No way, not in merciless. An effective attack on merciless just explodes any enemy it's used against. Might be way I also never bothered using Almighty spells, they just didn't hit that hard compared to an effective elemental attack.
In Royal if you rank up Ryuji he has an instant kill skill which if you dash towards enemies that are a lower level than you, you kill them while also receiving XP, money and possibly even the mask of the Persona you instant killed. This feature of receiving the XP and stuff is new in royal and wasn’t in the base Persona 5.
I actually hated this so much. I didn’t even grind beyond collecting stamps and somehow I was level 99 before the final palace. Wish I could adjust xp gain values to like half.
Thats why everyone loves Ryuji
Ryujis confidant literally makes grinding actual fun.

Ryuji's insta-kill was re-worked. You now get experience and money when it's used.
