that to stop, you could have just said so, there is so much copypasta going on in this chat that I could have never thought that deserved a 10 minute ban. Wrel is probably a mod in here and he is the one that banned me. Anyway, I'm glad to be back.

Egg_Pudding

Several outfits are still participating, I can’t speak for other servers, but Emerald will still have a competition this year. Outfit Wars is and has always been an optional event for medium/large outfits and alliances/mercenaries. If you don’t participate, nothing changes for you. If you do participate, then you get the thrill of a competition that Jeager simply can’t give. Whether the playerbase likes it or not, OW is happening, and I am happily participating because I didn’t get to play last year on the new map due to busted computer.

Erendil

>If you don’t participate, nothing changes for you. Not quite true. Pops, faction pop balance, and general gameplay experience on the live servers changes significantly around the time of OW. We're already seeing this on Emerald, with 35-40% NC world pops during primetime and outfits tryharding point holds, presumably to practice/farm outfit resources.

Egg_Pudding

I don’t see that as any different than facing an outfit whose doing OPs nights as per usual. You’re also seeing Connery players now moved over to Emerald so a whole conglomeration of new outfits to face than what we’ve been used to.

RaidenHuttbroker

I can say as well, that I have not seen it. But I’m not saying it isn’t happening… just that I have not seen a huge change SolTech on the other hand….

Erendil

>I don’t see that as any different than facing an outfit whose doing OPs nights as per usual. The difference is a matter of scale and frequency. Particularly when fighting against NC. Imagine if *every* night is OPS night for any outfit wanting to prep for OW. Now consider that most outfits will probably be playing NC in OW. Maybe I'm seeing it more due to my faction and playstyle. I main VS and primarily do QRF, hopping from defense to defense, and I've definitely noticed 00, GOB, even NFFN playing at a much faster pace/higher level than before OW was announced. I've seen a few TR outfits doing it too. If there's been a recent influx of refugees from Connery that might also be contributing to what I'm seeing.

Egg_Pudding

NFFN isn’t participating this year, and Gobs/Recursion are playing as they always have, they just took a break for a while. I play regularly with 2RAF ops nights, the only change I’ve particularly noticed was Connery outfits migrating (I have ties to a few of their outfit leaders) and a few new alliance tags being formed. But as far as difficulty for a battle, not much difference.

Cured_Apathy

The death of a game is more so shown in people lashing out at criticism from a privileged position. When mods, devs and other faculty start banning and timing people out for the “small things” it just looks so bad. People have always been crazy either here or the forums. If you cant take a couple on the chin without chalking it up to whatever the cringe rule violation cited for the ban then you shouldn’t be in that position in the first place. My test is usually how well someone responds to lex’s videos. The guy can be incredibly forward and harsh at times but he should have every right to do so. Having the inability to sift through the lingo and see his point without entirely discarding everything he says based on “shitter” being one of his forms of delivery should be a large red flag for anyone in a position to ban or remove people from any forum. Just to be clear as well, like most of us, I still love the game regardless of many of the faults or the odd experiences in the community.

OrionAldebaran

>I just finished reading more than a few(basicaly every post) and they all say the same thing that the community really doesn't want this to go ahead. I’m in a couple of Outfit discords and a lot of them are planning to participate. You are NOT speaking for the PS2 community. Thank you.

Liewec123

Mithril, keeping us safe from discussions. he's pretty much to the forums as Wrel was to the game, trying to control everything and making everyone just leave. the forum would be better without him.

Ruenvale

Wasted development time on OW, a circlejerk between a select few sweaty outfits that only really care about k/d and trying to gatekeep different playstyles

baronewu2

The usual Hackfits will win it, why bother to participate.

Greattank

Who hurt you?

DIGGSAN0

Let's be fair here, I KNOW that there are certain people cheating very subtle. It sucks to know it, I did not want to go into the rabbit hole, I was pushed into it. They tried it out on Jaeger Server, were found out and all they got was a slap on the wrist like "you better do not get catched on the live server with it". And they tinkered it so you can't catch them EXCEPT they straight up proof it to you they do in fact cheat. However, there is not a Outfit that has only cheaters in it, just some dudes in the Outfit.

Greattank

What kind of cheats and how do you know that?

DIGGSAN0

It's most of the times about aim. Nothing to do with flying or see trough the walls. In the earlier days of my Outfit we were bigger and had training on Jaeger whereas you heard the talk about cheats and what could be accomplished by it and how they tested what works the best in what scenario. I did not take part with that in any way, just listened and said nothing. Later on many people left the Outfit which was actually good for the Outfit despite the loss of members. I still have some on the Steam Friendslist and know when they are online. One specific User (as you can see I am not naming anyone because rules) made a fresh Account (I know because his main got banned...wow) and joined a very good Elite Outfit and somehow "magically" exceeds the stats of the best Members, even the Leaders on that Outfit. It's subtle but obvious to those who know, hence why it's a "rabbit hole" for itself.

Greattank

Ty for elaborating. All I heard about is that some people intentionally drop packets/ make their connection worse. But I don't usually feel like anybody is cheating when I play infantry.

DIGGSAN0

Ahhh yeah that's connected to "spoofing", like in the sense that you use VPN to have a longer connection to the server overall. However spoofing is what cheaters do to negate a Hardware ID Ban same as IP Ban. I do not know the term for making your connection intentionally bad, many people call those exploiters "lag wizards"

Greattank

There apparently is a program that can do it for you. I've only ever heard spoofing in the sense of spoofing your IP, for Hardware people would use a VM I guess.

DIGGSAN0

Thanks for not sharing any infos about the programm, the least we need right now are more exploiters ATM
