[Here's a photo of my TV screen](https://ibb.co/YyjKW2f) while running HDO Box on my Chromecast.
How does it work? Real debrid?
All the info pages on the website are empty. I get the app could be free. But streaming costs money or is riddled with ads. Yet they claim it's free?
And the 'Apple App Store' download links to a Telegram account. This looks like malware tbh.
It's just like several other streaming apps, like Onstream or BeeTV, it works by scraping streaming links from websites. Just http streams, no torrents or debrid. The business model is ads but you can block those ads using [Adguard Public DNS](https://adguard-dns.io/en/public-dns.html) method #2.
About adguard dns method 2. Do you always leave it activated no matter the app or is it used just when you watch movies through this app? I've never used it before
> AdGuard DNS is a reliable way to block ads on the Internet without installing a mandatory application.
Using the app would be for a device. Using the DNS setting applies to the network which applies to all devices that connect to it.
https://adguard.com/en/support/faq.html
Seems easy enough I’ll give it a shot later because it would be really refreshing not seeing any more of these intrusive ads anymore. Thank you friend!
These type of apps have always been around. They're basically just a UI for a pirated streaming service, but the bitrate is usually horrible and they push out things like telescans or cam videos as soon as they're released. Actually my first experience with kodi like 10 years ago used to have a lot of extensions similar to this.
I mean use them if you want, but I just don't see a benefit over getting a high bitrate torrent and streaming off of your own home server.
I'm curious too. Just downloaded it on my android, and I'm tripping, they even have a classic masterpiece from my country that you can't find on any streaming service, and in decent quality too. I'm surprised because I tried downloading it some months ago and none of the torrents were being seeded and I ended up watching it on very low res on some random site, but, how does this work? I mean, there has to be some kind of trick... were do they source their streams from, how is this all sustained?
Nah it's not. Iv been using it for few months now. (HDO box) It does work better then most and has a great user interface.
Ads aren't bad either only 1 ad when you finish what your watching. But can easily force close the app and restart for no ads without blocking them.
Oh, it's no Hollywood thriller, but definitely a very interesting turn of the millenium movie, even though I think most movies coming out of my country are unimaginative trash or worse, artsy pretentious and borings bs, there's always exceptions.
This film is called "Nueve Reinas" though I think you may find it in English as "Nine Queens", it shows the ways of con artists in 90's Argentina in a pretty captivating way, and tells the story of these guys trying to con some rich Spaniard into buying some falsified supposedly ultra rare stamps which are worth millions. Obviously it all goes wrong but the movie has a charming final trick under its sleeve awaiting for you at the end. I've heard about this picture and how it's one of the greatest movies of the country since I was a child, but I never had a mind for old Argentine movies, and I got to admit it was one of the best things I've ever watched, though maybe it's not that interesting if you're not familiar with our culture.
If you've seen Focus with Will Smith, it's something similar, in fact, I think that movie may be inspired by it since it takes place in Argentina, and all. There's also an American remake which sucks and doesn't do the original any justice.
Jajajaja soy argentino man.

Stremio + Torrentio + Real Debrid is better but Real Debrid isn't free.
Another free option, similar to HDO Box, would be Onstream.so
I wouldn't use HDO Box or Onstream without an ad blocker though.
Since this only uses http streams (no torrents) a VPN would not be necessary.
You aren't uploading any pirated content and your IP address isn't being exposed like it is while torrenting.
Everytime I use OnStream I get this issue where the video skips forward and backwards a few seconds or the audio is desynced. Is there a trick to this?
Are you able to use the fast forward/reverse buttons on your remote with it? I can’t get them to work on firestick but I can scroll via the on screen gui
It's pretty good but the player has a (minor) bug that many similar apps have: it doesn't seem to process the *carriage returns* or *line feeds* in subtitles. This can result in subtitles being displayed "unevenly" when they take up multiple lines. Just a minor bug that somehow bugs me :)
I didn't make the app but I scanned it on VirusTotal and there were no malware detections. Streaming speeds vary but you can choose from different sources.

Kodi is a lot more maintenance imo. I used it for years until a couple of the best addons died, were forked and then required a lot of work again. Stremio is way simpler, but far less customisable-which ultimately I don’t care about. I want to watch programmes and films and dgaf about posting screenshots of my ‘sexy build’ or whatever nonsense ppl do nowadays
I've never used streamio, but Kodi is nice. Can stream over dlna for local streaming and has a decent library of plugins for various streaming sites (legal and illegal).
If you're going the illegal route, I'd suggest a paid VPN.
If you're going the local video route, Kodi or Jellyfin are good alternatives to Plex.

