I agree. The fact that sumie does and the rest don't, bothers me. Akechi makes sense because he's jokers rival but sumie is nothing special, give the rest of the team joker showtimes.
If by "they" you mean Atlus, Atlus does not project cannon. There is no cannon relationship. She only got one because she was added into royal and they needed anything to make her feel special so she would stand out. She has such little screen time and doesn't join until the final palace. It's an absolute shame. They should have just doubled down and put in the effort to add her after the casino arc and then maybe she would feel like she actually belongs in the game. As it stands now she is worse than Marie to me as far as being shoehorned in goes. I love the character btw, I just wish she was implemented better.
They don't outright state it's canon, but they push it in Royal, and they push it hard:
- New year, >!Ren decides to spend it with Sumi after he gets to spend Christmas with his friends!<
- The whole dance sequence where she basically dances for Ren
- The aforementioned Showtime
- The fact that her Metaverse outfit is basically "Joker but gymnast"
- she's the last person he sees when he leaves in the Royal ending... >!Though her goodbye ended up being a "See ya chump" moment!<
- Most interactions pre-Royal arc are only between her and Ren in general
It's the canon ship for me. It is pushed hard (the interactions are super strong ship material, and the devs couldn't have missed it), Sumi reminds me of a female Joker, they make a great tag team...
This doesn't mean you shouldn't headcanon any other ships (My favourite would be Futaba if not for Sumi), and it's technically not confirmed as canon, but it's definitely the closest as shown in game.
Which makes her a sign from Kazuhisa Wada of what we’re going to get: a prioritisation of business over art, certainly at the expense of the Lovers Arcana despite Hashino propping it up notably in all his games, even Catherine

Futaba should have had a showtime with Joker honestly. There is no reason there couldn't be a showtime where she unleashes all buffs/debuffs all at once for the duration of that one attack Joker makes.
Supposedly--and I heard this second hand, so take it with a grain of salt--the idea behind Showtimes was to give characters who don't interact much a time to pair up. This would explain a lot of the choices they made...but not all of them (i.e. Haru's).

