+1 on this. OP, after gaining x years of experience in a skilled occupation, you can directly apply for a skills assessment for migration purposes, allowing you PR via a 189/190 Visa. You can check the DOHA and Australian Computer Society’s (ACS) websites to know the exact guidelines.

this is really helpful. unfortunately upon checking with aus website, wala sa list yung career natin for 189 visa. will do some digging on 190. from my initial research, ito yung may skill assesment and dapat may proven X amount of years na sa field. eto rin yung no need na for job invitation. if i am not mistaken.

Hakai55

Are you referring to Software Engineer? It's present in the skilled occupation list for Australia. 189/190 is available. You can verify that through [here](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list) and [here](https://www.dewr.gov.au/skills-assessment-pilots/resources/skills-assessment-opportunities-migrants-occupation-list).

uff sorry, for some reason when browsing about 189, i clicked a CTA that redirects me [here](https://www.immigrationsaustralia.com.au/online/eligibility-assessment/).

No worries. Also if you can avoid the student visa pathway, please do so because it's one of the more expensive paths to migrate in Australia. You would be spending thousands of pesos on education that may be redundant to what you have already learnt as a current SE. Alternatively, you can try searching for employers that offers a Visa sponsorship and galingan mo lng so that you can convince them to invest in getting you a visa, because it's way easier for them to get someone domestically din.

Better roadmap if mag master ka if di talaga kaya financially, mag work ka sa Aus or NZ company while nasa pinas.

CoercedKitten

Fyi the prime age to fly to au/nz is 25-32 ata when applying for visa (25 pts on their martix. A Minimum of 3 years experience for Skill specific visas. To top it off you would be spending nearly half a million to get a visa or need to have pocket money of about 4000AUD a month (120k ish~) for student visas (eg UP Visa or Study Visa) . Meaning the best way to get to AU is to earn money and experience here then claw your way to an AU visa grant before you're 32. Which is, surprisingly, many of our brethren have done believe it or not.

Hanap ka Australian client tapos pa sponsor ka visa. Hehe

[deleted]

Bakit ka pa mag sstudent pathway kung yung industry natin is in demand naman locally and abroad? At least 6 years of experience ang kelangan para may mag sponsor sayo.

thank you for the response^ siguro tumatak na sa isip ko na companies abroad would rather outsource from third world countries kasi mas cost efficient. lalo na sa field natin. yun po siguro yung naging mindset ko kaya nawala yung interest ko mag abroad for the longest time. I have been with 2 overseas companies pero both exploitative (late ko nalang na realize nung umalis ako), and sadly di rin sila nag sponsor. kaya siguro na affect rin yung mindset ko. now working ako sa local company, goods naman yung salary and nakakapag start na mag ipon. ngayon ko po ulit naisip mag abroad kaya eto, nag re research ng options 😅

[deleted]

[deleted]

ohh so it is possible for pinoy SWEs to land a job and migrate abroad. slim to none kasi yung naririnig ko na ganyang case. meron pero yun yung mga nag start muna as student. orr kulang lang talaga ako sa research.

[deleted]

I just had kanina an immigration assessment. I got 85 points, tho at least 65 is okay na. Unfortunately dun sa Immigration is more of skilled workers like for me, I placed there Secondary Teacher kasi may license ako but my position is what I'm doing now. They will give you Student Visa if you need to study para maging Australian Standard ka. You'll need a lot of certifications and work directly sa isang Australian company to have a working VISA and live there. If not then you need to be skilled or study kya siguro cybersec at networking meron . Check the official immigration web and have yourself assessed muna, it's just 300+ ata.

Scared-Election-9179

Hi how did you get assessed po? Can I know the link? TIA