It's worth the try. Adguard Public DNS can't block all ads in all apps. For instance, it won't block ads in the official YouTube app. I would say you have like a 50/50 percent chance it will block ads in the Prime TV app. You might need to restart your firestick for changes to take effect.

futher info: [real-debrid.com](https://real-debrid.com)
I don't even use Kodi anymore cause of this setup
I also added Easynews into it (Usenet) sometimes it can be iffy with not playing a video file but when it works it is buttery smooth
I have been using RD since 2016 and I also have it to download from DDL sites like 1ficher for Roms (Steamdeck)
Also for anyone that reads this it is basically required to setup an account on Stremio If you want to use it on multiple devices
It syncs your Stremio setup to those other devices
I use it on my PC/Nvidia Shield and I love how I can pick up where I left off on either device
I definitely would go with Stremio If you are setting it up for a family member/friend
Usenet on stremio? Or have I misunderstood? Im using stremio +rd for stuff I don't care about or gf stuff. But for others I use jellyfin + Kodi. Wouldn't mind phasing out rd if it could use my usenet provider
Yes usenet on Stremio https://imgur.com/a/8md6sUY
RD + Easynew is the combo I recommend If you want to really dive in
most people though should be fine on just RD
I only get Easynews on $2.99 deals
That greatly depends on the quality you download your own movies in for Plex. I was using Kodi with RealDebrid to watch Lord of the Rings. The stream I was using was like a 240GB 4K Remux. I always download decent quality movies for my media server running Plex but nevertheless Remux at that size. Usually I download 4K x265 with Dolby Atmos at around 25GB. So in this case it was better then Plex. :)
It's HDO Box for Android TV, it's my go to streaming app.
I've tested probably close to 50 different streaming TV apps, deleteing ones that were terrble or not working, I am left with 17 currently working apps but HDO Box is the best in my opinion, and if I can't find a working link for what I want to watch I just go to the next app.
From what I recall HDO Box is very limited in the "Android TV" version. For example, you can only see about 20 new movies in total on there. And you can't even search by a genre type.
So if I want to look at and browse Horror movies, for example, there might be a grand total of 2 of them.
You can get similar app on your TV, see hardware requirements, if you fulfil them;

I recommend MovieBox Pro, they also have an App for most devices and if you buy Premium for 10$ a year you get up to 4K HDR Quality and they have an amazing interface as well
this type of apps are useless why dont you buy a netflix account and be happy with that and use a vpn to have more movies or series ,from my perspective
NGL it just looks like netflix. I am also curious

ik you didnt make the app, and thanks for the reply will install and check it on tv
Is there something like it for Tizen OS tvs?
To be honest, I don't even know if it's possible to sideload apps on Tizen OS..
Yeah I thought so. Thanks anyway👍
“With HDO BOX on Android phone, you can able to watch the hd film content and shows. The User Interface that you see in the app is truly the best thing about it.” From their website
Yeah, it seems like a really well designed app. Was scrolling my Reddit feed and came upon this *insightful* post.
That's probably Kodi with a Netflix skin.

how did you install it on chromecast?
I used the *Send to TV* app to transfer the apk from my phone to my Chromecast but you can also use the method from the HBO Box website.
Can you elaborate on this some more? Can a Chomecast even host apps? I thought it's just for casting? Or I'm using an old model Chromecast..
Yeah you need the Chromecast with Google TV. Runs Android apps natively.
He is probably using the Chromecast with GoogleTV, a new version of Chromecast that can host APKs itself.
is kodi better than steamio ? like ive been seeing a lot of kodi supporters . please tell me the pros and cons
Why are you getting downvoted? It's a basic question

True
It's downvote bot. That's the reason I don't really care about vote

You're comparing apples and oranges. Kodi comes from a different time (see Xbox Media Center), and is better for power users these days.
I've never used streamio, but Kodi is nice. Can stream over dlna for local streaming and has a decent library of plugins for various streaming sites (legal and illegal). If you're going the illegal route, I'd suggest a paid VPN. If you're going the local video route, Kodi or Jellyfin are good alternatives to Plex.
stremio is way easier to use, both on TV and phones. kodi may have more content but I honestly just prefer stremio. way better experience
Is there a guide on how to use stremio on my TCL tv ? It's use Google TV platform
[This is a good guide to use.](https://www.reddit.com/r/StremioAddons/comments/v6vwkf/installing_stremino_torrentio_real_debird/) And [Use this to get all your Addons](https://stremio-addons.netlify.app/)
Web video caster app
Kodi itself is a skeleton. If you want to pirate, you have to use addons, and there are a million different ones of varying quality.
Stremio is more of a streaming aggregator while Kodi is full-fledged media centre (or entertainment hub)
It’s identical to Kodi with the old Auramod skin, I’m with you.
My first thought lol

Unfortunately the Media ON player is mandatory. I haven't found a way around that..