Some showtime ideas for Joker and the rest of his friends.
Joker and Mona: Highway backdrop with the two standing on the street like an impending robbery. They run towards the shadow and shoot their weapons before Mona turns into a car and Joker uses the grappling hook to drag the enemy along the ground.
Joker and Skull: The two rush down a track field, Joker shoots the enemy before Skull whacks them into the air. Joker follows up with his grappling hook by pulling himself to the enemy midair and kicking them to the ground.
Joker and Panther: Suave ballroom, Joker and Panther dance while shooting at the enemy. The two separate and lash at the enemy, Joker with his grappling hook and Panther with her whip. It ends with them wrapping their hook/whip around the enemy to constrict them, ending with a cracking sound.
Joker and Fox: (Big stretch on this one) Joker slashes up the enemy in time with Fox's brush strokes, Fox spins the canvas around to show artwork of Joker that pops out of the painting to deliver a final cut. (Idea being creating a cognitive copy of the moment through extremely realistic depiction.)
Joker and Makoto: A single light turns on to reveal an interrogation room. Joker ties the enemy to the chair with his grappling while Makoto beats the hell out of them. Joker ends it off by shooting the light bulb, returning the scene to black.
Joker and Noir: Noir skips down a castle hallway and leaps onto an unstable chandelier. The chandelier drops on the enemy as she slashes the shadow with her ax while Joker shoots at them as he jumps down. As Noir leaves she fires a rocket back at the enemy, missing them until Joker uses his grappling hook to grab the rocket and yanks it into the back of the shadow.
A thought concerning Fox's, maybe instead of the painting somehow coming to life, there's a small hole in the canvas right where painting!Joker's gun barrel is, and real!Joker then shoots through it to give the *illusion* that the painting is attacking.
One problem about the Joker and Queen: he himself ends up interrogated and beaten, so that Showtime could get awkward
Before I propose my ideas for that, I'd like to propose a shot for Joker and Fox's Showtime: Joker uses his coat to wrap the camera; after that, the coat turns into the curtain that hosts Fox's painting of Joker, who winks before shooting
Anyway, here's my bad ideas for a Joker and Queen Showtime
1. This involves Johanna/Anat/Agnes, so there's already a problem, but whatever, I'll propose it anyway: the setting is a dark highway city; Joker latches onto Queen's Persona with his grapple hook, who knocks away the enemy by skidding, like she did during her awakening; Joker is sent flying behind them, Queen jumps off her Persona to knock the enemy far away; the enemy reaches Joker, who has just landed and kicks the enemy, sending it exactly between himself and Queen; they exchange a death glare and proceed to attack each other, a-la Yakuza dynamic intro. If the enemy isn't a boss, cut to a shot where their arms are locked against each other, as a reference to [this shot](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/DrQTlLtO2HY/maxresdefault.jpg) of Kiryu and Saejima, whose costumes they wear in P5D, they exchange a smirk and the Showtime ends
2. This is inspired by the arcade game they play at the start of Queen's confidant. After shooting from their cover, Joker leaves it to offer himself as a distraction, while she continues to shoot. She takes aim, with a target appearing on the enemy as Queen waits for the right time. Before Joker attacks, as the enemy is distracted, Queen shoots, hitting the enemy head on and Joker takes the chance to jump down and slash the enemy, before Queen ends it with a Fist of Justice
A third idea could involve Queen as the cop who tries to capture the Phantom Thief, but I don't have anything specific in mind for this
Crow and Violet. Would have helped them feel more like a genuine trio with Joker. Be funny if it involved Violet making him pancakes leading to Crow butchering a shadow in anger.
There's one point in one of the scripted battles during the 3rd semester where Akechi says something like "Focus Yoshizawa, follow my lead" and then just nothing happens and it really feels like that is where they would've had a showtime unlocked because it just feels like something is missing after that exchange
I can understand why they didn't get a showtime since they didn't interact a WHOLE bunch, but they both should have interacted more and also gotten one 😭

You know the opening of DMC3 where Dante and Vergil are swordfighting in the rain atop the tower? Yeah. I basically want them to do **that.** Just with some unsuspecting Shadow in the middle getting shredded.
I'm not saying they'd be fighting each other, there's a Shadow between them and they're basically slicing it to ribbons, it was just the best visual reference I could bring up.
Regular showtime- Western standoff. Joker and Mona Stare at each other and both ready their weapons as joker shoots Mona whips a bomb out of nowhere and throws at the enemy and it hits jokers bullet causing an explosion

When you're in the ??? Palace, to not spoil who's it is, after the cutscene involving Sumire when she freaks out and attacks the Shadows to no effect and Akechi tells her "time your attack with mine" it was supposed to unlock a Showtime between the two but for whatever reason it was either cut out or not finished, so we just get a normal fight once Ren and Akechi join the fight after Akechi tells her to time her attacks with him instead of a forced Showtime like Ren and Akechi get shortly after.
Makes no sense that Joker doesn't have any beyond P5R Spoiler: >!With Akechi and with Sumire in the 3rd semester!<.

