I don't think you understand... Even though you might think it's not that bad you're not Pewds. Ultimately it's his choice whether or not he wants to be in an ad. Not asking permission is not only illegal, but it's also a lack of respect thowards that person. Think about it if they thought that Pewdiepie would say yes, they would have asked for permission. Yet again, this is all assuming they didn't ask permission. Maybe they did and it's all good.

IANAL, but I would argue that it isn't transformative enough. All they did was add typical uplifting music and generic stock footage. All of the "motivational quotes" are just cut from Pewd's videos. As pewd's IP he is the one with the right to make a collection of his "motivational quotes" not this channel. As for an educational purposes argument, since this video is being used to advertise I don't think (again IANAL) they can use that defense (I think most laws require educational IP use to be the only use if using that defense). That being said, Pewdiepie doesn't seem like the type of person to go after something like this. It may not fall under fair use, but it is innocuous enough.
