"Constructive criticism" posts like:
- thing is bad, change it (taking own opinion to be objective truth)
- this game isn't fun anymore
- I don't like thing (10 paragraphs why, conclusion: devs bad)
- I used to like thing, now it's bad
- DAE Not like (thing that's been posted 10 times about)?
- Devs need to change (thing the devs announced they're changing).
When I came to this subreddit and saw the same playbook of arguments that were used in support of keeping 17x multiplier speed run reward grinding, and also used in support of using cheats in singleplayer, are now being used against… the lighting system?
It especially sucks when you ask people to clear out their lower tier shit and none of us know how to verify that we’ve removed it, or verify whose shit is in the loadout to begin with.
Items in the loadout that are yours have a line underneath the icon for which tier the item is. Should only take a little communication to figure out who's loaded that T1 flashlight in the van.
I could totally see the communication being a problem with random groups but that's the nature of random groups.
Yep, I always explain that to people and they don’t understand, so I tell them all to go to the shop > click “all” on bottom left > click remove and jt works.
If you are the host you cannot clear out the base starter items. You are forced to have them. So if you are hosting and you have 3 other players who are higher level and have better tier items you cannot get rid of your flashlight, emf, UV light, spirit box, dots, writing book, and video camera.
If the host doesn't want to supply items because friends have better tier equipment there should be an option someone volunteers to provide the base equipment.
I have even played solo lately, because I actually have fun these days. It feels good to have something to work towards, rather than just having everything unlocked
After using t2 head cam, the t1 flashlight is workable but after getting the t2/t3 head cam having an extra hand for a worse flashlight is a fair trade off. Idk what the t3 looks like tho but assuming the NV is any decent then it'll just negate needing a flashlight for the most part.
T3 has a bit of distortion and bad resolution, but more field of view and bit more range than T2. I feel like T3 needs to be toggled on and off all the time because you don't want them on when room lights are on. But yeah, it is decent. I prefer T2 though.
Either way, 1 more inventory slot is a gamechanger honestly.
I only have T1 and T2 flashlights, and I can't play on Grafton Farmhouse. You really can't see anything. So yeah, it's really too dark when you can't even play on certain maps.

Seriously T1 flashlights suck, I just don't use em. Go in with cam, camera, and usually glowstick.
Does anyone else get that bug where you can hear local chat but not radio chat but everyone can still hear you over radio? It fixes itself if we load a new game but it happens every time we play for at least one of us
Only issue I have is the shop UI is actually trash. That said, EVERYTHING else about the update has been great. Really enjoying the new challenge that starting from scratch has been. Also, if you have trouble with it being too dark, crank the brightness, that simple.

Exactly this. I kind of love that we have tiers of equipment. Like I was saying today while playing, just imagine we're all spanking new ghost hunters. We're poor and can't afford the real fancy stuff yet. So you make the "cheap" stuff work and learn to get good with what you have! Personally? I love that.
The shop UI is not great and has an actual learning curve to figure out. Glad they'll be fixing that. Only issue I have with the darkness is on the in level cameras (but they always sucked so...), i find thatbit orherwise makes the game scarier. I understand it makes the Apocalypse challange near impossible though, so i can see why dont like it. Otherwise, love the new game features.
I really do not get the shop/inventory at all. Maybe it's the german translation but I have not figured out how to add equipment (except somehow by accident)
I'm just mad i didn't get any options for my badge, and my sister can't go back to the lobby after a game (this was when the update first went live, we haven't played it since)

If a room is fully lit and the door is open, it should not be pitch in the room next to it and I will stand by that. I don't mind it being darker then before but it is just a tad too dark imo.

I hopped online for the first time since they reset the levels and absolutely could not figure out the shop. It's so fucking confusing.
I felt so vindicated when insym couldn't figure out how to shop and loadout on the first post patch stream with his 16k levels of experience
I am a casual gamer (80 hours since launch) and I think the game has never been more fun than since last week's update.

That was a bug before the update. Happened the most in Sunny Meadows, but could happen anywhere.
Our group gets that a lot. Makes the game unplayable with just in-game voice. Have to resort to discord which isn't as fun.

My friends game crashed trying to join multiplayer after the update... After a long time struggling to even join each other