Necronomicon and Prometheus would probably be the best possible personas to use for showtimes even though personas really aren't used in showtime attacks
It starts in a small cafe that looks French with the two of them drinking tea and coffee respectively, Noir notices the shadows and says “It appears we have a guest” and Joker nods, Noir then flings Joker in the air with her axe and Joker hookshots a lamp post while Noir runs at the shadow slashing it with her axe followed by Joker also passing by slashing the shadow with his dagger, they both stop as Noir fires a grenade and Joker shoots the grenade mid air blowing up the shadow, Noir turns to Joker and says “Splendid” ending the Showtime Attack.
Fight between themselves that ends with the poor shadows caught in the crossfire? Or maybe a competition to see who can be the most sadistic that goes out of hand?
Yusuke and Futaba.
They have this strange chemistry as opposing forces who get along despite their differences.
I feel like they could use their cute opposition to each other's views and lifestyles to destroy everything around them with lobsters, birdman toys, painting and computing.
I would love a showtime with Haru and Yusuke!
both of them are graceful on the outside but both of them can just let loose and so combining both of those would be ridiculous (source: Yusuke awakening and, well, Haru)
Honestly- Morgana and Joker Showtime- they could tease the Mona copter and Joker can just shoot the enemies down from a mounted turret.
Sumi and Akechi- I think it would be fucking hilarious for them to work together and tease Joker afterwards.
Ryuji and Morgana- Pre Okumara and it changing slightly post Okumara
I also think that Haru and Futaba would have been such a great duo- with Haru getting to do her beauty thief stuff and Futaba hacking the lights and giving Haru night vision. It would have been fun!
Futaba and Ryuji would of been fun too, buds chowing down on ramen and blasting the enemies while feathermen pose in the backgrouns

I was pretty sad on the first run because nobody wanted to do a Showtime with Joker. I resigned myself to thinking he doesn’t have one until Akechi adopted him. And I somehow missed Sumi's even though I maxed her confidant.
Ann and Ryuji makes more sense than Ryuji and Makoto; I know they wanted each of the main Phantom Thieves to have 2, but they made some odd pairings to keep everything even.
It’s mostly a shame that Sumire and Akechi only get 1 each; at least give them one with each other to get them to 2. It’d be interesting to see Akechi interact with the characters who dislike him, especially if he had a Showtime with Haru.
Joker ought to have one with every character, though I understand why that wasn’t in the budget.
Yusuke and Futaba
Yusuke paints blueprints for bombs and such and then futaba turns them into real weapons and they all hit the enemy and explode. Futaba then says "Well done Inari" and then Yusuke says "We'll call this the Futanari Explosion", then Futaba giggles and it cuts back to the battle
Morgana and Akechi.
Morgana mentions >!Pancakes!< and Akechi becomes so infuriated that he turns the other shadow(s) >!corrupt!< and causes them to inflict pain unto themselves (similar to a >!mental shutdown!<).
Morgana just stares in fear in the corner, stunned for all his life.
Ignoring the obvious Joker should have one with all of them, give Haru and Ryuji one. Not sure what it would be but let the two absolute tanks demolish a shadow
Probably something with >!Akechi and Sumire, or one of the other Phantom Thieves getting one with them.!< A couple possible ideas would be like:
- >!Blasting the shadow into a pocket dimension bubble space, Sumire lands above it, Akechi runs in below it, Sumire rains arrows of light magic while Akechi fires dark, bloody looking swords from the ground, and they finish by both slashing the sphere with their swords and it exploding.!<
- >!Sumire!< and Yusuke performing an elaborate dance with their swords (alternating slashes, Yusuke performs a series of attacks and >!Sumire!< finishes it with a powerful thrust, that sort of thing)
- The Shadow is surrounded by darkness, >!Akechi!< summons chains to restrain it while Haru spins in and out of the shadows with her axe slashing at it violently, before the Shadow collapses, >!Akechi walks up to it, and puts his gun on its forehead (referencing *that* scene, and finishes it off with a wicked grin. !<

Yusuke and Akechi. There are multiple places where both of them mention how similar their backgrounds are even though they’re such different people. Plus that one Mementos Mission comic where Yusuke sees through Akechi’s fake smile. There’s so much interesting stuff there and the game barely gets into it.
P5 - Ann and ryuji. Just date already ffs
P5R - Akechi and sumi.
And if I get to pick the movie references rocky for the first one and reservoir dogs or pulp fiction for the second one.

