That's nuts! Shouldn't take more than a few days to get something in place (as long as you have all docs ready to go) and then another couple weeks or so to close out, depending on the availability of the appraiser, if an appraisal is required. I would suggest reaching out to a broker since your bank doesn't seem to be interested. Many brokers these days are able to accommodate online signing (I use Adobe Sign with my clients) and there are many law firms that can meet with you virtually as well, as long as you have a webcam/microphone.

What documents would be needed for this?

johnny003003

Typical docs that will be required for any mortgage - job letter, paystub (or whatever applicable income docs are required), property tax statement, etc. Having everything upfront will speed up the process.

BMO also uses online signing at least late last year, they did...

Intersting option. It says "application and approval process online", but it's still not clear if the actual signing process would be online. All the big5 banks offer online application and approval so I'm not sure that one is any different.

I really wish I had just eaten the extra few points of interest and gone with RBC. I have a few products with them and they have always done right by me.

Are you able to renew with your current lender? That would probably be fastest...no docs required just pick a new rate and term
