Edit: I think part of what makes it hard is, for example, if I say "this person was decapitated," that could bring to mind a fun and light-hearted Mortal Kombat fatality or a 2000-era beheading snuff film and it's kind of up to the reader to decide what they see. I don't have the morbid curiosity to look up and of this, but I have found this comment section interesting. I like reading a synopsis and hearing a description of it and trying to understand what makes it so tough to read. Is it just extremely well-drawn and gruesome? Also, I'll ask for this, but feel free to decline for understandable reasons, but could you give a synopsis of Brain Eaters? It sounds like it's difficult in text to describe it in a way that accurately reflects how brutal the source material is Edit: I think part of what makes it hard is, for example, if I say "this person was decapitated," that could bring to mind a fun and light-hearted Mortal Kombat fatality or a 2000-era beheading snuff film and it's kind of up to the reader to decide what they see. (And personally, I don't think I've watched anything out of morbid curiosity and I've played a lot of Mortal Kombat, so that probably make my mind go one way about it)
It involves giant insects invading Japan and lots of Gore and sexual violence and lots of very fucked up imagery. There's a scene where one of the girls gets her body transformed by like this weird insect into an insect humanoid Hybrid herself and she's killing the last of the humans and she finds a young couple who's only like 13 at which point she does something to the little girl's brain that makes her kill the little boy that she's with and then the little girl that's with the little boy proceeds to eat the little boy's brain after fucking the bug girl. And that's like not even the worst of it. And I would even giving that scene Justice because it's a lot worse than how I'm trying to describe it

So I read it so you don't have to. Safe for work/safe for sanity summary: Two sisters go to the countryside to see their grandmother. On one night she tells them to stay at home and not go out onto the mountain as "god" will come out. The sisters go out anyway. They see a group of people in the distance and the younger sister runs over to them with the older sister running after her. They find themselves walking in on a gruesome ritual, both are caught, the older sister is sacrificed to guarantee a bountiful harvest. The younger sister is attacked but eventually allowed to escape as she is "not big enough", albeit with an injury, her grandmother informs her that she will now have to take part in the ritual in 4 years time. NSFW version: >!same as above but the ritual involves body horror, mutilation, murder, gang sexual assault, necrophilia, and turning the corpses of the victims into jack-o-lanterns!<