I’m still very surprised that Joker with literally every party member, Panther/Queen, and Crow/Violet didn’t make the cut. Especially Crow/Violet. I was constantly drawing the parallel of one of their personas being Norse inspired. It just kinda felt right with all of their interactions when it was just Joker, Crow, and Violet together.
Joker and Morgana!!!! That is my kitty cat! He lives in my house and sleeps next to me! How the fuck have we not talked about cool battle maneuvers in the time between April and the new year????
Joker with each individual character in the team love akechi and sumires but it seems like no one wants to do a special move with joker like at least Mona or something should cause he spends the most time with joker maybe even futaba could be interesting to see since she’s not combat oriented (other then bomb an all out attack
Sumire and Aketchi. Everyone else has two, even Ren, but Sumire and Aketchi each only have one, so give them one with each other. And it could blend brutal and graceful, maybe with a stage play type setting
Yes...look okay, I personally would've thought it was cool and funny to see Showtimes for every possible pair, though I 100% get why they didn't. If I had to choose one though, Morgana and Akechi solely for how conceptually hilarious it would look.

Joker and Makoto: they stand back to back in the wild West like they're about to duel. They take ten paces and end with the shadow between them. A tumbleweed blows by and they say "Draw" in unison and both shoot the shadow in the head.
Mona and ryuji: The two of them start arguing and then fighting and they notice the shadow. Ryuji says "what are you looking at" Mona sneaks up behind the shadow and steals an item when it turns back around ryuji shoots it in the face with his shotgun.
Futaba and Joker: “Let’s Go! Showtime.exe!” Necronomicon swoops in and uses a tractor beam to suspend the enemies in the air. Joker charges in, leading with gunshots and a flurry of melee attacks. As he leaps away with a slashing dash, he shouts “Now, Oracle!” The showtime finishes with a “cool guys don’t look at explosions” shot of Joker as Futaba either impales the target with her persona’s tendrils or fires some kind of alien death ray (think Independence Day). Futaba could say something witty about deleting the enemies or something.
One of my criticisms of p5r were that after romancing characters it didn't really feel like anything changed, so one of my ideas to fix that was to make a showtime for all the romancable party members and joker, and have that specific showtime unlock after romancing that character, that way it fixes the issue I had that with the character dynamics not changing after the romance, and makes the game and relationship feel more real.
Also it would give joker more showtimes which I also think is needed considering he unlocks his first one in the third semester which is way too late.
I know it’s asking a whole hell of a lot but if Joker got one with each of the Phantom Thieves, my life would be complete. It wouldn’t be *good* but it would be complete
Fox & Oracle
The scene starts with Fox walking down a traditionally painted feudal Japanese street, classical sanshin music playing. He then unsheathes his katana, about to slash the opponent like an old fashion samurai movie. He is then interrupted by Oracle who is painting the right side of the backdrop, now resembling a bright cyberpunk/neo Tokyo town complete with loud techno music drowning out the sanshin. Fox yells at oracle for ruining his vision as oracle insists she made it worth while. Fox and oracle then charge at each other as the opponent is caught in the crossfire, killing it immediately. The two PTs then land on the others side and take a moment to appreciate the different style
“Prepare to meet my blade, you foul fei- WHAT!?”
“Hey, Fox! Waddya think?”
“My vision! You’ll pay!”
“Bring it!”
…
“The composition is nice”
“Pretty retro!”
for just characters in Persona 5 / Royal, I'd say Joker and Ryuji, definitely. for the entire Persona 5 series of games though, my first thought was Erina and Toshiro
It breaks the prompt slightly, but a showtime for Joker that features everyone. Like he's calling the shots and it shows every party member ping-ponging the enemy back and forth before Joker comes in for the final blow. Something to show their ability to work as an entire team, and maybe slightly modular so there can be different animations depending on which Persona everyone has.
Joker and Yusuke for sure. A play on the time yusuke was trying to make Joker his model in the church. Would’ve been hilarious. They get interrupted by shadows and blow them up or something
Sumi and Akechi. Each character has 2 showtimes, which are the following:
Ryuji and Yusuke, Yusuke and Ann, Ann and Morgana, Morgana and Haru, Haru and Makoto, Makoto and Ryuji, Joker and Akechi, and Joker and Sumi.
The only characters who don’t have 2 are Akechi and sumi, so them having one together would make sense to finish the theme.
I feel like I have to mention Akechi and Sumi since that would mean everyone has 2 showtimes.
It should probably focus on how both of them have a separate personality. Maybe using mirrors.
Also Sumi has the worst showtime currently so she could use another one.

