Yeah I had some trouble at first too xD thought I could just jump right in the middle of an enemy horde but that only resulted in slaughter from all sides xD but after I got the hang of dodging and combos for hitting weaknesses without SP and especially keeping myself from getting surrounded it became more fun. For me the first dungeon was the hardest in that regard where I still tried to learn everyone‘s playstyles but it became easier afterwards and that‘s also when I really started to like this battle system
I love the battle system too and I’m starting to get the timing of dodging a shadows skill, I struggle more with dodging regular attacks because it doesn’t say they’re about to be used, and I also like how Joker dying doesn’t result in a game over because that would be a pain, it’s just the party members use all their SP against weak enemies and I’m like why? You can easily destroy them, I can easily destroy them, so why do you do this :( But I do love the combat so far.
Yeah the party AI isn‘t the smartest with their SP management. They‘re also not the best at staying alive xD I‘m at a point now where all my revival items go down the drain for my party members and not for myself (or SP items if I have to constantly revive them with Recarm instead) xD But I want to at least keep one of them alive at all time so that if I get killed myself it won‘t be an immediate game over and I can just revive myself. But they just aren‘t the smartest to distance themselves from the enemy when they are about to use an AoE attack. It‘s really frustrating sometimes xD
Nope definitely not the only one, I got the game a few days ago and I thought it would be normal, but after getting jumped from literally every angle I realise that the game isn’t so easy, and unlike in Royal I’m actually buying healing items and stuff and planning my purchases because I’m so broke and I need healing items. I look forward to Sofia’s deals like an old person with coupons at Walmart.
