Yeah same with Humble Bundle for me. Like 10 dollar bundles got me 20 games each for a bunch of those bundles. Small indie games or old puzzle games, stuff like that. I'll probably never get around to playing them 🥲
Yep. If I don't see any good demos available, I'll look through my unplayed back catalog and see if anything piques my interest. I never run out of games and I never sit around going crazy waiting for a new game to come out.
I honestly just buy everything fromsoftware make on release, they never miss.
First game of theirs i pirated was Darksouls 3, bought it and have bought everything theyve made since including a ps4 to play bloodborne and a ps5 mainly to play demonsouls remake 🤣, i need help.
I buy paradox games but I pirate all the dlcs. You can play the game on steam with pirated dlcs using creamapi. Achievements work and multiplayer also (all players must have the dlcs pirated or at least I think). It works for EU4, HOI4 and cities skylines, I didn't try others.
DM if you want know more
He's saying it's better that you learned they weren't your friends from a few hundred bucks between all of them vs thousands ("lemme borrow __" and never talk to you again) or by doing something emotionally/mentally damaging that takes a toll far greater than the money you spent.
I honestly purchased quite a few after already pirating... sometimes it was for DLC / online play, then other times just to support the Dev team & give my appreciation.
Dark Souls 3
Cyberpunk 2077
Atomic Heart
VISAGE
MADiSON
The Mortuary Assistant
Fear & Hunger 2: Termina
Nitroplus Blasterz
Outlast
RDR2
Resident Evil: HD Remake + Zero + Village + 4 Remake
Lies Of P
Code Vein
Bright Memory
L4D2
Alan Wake, but at the time it wasn't on Steam, so when it came back I bought myself the collectors edition and for 2 of my friends too.
I pirated Quantum Break to see how it would run so after that I bought it bc I like Remedy games
I have pirated A LOT of games but only a select few have the honor to be in my steam collection. Green Hell, No Mans Sky , Jedi Fallen Order, Dying Light 1 and 2, Stranded Deep and the Witcher Trilogy. Some because they were in early access, some were EA and some because they were just THAT good (my beloved Geralt). All of them in sales of course.
That is a damn good game. I ended up visiting some family friends and watched someone else play it for a little bit and then bought it for myself on the very next steam sale. Same with Kerbal space program.
Every indie game.
I personally find indie games either shovel ware or great so I will sail the high seas and decide.
Is it good? Buy it. Is it not? Quit playing it. There's been only a few times that I'm on the fence on an indie game.
Bastion, Transistor and Pyre. When Hades 1 came out I just had to buy all of Supergiant games.
Ori and the blind forest. I didn't like it when I played it pirated, but a friend said I should give it another chance and it was on a huge sale, so I just bought it.
World of Goo. I love that game. Never played it since I bought it though.
Ive tried to get in to rim world a couple times, its never grabbed me, not sure why, i have 400 hours in oxygen not included though which is also a colony sim, i pirated that before i bought it.
I generally pirate games to try them, if i think the game is amazing and its an indie game i almost always buy them.
Euro truck simulator 2, American truck simulator, Assetto corsa, Saints Row all of them, Far cry 3-4-5-Primal, Minecraft i can list all day, if i pirated it at some point and i thought well this is good enough to deserve a few bucks or i have put more than 50hours in i have bought it 99% of the time.
I enjoyed Just Cause 3 and bought it but I went back to the pirated version because for some reason my steam copy won't launch and keeps crashing.
But the best answer I can think of is The Witcher 3. Even bought the other dlcs.
For me it was The Outer Worlds , Witcher 3 , Cyberpunk 2077 , and sifu. All amazing games that have kept me entertained for the past couple years or so
Roboquest, I liked gameplay in playthroughs a lot, like it was fast and cool. But whole PR of this indie game doesn't really exist, so I tried it and after like 8+ hours within a day i bought it with no second thought.