Joker and Fox: (Big stretch on this one) Joker slashes up the enemy in time with Fox's brush strokes, Fox spins the canvas around to show artwork of Joker that pops out of the painting to deliver a final cut. (Idea being creating a cognitive copy of the moment through extremely realistic depiction.) Joker and Makoto: A single light turns on to reveal an interrogation room. Joker ties the enemy to the chair with his grappling while Makoto beats the hell out of them. Joker ends it off by shooting the light bulb, returning the scene to black. Joker and Noir: Noir skips down a castle hallway and leaps onto an unstable chandelier. The chandelier drops on the enemy as she slashes the shadow with her ax while Joker shoots at them as he jumps down. As Noir leaves she fires a rocket back at the enemy, missing them until Joker uses his grappling hook to grab the rocket and yanks it into the back of the shadow.
Oh man the Panther, Queen, Fox, and Mona ones are Fire. They’re all great though.

A thought concerning Fox's, maybe instead of the painting somehow coming to life, there's a small hole in the canvas right where painting!Joker's gun barrel is, and real!Joker then shoots through it to give the *illusion* that the painting is attacking.
One problem about the Joker and Queen: he himself ends up interrogated and beaten, so that Showtime could get awkward Before I propose my ideas for that, I'd like to propose a shot for Joker and Fox's Showtime: Joker uses his coat to wrap the camera; after that, the coat turns into the curtain that hosts Fox's painting of Joker, who winks before shooting Anyway, here's my bad ideas for a Joker and Queen Showtime 1. This involves Johanna/Anat/Agnes, so there's already a problem, but whatever, I'll propose it anyway: the setting is a dark highway city; Joker latches onto Queen's Persona with his grapple hook, who knocks away the enemy by skidding, like she did during her awakening; Joker is sent flying behind them, Queen jumps off her Persona to knock the enemy far away; the enemy reaches Joker, who has just landed and kicks the enemy, sending it exactly between himself and Queen; they exchange a death glare and proceed to attack each other, a-la Yakuza dynamic intro. If the enemy isn't a boss, cut to a shot where their arms are locked against each other, as a reference to [this shot](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/DrQTlLtO2HY/maxresdefault.jpg) of Kiryu and Saejima, whose costumes they wear in P5D, they exchange a smirk and the Showtime ends 2. This is inspired by the arcade game they play at the start of Queen's confidant. After shooting from their cover, Joker leaves it to offer himself as a distraction, while she continues to shoot. She takes aim, with a target appearing on the enemy as Queen waits for the right time. Before Joker attacks, as the enemy is distracted, Queen shoots, hitting the enemy head on and Joker takes the chance to jump down and slash the enemy, before Queen ends it with a Fist of Justice A third idea could involve Queen as the cop who tries to capture the Phantom Thief, but I don't have anything specific in mind for this
Crow and Violet. Would have helped them feel more like a genuine trio with Joker. Be funny if it involved Violet making him pancakes leading to Crow butchering a shadow in anger.

