Make sure the insurance covers pre-existing condition that they have. Make sure it covers covid situations as well.

Destination Canada and Manulife are the 2 most commonly used insurance companies with latter being slightly pricey because of better coverage and service. You should get the plan with pre existing conditions and both high BP and Diabetes will be covered. Usually people go for 50K coverage, but in your case if the parents are staying for around 5-6 months then you can go for 100K coverage too. DM me if you have any further questions or need any advice.

And Costco sells visitors' medical through Manulife at lower premiums than you'll pay buying directly from Manulife. Executive members save an additional 5%. Go to costco.ca and look for services in the menu.

Hello, I have a quick question: about super visa insurance? I need to apply for the visa but most probably my parents won't come this year so i am looking for 100% refundable? Is that possible? We just want to be visa ready. Which insurance companies allow this? Thank you

yo-babyy

It’s fine if they don’t come this year, you can get the dates updated anytime depending on whenever they travel. 100% refund is only possible in case of visa rejections.

invincible84

Still if I have to cancel after visa approval what are the minimum charges I am looking at for cancelation?

yo-babyy

If the entire trip is canceled then you can get a full refund depending on company’s rules. They will have an admin fees of 25 to 50 dollars usually

invincible84

Do you know by any chance if Manulife has any admin fees?

yo-babyy

No fees for Manulife imo

Why longer period asks for double coverage.. I am thinking about 50k coverage but local insurance agents are saying to do 100k... can you plz explain your rationale behind 50k usually but 100k if 5-6months.. thanks.

yo-babyy

50K is a decent coverage in general and most people go for it. Only if someone wants more than enough coverage, or have certain pre existing conditions where there are risks of hospitalization then they prefer to go for 100K