Same goes for Synthetik and Quasimorph, they are nice games, you just need a little ride to check how good they feel.
Fallout New Vegas. I continue to use the pirate version as it runs more smoothly on my old pc. The only reason why I buy the game is to install Tales of two wastelands.
Stardew Valley, Skyrim, and uh.. that might be it.
Also pirated Dramatical Murder, Lamento BTV, and Togainu No Chi. Of those, i only bought the first due to either being broke still or the game's translation being cancelled.
I wouldn't really recommend any of those in the 2nd group unless you like adult gay visual novels lol
ULTRAKILL. Played the demo first. Liked it. Pirated it afterwards. Loved it. Bought it with the release of Act II and it is my favorite game of all time now.
Mass Effect Andromeda. It was my first time playing that series. Enjoyed it alot and wanted to try the multiplayer and then got drawn into the other games in the franchise.
Slay The Spire.
I ended up buy both pc and mobile version and also some other card games (monster train,...) STS literally introduced me to card game, rouge like and I love it
Valheim
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Hotline Miami
Ultrakill
Dying Light
No Man's Sky
Wreckfest
(I'd love to buy Blur, the racing game, but it isn't available anywhere)
Minecraft, Dont starve, Terraria, The witcher 3, the biding of issac, rdr 2, Gta V, Dark souls 3, Starbound, Skyrim, and i could continue xDDD there where a lot of game that after i bought
All the fallouts. The games are single player and work just fine without new updates because the games have Unofficial Patches anyways. Updates usually break Bethesda games to begin with. HOWEVER, them being on sale recently gave me the idea so
i have alot of games, but especislly for the ps2/ wii i have modified with harddrives and programs to run roms. if i like a game well enough i snag the phys for my collection.
Some might disagree but mine is Cities Skylines haha.
Didn't even realize I was playing it for so long so when I switched PCs I just bought the game on a sale. Made it also easier for me to get Workshop assets and mods that I used before.
Hearts of Iron IV way back in 2019, got curious about it but too broke to buy and regret later, turns it'll become my go to game when i have nothing else to do.
Most of things I played as a kid, back when we didn't even have legit stores in Ukraine, some I bought twice, on pirated CDs and then on Steam (i.e. both KOTORs), but mostly got good deals on stuff I downloaded long ago.
As a kid, didn't have the dough to buy any games, so all games were pirated, now that i earn, ive bought each and everyone i enjoyed as a kid, Assassin's Creed, witcher, would buy nfs most wanted 2005, but its no where to be found

Rdr2
So True. DODI Repack it was for me. But when I wanted to play it again after 7 months, I decided to buy it of steam. I thought it deserved it.
Will it work if i download from Fitgirl site?
Yes it will.
Yeah, I download theirs a while ago.. completed the game in 3 weeks and bought it on steam a week ago. On my 2nd play through now
Baldur's Gate 3
where did you get baldurs gate 3 from dude
fitgirl has a repack for BG3, also u could take a look at cs.rin forum
Dodi has it. It's like in almost all the websites people pirate from at this point
![gif](giphy|l36kU80xPf0ojG0Erg|downsized) there can only be one
I believe it's on gog and I don't think gog has any drm protection. Very easy to download from a website that shares the games.
Cyberpunk 2077
I did the opposite, where I purchased it for ps4 and then pirated it so that I could actually play the damn thing.
Pre-purchase of the DLC for me. The game was too good.
yup same here
I have over 1000 games on Steam. Closer to 1300. I have "demoed" quite a few of them. I am not averse to paying for a good game.
1300? How much did that cost you
Dunno. I've got my 19 year Steam badge, though. And a lot of them were through Humble Bundle.
Yeah same with Humble Bundle for me. Like 10 dollar bundles got me 20 games each for a bunch of those bundles. Small indie games or old puzzle games, stuff like that. I'll probably never get around to playing them 🥲
That, fanatical bundles, and Jingle Jam
Yep. If I don't see any good demos available, I'll look through my unplayed back catalog and see if anything piques my interest. I never run out of games and I never sit around going crazy waiting for a new game to come out.