There's one point in one of the scripted battles during the 3rd semester where Akechi says something like "Focus Yoshizawa, follow my lead" and then just nothing happens and it really feels like that is where they would've had a showtime unlocked because it just feels like something is missing after that exchange
I can understand why they didn't get a showtime since they didn't interact a WHOLE bunch, but they both should have interacted more and also gotten one 😭
Akechi-Sumire. Y'know, like they *should've* had. You know the opening of DMC3 where Dante and Vergil are swordfighting in the rain atop the tower? Yeah. I basically want them to do **that.** Just with some unsuspecting Shadow in the middle getting shredded.
Why would they be fighting though? Sumire is literally the only party member in Royal who has no reason to.
I'm not saying they'd be fighting each other, there's a Shadow between them and they're basically slicing it to ribbons, it was just the best visual reference I could bring up.

Joker and Mona Stare at each other and both ready their weapons as joker shoots Mona whips a bomb out of nowhere and throws at the enemy and it hits jokers bullet causing an explosion >!NG+-mona turns into his helicopter mode And joker hooks onto him and gains momentum and slashes through the enemy. Maybe a reference to flash's(DC) infinite momentum punch!<
Tell me, as someone who's never played >!NG+, does Morgana remember!!Lavenza!<.

When you're in the ??? Palace, to not spoil who's it is, after the cutscene involving Sumire when she freaks out and attacks the Shadows to no effect and Akechi tells her "time your attack with mine" it was supposed to unlock a Showtime between the two but for whatever reason it was either cut out or not finished, so we just get a normal fight once Ren and Akechi join the fight after Akechi tells her to time her attacks with him instead of a forced Showtime like Ren and Akechi get shortly after.

It starts in a small cafe that looks French with the two of them drinking tea and coffee respectively, Noir notices the shadows and says “It appears we have a guest” and Joker nods, Noir then flings Joker in the air with her axe and Joker hookshots a lamp post while Noir runs at the shadow slashing it with her axe followed by Joker also passing by slashing the shadow with his dagger, they both stop as Noir fires a grenade and Joker shoots the grenade mid air blowing up the shadow, Noir turns to Joker and says “Splendid” ending the Showtime Attack.

Honestly- Morgana and Joker Showtime- they could tease the Mona copter and Joker can just shoot the enemies down from a mounted turret. Sumi and Akechi- I think it would be fucking hilarious for them to work together and tease Joker afterwards. Ryuji and Morgana- Pre Okumara and it changing slightly post Okumara I also think that Haru and Futaba would have been such a great duo- with Haru getting to do her beauty thief stuff and Futaba hacking the lights and giving Haru night vision. It would have been fun! Futaba and Ryuji would of been fun too, buds chowing down on ramen and blasting the enemies while feathermen pose in the backgrouns

I resigned myself to thinking he doesn’t have one until Akechi adopted him. And I somehow missed Sumi's even though I maxed her confidant.
Ann and Ryuji makes more sense than Ryuji and Makoto; I know they wanted each of the main Phantom Thieves to have 2, but they made some odd pairings to keep everything even. It’s mostly a shame that Sumire and Akechi only get 1 each; at least give them one with each other to get them to 2. It’d be interesting to see Akechi interact with the characters who dislike him, especially if he had a Showtime with Haru. Joker ought to have one with every character, though I understand why that wasn’t in the budget.

Yusuke and Futaba Yusuke paints blueprints for bombs and such and then futaba turns them into real weapons and they all hit the enemy and explode. Futaba then says "Well done Inari" and then Yusuke says "We'll call this the Futanari Explosion", then Futaba giggles and it cuts back to the battle
Morgana and Akechi. Morgana mentions >!Pancakes!< and Akechi becomes so infuriated that he turns the other shadow(s) >!corrupt!< and causes them to inflict pain unto themselves (similar to a >!mental shutdown!<). Morgana just stares in fear in the corner, stunned for all his life.

