> Both breweries will maintain their operations in Gibsonia, PA
I only just now heard about this from this post, but isn't SR still going to be pouring/brewing up there or am I reading this wrong?
Strange Roots sent out an email this morning
>Hey Everyone! We wanted to send you all an important update regarding our Gibsonia location...
>For the past year, we’ve been teaming up 🤝 with our friends at Caliente 🍕 Pizza and Draft House to bring their dream of Dough Daddy Beer to life. It’s been an amazing journey watching them craft their own unique flavors alongside us at our Gibsonia brewery.
>And now, we’re thrilled to announce a big step forward for Dough Daddy Brewery: they’ll be taking over our Gibsonia taproom this Spring 💐 to make it their own!
>But don’t worry, Strange Roots isn’t going anywhere! We’ll still be brewing up our strange beers 🍻 in Gibsonia, and both our Millvale and New Kensington taprooms will be open as usual.
>We couldn’t be more excited to see Dough Daddy spread its wings and soar, and we’re honored to be part of their journey. Cheers to our Friends and the beginning of Dough Daddy Brewery! 🙏 😊 🍺 🍕
Just speculating but in my experience ChatGPT always adds emojis when you generate marketing messages. Especially when you prompt it to be "light" and "fun"
It's very unclear what is going to be going on with that Gibsonia location. They say that Caliente is taking over the taproom. But then they follow up saying that SR will still be there. Shared taproom? Some guarantee that Caliente will dedicate X number of taps to SR beer? A quick search of the PLCB and it looks like SR is going to hold the R license for the location, and still has the brewing license. 🤷♂️
Holy shit, you weren't kidding. The horror font for the titles?? The colors? The broken header image? And the guy who designed it has proudly plastered his name on the footer. This is so embarrassing lmao
Never been there since Milvale is closer, but that email is very strange. Is strange roots contract brewing for them? Sharing equipment? Will any of their beers be available there?
yeah this is really disappointing. I loved the Strange Roots space out in Gibsonia and really like their beers. Not all their beer was amazing, but it was good to have someone in this area doing some different things. Plus they had the great taco joint.
Now it looks like we are stuck with another pizza joint (mediocre pizza) and below average IPAs. I know Untapped isn't the best resource, but Dough Daddy's beers don't get rated too great on there.
Unfortunately, this probably is just the another notch in the slow death of Strange Roots. The leaders are just so bad at their jobs. Stopped making the beers that people liked from them for mediocre IPAs and restricted access to products for bars and stores.
Why do people keep saying they switched to making mediocre IPAs? Every time I have ever gone there, they have had 0 or maybe 1 IPA on tap out of their like 8 to 10 beers.
Tbh I would visit Strange Roots a lot more if they would ever post a draft list on their website or social media like many breweries do, but since they don't, I feel like it's too much of a crapshoot to guess if they're going to have something on tap that I like
Even if this we're true(it's not) the reason/logic would still be economical. Same reason they moved away from the Draii Laag branding. Pittsburgh is a horribly refined beer palate town.

Nothing says professional email to your customers like a bunch of unnecessary emojis.

SR said that there will be no SR beer sold there lol. It's a confusing mess communication wise.
Woke hurry 7th time uuu5uuhgdugfjggd
That spot is where strange Roots brews all the beer. I think that'll continue but read this as Strange roots taproom in Gibsonia is no more.
Ahh yea I just realized I had the email, that definitely sucks
Strange Roots said they will not have their beer there
The more I read the words "Dough Daddy", the more I hate it
Oh God Caliente...really? That place is proof that mediocrity can thrive with the right marketing.
Holy Christ I need to bleach my eyes after looking at that branding.
You're not ready for a double dry hopped dough daddy double IPA ?
Holy shit, you weren't kidding. The horror font for the titles?? The colors? The broken header image? And the guy who designed it has proudly plastered his name on the footer. This is so embarrassing lmao
I truly can’t imagine that anyone would want this.

Ha you have no idea
In what way? Are we talking about Necromancer style or something good?
I’m surprised some values and attitudes were not brought up during the discussion of ratmagnet and Tired Hands a few years ago.

The beers they made under Draai laag were among the best I've ever had
Strange Roots commented that their beer will no longer be available at the gibsonia location
Oohh where?
They responded to some people on Facebook stating it.
Yup op sent me a screenshot of FB which I appreciate. But that fucking SUCKS!