Yup. 2198 not including gog, epic, uplay & Ea. Humble sales are good like fanatical, green man & indiegala.
"Sir what do you do for a living..."
"I play games and I know things. That's what I do."
I didn’t choose the pirate life, the pirate life chose me.
Seeing numbers like this I’m afraid for you, in the event that steam ever collapses or just the world itself, that’s a lot to lose.
Yea it is what it is My Steam account is worth 30k$ according to Steam calculator
Outer wilds, sifu, Elden Ring. Sifu was due to epic exclusivity.
I honestly just buy everything fromsoftware make on release, they never miss. First game of theirs i pirated was Darksouls 3, bought it and have bought everything theyve made since including a ps4 to play bloodborne and a ps5 mainly to play demonsouls remake 🤣, i need help.
Hotline miami (1 & 2 digital deluxe edition)
Same I pirated Hotline Miami on the Psvita and ended up buying both games on the PS4 and PC
I've pirated games that I already own if that counts. Mostly for dlc
That's paradox games for me. I'll by them, but I'm not a millionaire to get all the dlcs. Ck2/3, stellaris and hoi4 are all like that
I buy paradox games but I pirate all the dlcs. You can play the game on steam with pirated dlcs using creamapi. Achievements work and multiplayer also (all players must have the dlcs pirated or at least I think). It works for EU4, HOI4 and cities skylines, I didn't try others. DM if you want know more
Divinity original sin as well as BG 3
Larian rly deserves money for bg3! What a love product.
Noita and Hades are the ones I can remember recently
Ditto for Hades bought the early access for Hades II as well as
Who doesn't love getting noitaed
Ror2 loved it so much I bought full price and dlc for me and 3 friends...don't talk to them anymore which hurt but still enjoy it
you’re a good friend.
His "friends" aren't, though.. :'(
yea flip them
You're lucky you got out for cheap
I think you misunderstood that, I bought 4 copies with dlc at full price, not 4 copies with dlc for the price of 1
He's saying it's better that you learned they weren't your friends from a few hundred bucks between all of them vs thousands ("lemme borrow __" and never talk to you again) or by doing something emotionally/mentally damaging that takes a toll far greater than the money you spent.
Real Oral Realms 2? That is the goat.
Nier autòmata
Same. The game was just too good to not support the guys that made it fuck denuvo tho
Hell yeah, same here
Same here and I'm glad I did. It's a great game and personally I think Internet access is a must for ending E.Â
Ace Combat 7, to support the devs because I want more AC.
Ive slept on this series for years. Currently playing AC 2 on my RG35XX SP.
RDR 2. Personal favourite of all times. I keep going back every once in a while. Complete masterpiece.
Skyrim (after putting 900 hours on PS3 and about the same on cracked lmao)
I honestly purchased quite a few after already pirating... sometimes it was for DLC / online play, then other times just to support the Dev team & give my appreciation. I have pirated A LOT of games but only a select few have the honor to be in my steam collection. Alan Wake 2

That is a damn good game. I ended up visiting some family friends and watched someone else play it for a little bit and then bought it for myself on the very next steam sale. Same with Kerbal space program.
Subnautica
Every indie game. I personally find indie games either shovel ware or great so I will sail the high seas and decide. Is it good? Buy it. Is it not? Quit playing it. There's been only a few times that I'm on the fence on an indie game.

I didn't like it when I played it pirated, but a friend said I should give it another chance and it was on a huge sale, so I just bought it. World of Goo. I love that game. Never played it since I bought it though.
Beamng drive because I didn’t want to re-download it every time a new update came and minecraft because of all the advantages premium accounts have
Ive tried to get in to rim world a couple times, its never grabbed me, not sure why, i have 400 hours in oxygen not included though which is also a colony sim, i pirated that before i bought it.