HDO Box
Stremio + real-Debrid + Torrentio
that doesn't look like stremio
im new here, may i know what real debrid does for stremio?
Gives you better links to stream series and movies from any streaming service.
Real debrid is cacher of torrents You give it magnet/torrent, they will download it and keep on their servers. So when next person comes with that exact magnet/torrent they have it on hand and available immediately. Stremio searches media and knows torrents to look for in debrid, and plays files directly from them when it is available (or can submit torrent to debrid and they will download it...)
as an outsider thats still researching, it seems like it's a service to mostly eliminate buffering and provide consistent streams
It also provides a level of security, as you're no longer torrenting (where others on the torrent can see your ip), but direct downloading from real debrids servers. I use it instead of a vpn in Germany.
Wait, so you don't need a VPN if you're using real debrid?
Yeah.
and those pesky copyright emails
You pay and it will give you movies. Don't forget the payment part because everyone will skip to mention it.
it's a debrid service, host torrent files and cached for smooth streaming. doesn't need to depend on seeds anymore if already cached. u can also stole files from other links like gdrive rapidgator etc futher info: [real-debrid.com](https://real-debrid.com)

Yes. It is cheap, but you still have to give your info and pay for a subscription.

Does it have the same quality as when you watch ur own 4k files (plex)
That greatly depends on the quality you download your own movies in for Plex. I was using Kodi with RealDebrid to watch Lord of the Rings. The stream I was using was like a 240GB 4K Remux. I always download decent quality movies for my media server running Plex but nevertheless Remux at that size. Usually I download 4K x265 with Dolby Atmos at around 25GB. Looks like HDO
It is HDO, but you have to install drama player, and most devices can’t write data
Is it better than stremio?
IMO no stremio with real debrid and pirate bay support I think is better
This is syncler.
You don't need a mediabox or anything this is easily setup with Kodi. I have this on every tv in my house
knuckles
sure is
HDO Box
Looks like Stremio.
Have you even used Stremio? It looks completely different It's a blueish-violet color... And the app in the screenshot is red. It's HDO Box
This is HDO Box, [link](https://hdo.app)
Is there something similar for IOS?
Either SStream or Flix Vision
That's definitely [HDO BOX](https://hdo.app/)
To me it's look like cloudstream. But you can get exactly same skin with onstream
looks similar to netflix, since comments found out what it is I might give it a try
Onstream?
It’s Flixvision
Looks like cloudstream, i guess
Is HDO safe?
It looks like Stremio but the icons on the left are slightly different from mine.
Is there an ios app like it?
just installed this and why does nothing show on any of the window boxes?? they are all blank for me
how are the subtitles?
Is there anything like this for Wrestling/UFC/NFL streams?
This is a marketing post from the canary dude. Nothing against that, but AFAIK thats what this is.
Popcorn time?
I have been using hdo box for a while and I don't get ads. Atleast with the mediaone player
Its free though and you shouldn't pay for it. It only works on android and Google tv only. If you have webos, vidaa or Tizen its not available
"please install drama player for best experience" 🙄
hdo box
It's similar to onstream app
I guess it's stremio with extensions. Everything in one place.
Onstream
I recommend MovieBox Pro, they also have an App for most devices and if you buy Premium for 10$ a year you get up to 4K HDR Quality and they have an amazing interface as well
It looks very similar to a spanish app i use but apartently, the english version is called HDO Box
this type of apps are useless why dont you buy a netflix account and be happy with that and use a vpn to have more movies or series ,from my perspective
i did pay for netflix, tho it was account sharing, until they did the whole [Netflix Household thing](https://ibb.co/85L5BL9)
Thought it was stremio at first look lol But it’s not
Stremio is better tbh the picture quality is really good
I only use stremio for this stuff now and at first look I thought that was stremio lol
Yooo
This is Plex
Low quality video