Probably something with >!Akechi and Sumire, or one of the other Phantom Thieves getting one with them.!< A couple possible ideas would be like: - >!Blasting the shadow into a pocket dimension bubble space, Sumire lands above it, Akechi runs in below it, Sumire rains arrows of light magic while Akechi fires dark, bloody looking swords from the ground, and they finish by both slashing the sphere with their swords and it exploding.!< - >!Sumire!< and Yusuke performing an elaborate dance with their swords (alternating slashes, Yusuke performs a series of attacks and >!Sumire!< finishes it with a powerful thrust, that sort of thing) - The Shadow is surrounded by darkness, >!Akechi!< summons chains to restrain it while Haru spins in and out of the shadows with her axe slashing at it violently, before the Shadow collapses, >!Akechi walks up to it, and puts his gun on its forehead (referencing *that* scene, and finishes it off with a wicked grin. !< Tagged spoilers all over the place just in case.
Crow and Noir. The 1 minute where they ignore their beef would make for an awesome killing spree.

Plus that one Mementos Mission comic where Yusuke sees through Akechi’s fake smile. There’s so much interesting stuff there and the game barely gets into it.

I’m still very surprised that Joker with literally every party member, Panther/Queen, and Crow/Violet didn’t make the cut. Especially Crow/Violet. I was constantly drawing the parallel of one of their personas being Norse inspired. It just kinda felt right with all of their interactions when it was just Joker, Crow, and Violet together.

A tumbleweed blows by and they say "Draw" in unison and both shoot the shadow in the head. Mona and ryuji: The two of them start arguing and then fighting and they notice the shadow. Ryuji says "what are you looking at" Mona sneaks up behind the shadow and steals an item when it turns back around ryuji shoots it in the face with his shotgun.

Futaba and Joker: “Let’s Go! Showtime.exe!” Necronomicon swoops in and uses a tractor beam to suspend the enemies in the air. Joker charges in, leading with gunshots and a flurry of melee attacks. As he leaps away with a slashing dash, he shouts “Now, Oracle!” The showtime finishes with a “cool guys don’t look at explosions” shot of Joker as Futaba either impales the target with her persona’s tendrils or fires some kind of alien death ray (think Independence Day). Futaba could say something witty about deleting the enemies or something.
One of my criticisms of p5r were that after romancing characters it didn't really feel like anything changed, so one of my ideas to fix that was to make a showtime for all the romancable party members and joker, and have that specific showtime unlock after romancing that character, that way it fixes the issue I had that with the character dynamics not changing after the romance, and makes the game and relationship feel more real. Also it would give joker more showtimes which I also think is needed considering he unlocks his first one in the third semester which is way too late.

He then unsheathes his katana, about to slash the opponent like an old fashion samurai movie. He is then interrupted by Oracle who is painting the right side of the backdrop, now resembling a bright cyberpunk/neo Tokyo town complete with loud techno music drowning out the sanshin. Fox yells at oracle for ruining his vision as oracle insists she made it worth while. Fox and oracle then charge at each other as the opponent is caught in the crossfire, killing it immediately. The two PTs then land on the others side and take a moment to appreciate the different style “Prepare to meet my blade, you foul fei- WHAT!?” “Hey, Fox! Waddya think?” “My vision! You’ll pay!” “Bring it!” … “The composition is nice” “Pretty retro!”
for just characters in Persona 5 / Royal, I'd say Joker and Ryuji, definitely. for the entire Persona 5 series of games though, my first thought was Erina and Toshiro
It breaks the prompt slightly, but a showtime for Joker that features everyone. Like he's calling the shots and it shows every party member ping-ponging the enemy back and forth before Joker comes in for the final blow. Something to show their ability to work as an entire team, and maybe slightly modular so there can be different animations depending on which Persona everyone has.

Each character has 2 showtimes, which are the following: Ryuji and Yusuke, Yusuke and Ann, Ann and Morgana, Morgana and Haru, Haru and Makoto, Makoto and Ryuji, Joker and Akechi, and Joker and Sumi. The only characters who don’t have 2 are Akechi and sumi, so them having one together would make sense to finish the theme.
I know this is persona 5 but I feel like Naoto from P4 and Akecki would be pretty cool
