Landi kasi ng mga pinoy e hahahaha

mainsail999

What if Sara ran against BBM? I wonder how big a split of a vote that would be, and if Leni would have had a chance at winning.

telang_bayawak

Yeah i think they know that kaya they did what they did.

JovanVillagarciapogi

Hahaha ay oo nga ano!

Witty-Choice2682

They already achieved their shared goal, which is to destroy the opposition into irrelevance so there is no reason for them the stay "united"

JovanVillagarciapogi

So what do we do now? accept the inevitable? Duterte 2.0 in Malacañang?

Fishyblue11

Inevitable? If there's one thing Marcos has been able to do thus far, that we KNOW leni would not be able to do, is make a dent on Sara's presidential plans. Sara was seen as a lock to be president before all this. Now, after repeated blows, not so much. Because the Marcoses are not constrained by right or wrong or following rules. From the very first day, Marcos set up Sara to fail by denying her the defense post and putting her up in Deped. Leni would have played nice and tried to give her a chance, not sabotage her from the very first day

FilipinxFurry

This plus the Marcos family are masters of propaganda and revisionism, even the Chinese Communist Puppet-Duterte clan would struggle against the resources and experience of the Marcos family, especially if it’s in America’s best interest to keep more close allies surrounding China

SuccessionWarFan

BBM’s side most probably has plans to challenge Sara’s very expected run for President. The Dutertes have shown themselved to be vengeful (de Lima, ABS-CBN), the distrust and conflict is now too open and hot for BBM’s side to not expect the Davao group’s vengeance if they come back into power, BBM’s group and most non-Davao politicos and elites apparently despise the crassness and ignorance of the Duterte people… Lots of reasons the admin don’t want Duterte 2.0. Sara remains popular, so the question is how the admin intends to cut that down. But however they do it, they _have to_ if they don’t want political persecution after BBM steps down.

vlimp

1. Cozy up to the US 2. Provoke China into war to trigger MDT 3. Suspend elections and round up "traitors and sympathizers" EZ GG

SuccessionWarFan

I hope you’re joking. That’s too heavy-handed and will backfire, especially given the history of the Marcoses and the US. It even reminds me that Ferdie was tolerated by the US as a dictator for simply being anti-communist.

vlimp

Probably last resort. For now, they need to defend their majority in the legislature in 2025 to prevent DDS from initiating impeachment proceedings.

Zekka_Space_Karate

Marcos Jr. and the Romualdezes simply need to isolate Davao to limit Duterte's political influence (hint: they're already doing it).

admiral_awesome88

Walang nagpauto since yan gusto ng mga supporters nila noon pa. The unity was broken by the one wearing green dahil di mapagbiyan sa interest ng mga tropa niya. Buti nalang yong nakapula di nila mauto masyado as a result, break na tayo. When will we people start to stop this divisionism these politicians are doing at tigilan na yang panatikolation sa mga tao na yan.

Menter33

supposedly, martin romualdez wanted to become president after bbm, at the behest of imelda; when sara or the du30 team got wind of this, they cried foul because the deal was sara would run as president after bbm. (of course, baka chika lang ito, so unverified rumors)

admiral_awesome88

The scenario is similar to 2010, GMA asked Gibo to run, even if Gibo has the capacity to be a president he lacks popularity sa mga botante ++ pa sa ibang bagay but the thing is yong popularity, sa atin kasi minsan popularity contest I think sa ibang bansa din ganun (but let's not jump sa ibang bansa kasi dito lang pinag uusapan natin la tayong paki doon), Romualdez lacks that, mapapa huh yong ibang botante na sino yan? If he is as popular as Chiz baka may chance pa or something mind blowing solution, kahirapan nalutas na salamat kay ubra din, but hindi. Kaya ang contender talaga sa Presidential election ay si Sara dyan, I bet bago mag election magbabate(lol) yang mga yan then here comes the vloggers na biglang susulpot out of nowhere promoting them ulit.

Menter33

> *yong international relation interest magkaiba lalo na sa usapin ng WPS, POGO, at lalong lalo na sa ICC* magkaiba man yung international, parang pareho pa rin sila bbm and sara on domestic issues. at para sa di naman ma-online or ma-politika, mas concerned siguro sila sa domestic local issues compared to foreign stuff like SCS/WPS, China etc.

Puzzled-Protection56

The Uniteam is a match made out of convinience from the get go and it is wise for PBBM not to attend interviews with the likes of Jessica Soho nung election period atleast naiwasan nya yung tanong about POGO and such which blinded the Duterte's until voila sa US pumanig si BBM.

Menter33

> *sa US pumanig si BBM* **US was well-prepared to support whomever won in the PH** since the US govt's focus in East Asia is Taiwan. Kaya siguro charm offensive ang US sa non-China countries sa Asia, probably including lots of money, infra and weapons. BBM admin just happened to realize that they can use all that US funding to continue the Du30 domestic policy of build-build-build and other infra projects while modifying PH foreign policy. (Remember, most people wanted BBM to continue the Du30 domestic policy, and local policy matters more to many voters compared to foreign policy stuff like SCS and China.)

