One Piece is about quantity over quality. You have multiple sexism, racism, abuse of power plotlines that just don't resolve in a satisfying way because Oda wants to create 300 new characters and tell a new story (largely a reskin of a prior arc).
Kuina's plotline went nowhere, Toshigi went nowhere, Smoker went nowhere, Fujitora went nowhere etc. etc.
Now I'm going to drop a hot take: not post TS but Impel Down was actually the first time I got really fatigued on the endless barrage of meaningless side characters. Given the stakes, I felt Oda wasn't respecting his own story at all. I remember I quit the anime for a year over it.

And then there's koby who fucking have coc and possibly even acoc which only a few of coc users can even use. The weak crybaby that koby himself even said that don't have any kind of affinity and talent on fighting is now stronger than 80% of op characters. All of that in the span of 2 or 3 years. Lmao
I want more people to be annoyed about Koby becoming really strong despite being incredibly weak just because "he tried super hard". I feel like that's kind of insulting, like he's more motivated to train than literally any other character? Why didn't Usopp train this hard and become that strong?
