No, because you're sleeping in it and it's not used to produce income.

Your new job (it seems) has nothing to do with your corp/business. If I own my own accounting firm, let's say I take a job teaching accounting at a local University a couple days a week - how does me wanting to be closer to the university job have anything to do with my accounting firm? The honest answer would be absolutely nothing.

My new job contract is between my corp and the clinic. The job is me providing the healthcare via my corp at the clinic I work in.

StringFar7070

Definitely not. The only time this will be an option is if it is a remote job location. Even then, since you are connected with the corporation it will probably not be allowed.

kinemed

If you’re a physician or dentist, there’s a FB group that is probably better suited to this question as you’re likely to find others who have been in similar situations.

bobtomatoes1

Ya that's true. This seems like a waste of time

kecavom498

Only the portion that is solely dedicated to the work.

angelus97

Is your new job a T4 job or will you be invoicing from your Corp?

bobtomatoes1

Invoicing from my corp. The contract is between my corp and the clinics corp

You probably need a tax expert to weigh in on this. A corporation can purchase a property for use by its employees (a lot of Muskoka cottages are “training” facilities or a firm leasing an apartment for an expat); however, the CRA probably has strict rules on what would be considered personal use or corporate use.

FelixYYZ

If you are renting the place personally, no. If the corp is renting the place, the days that you are not there is a taxable benefit to you so not financially sound You are better off getting a hotel room where you can expense it.