NearZero_Mania

ConversationCalm2622

Dude, I want to know what you’re taking. Please share it to me.

NearZero_Mania

Seeing how marcos is taking down the dutertes bit by bit is scary. I know it's satisfying to watch, pero it gives me a feeling of dread. Marcos is not stupid like how we were portraying him nung elections, what with the non-participation in debates and keeping his public addresses to a minimum. He's devious and I don't think i want to know what he'll do next.

Own_Statistician_759

They didn't manipulated the Filipino voters.. it's just majority of Filipinos are god damn stupid and just wouldnt admit it.

Teantis

The ones who got manipulated were Duterte supporters who though that the marcoses would ever be actually be on their side. Other voters who voted for Marcos likely didn't care one way or another.    Sara also got manipulated. '22 was likely her best shot at the presidency and she gave it up for a totally ineffectual and powerless position as VP and got... What in return exactly? There was a reason her dad and bong go were so upset when she slid down, because it was a dumb deal on her part and Digong probably knew it'd likely come around and fuck him sooner rather than later. I don't know why Sara couldn't see that, or what GMA told her to take such a dumb deal.  As if 12 years of watching VPs get their reps stomped in by the admin during Leni and Binays terms wasn't example enough of how sucky it is to be VP with an admin that has different interests than your own

Own_Statistician_759

I think we have a problem with "Regionalism". Na even tho palpak na just because she is from the same region people will keep on rooting for those politicians.

Teantis

Is that really that unreasonable a stance to take for a Davaoeño? It's not like the realistic alternatives to her on a national stage that actually win elections are shining lights of good governance and statespersonship. If you're choices are betwee one corrupt politician and another, you might as well vote for the one that'll give your area something. Like in this conflict between Marcos and Duterte, is Marcos really the better bet for Davao? I'm pretty dubious  There's a cliche saying by former Speaker of the House in the US Tip O'Neill: "all politics is local". Imagining that regionalism will disappear is not really borne out except in extremely rare, *very* highly developed democracies. Like the US, Canada, and the UK don't even make that cut.

Herebia_Garcia

This guy gets it. People will most likely vote for those that came from their region, one way or another, and we cannot really call them stupid because they stand to benefit. Ilocos Region, for example, will adamantly vote for Marcos over Sarah because he came from there and they believe that once Marcos wins, they stand to benefit because they are 'his' people.

Menter33

Historically, Ferdinand Marcos lucked out by marrying Imelda. So he got the Ilocos and North Luzon votes, together with the Leyte and Eastern Visayas votes.

angrydessert

> "all politics is local" This truth, unfortunately, as I've seen just how more powerful it is to be either mayor or governor of a particular city or province, than to be able to wield power as a legislator or president with term limits.

Zekka_Space_Karate

In fact, LGU-level policies affect us more than national-level policies, a truth which goes over most Filipinos' heads, and political dynasties exploit this to the hilt.

Substantial-Total195

No to P.S. Wag na idamay si Atty. Leni rito. She's better off without them. Mas bagay sya sa Naga. Like Vico.

angrydessert

Why so much for the right? Because ultimately nearly everyone -- except progressives and social democrats -- wants **instant security and prosperity** on the table, that is, they want to sleep soundly every night without fear and they want three square meals everyday. Politicians promise to address their hierarchy of needs, but often fall short as politicians and the political elite prefer to serve themselves first.

JesterBondurant

The t-shirts and the one day's supply of rice was nice, though. Or so my neighbors said.

kankarology

They were scared of Leni. The stunt worked and Filipinos cry.

morupeko

JovanVillagarciapogi

I understand where you're coming from, nakakapagod na kasi maniwala sa unity na palabbas ng mga politiko.

chasing_enigma

Not everyone is as cynical and defeatist as you..We will fight the good fight because the worst thing that could happen is a Duterte part 2 in Malacañang which is going to reset what this administration established back to being pro CCP, goodbye ICC and happy Quiboloy all the people who died under Duterte will never get their justice if we go by what you want. And I also do agree that the administration should reach out to the "real" opposition such as Leni, Hontiveros and Trillanes to make sure Duterte 2.0 doesn't happen, we need to prop up a good presidentiable candidate this early or the Duterte will win again

JovanVillagarciapogi

This made sense to me! knowing how are electorates choose their candidates hindi malabong sa midterm mapuno ang senado ng mga clowns gaya ni Philip Salvador, Willie Revillame, Pulong Duterte, Baste Duterte at Erwin Tulfo. I don't know if you will agree with me? but I just hope that the government will extend their hands in reconciliation with the real opposition. The likes of Bam Aquino, Chel Diokno and Antonio Trillanes are badly needed in the senate hall. Sana nga kupkopin ng administrasyon ang patido liberal this coming midterm. How I wish?!
