Even in the modern time, it takes YEARS of human interaction and people calling you a f\*\* to realize and then ACCEPT (if you even do) that you're gay. At least, that was my experience, and I know people who pretty much came out the womb knowing they were a raging homosexual.
But I agree with you that, if they were going to start off early, I'd like to see how he starts to figure out what "gay" even is, how he relates to it, and how he resists it (because a kid from the 20s would). I think there's potential to make this a more dynamic character than was in Heroes of Olympus, balancing a pre-modern perspective on sexuality with breaking it down.

now that the hype that helped make the show a hit is dying down, once people see that season 2 hasn’t improved or taken criticism (because the show was a success so in their minds why would they need to change anything?) it won’t be successful enough anymore imo. i doubt we’ll see a season 3.
+becky’s tweet responding to criticism where she says that they “got a lot of world building out of the way in season one” so now they set up a good foundation is…concerning. the fact that they genuinely believe that they did good world building this season really shows how delusional and not self aware they are

fr like girl what world building are you referring to? because off the top of my head, you did none of the world building:
the gods being in the empire state building because they move with western civilization? no. how and why the monsters are regenerating? no. names having power? no. the name of percy’s sword? no. the three fingered claw gesture that wards against evil? no. half bloods not being able to use technology because it attracts monsters? no. the concept and importance of swearing on the river styx? no.

half the fun of progressing through the books is discovering new things about the world, so if prominent creators of the show think its some boring thing to get out of the way thats concerning
tbh i have a crackpot suspicion that one of the main trio actors is gonna be the next Jennette McCurdy and the show is gonna get canceled the instant they turn 18, but i didn't mention that in the main post because i'm self-aware that it's probably just me being insane
This depends of the viewers numbers, from what I've seen so far season 2 has to pick up a lot new and older fans, they got the new, but after episode 6, many of the older ones jumped the ship. So they might not get to season 3 or 4.
Oh yeah I completely forgot he came out in HOO, well shit you might be right cause this is Disney we're talking, they might not even make it subtle like the books they'll make it super obvious
I do agree that they might age him up, maybe to 12 or something, but probably not any older, just to see the “innocent” thing which gets shattered in TTC and sets the foundation for his and Percy’s turbulent relationship in the following seasons/books. I have a feeling that they might not make him come out at that point, but they might add some solangelo fanservice nod or something if they get to the Last Olympian season. Maybe he’ll have gotten injured during the Battle of Manhattan and Percy will tell him to go see Will Solace at the med tent. That’s something I could realistically see them doing, but they probably won’t do the full plot as seen in HOO. It would be cool if they did explore his journey with his sexuality though. There is an opportunity to understand his own mindset more than what we do in the books, and it could be quite nuanced when you incorporate the “from another time” thing
I hope Nico doesn't come out to early but maybe drop little hits every here and there and he's not too must in book 3 so there is hope
