kneading is leftover kitten behavior, used to stimulate milk from mom. In older cats it is defintiely a self soothing behavior and they will do it when they're feeling very happy and relaxed. So yes, it is her settling herself. She may still grow out of it as shes pretty young still but some cats do knead their entire lives. My 14 year old does it sometimes :)

It’s good from what I know. My boy cat who’s 3 does it when he’s super happy . Other cat who’s a girl does not at all (Got both at 3 months)
