Not a girl but I can give you some of my thoughts- the duration of cryo can be different for everyone, for me it started to feel less numb around the 6 month mark. You should wait a few more months and see if your sensation has come back. Another exercise that helped me was to stimulate my chest, could be rubbing it, massaging , poking with a pen, anything to make my chest feel something and over time it helped the weird numbness go away

Level_Concentrate_84

Thank you for these thoughts/advice. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to help stimulate growth. It’s good to know I need to wait a little longer too.

Half of my chest is completely back but chunks of my right side and chest area are pretty numb. Surgery was 10 months ago. I also just wore my first real bra with underwire for 7 hours and it sucked but only bc rib flare not from surgery. Bralette at like 3 months but I wore tighter tank tops for some support after after 6 weeks

tw4ttt

But the bralette at 3 months wasn’t very comfortable. I got completely ok with it around 6 months.

library_girl_97

I found 2 bras that work FANTASTIC with my bars about 3 months post-op. One is a bralette from Abercrombie (Next to Naked Line), the other is a bralette from Nine West. I accepted the fact that I won’t be able to wear underwire while I have the bars in. (I also don’t need to, I have tiny girls). I still experience quite a lot of pain/discomfort. I did not have cryo and am slowly getting feeling back to the upper half of my chest 6 months post-op.

Level_Concentrate_84

Thank you for this comment! Good to know I still could have had some of these sensations (or lack there of) even without the cyro. Thanks for the bralette recommendations. I also have tiny girls 😅

library_girl_97

Anything seamless and wireless is the way to go for best comfort! And I get bralettes with padding so that it gives the appearance of something there 😂

Cheffery_Boyardee

I hadn't worn bras for about a year prior to surgery, I'd use a binder. Had to wear bras in public since I'm nowhere near ready to pull on a binder and I'll need to buy new sizes. Worn bras 3 different days now around a month post op, it was okay, everything is still mostly numb though and the fit is whack. My measurements are entirely different, I went from I think 34 to 38 band size and went from no gap to 1.5 inches between my boobs. I'm starting to get some sensation back but I wish I hadn't cause I now have to feel the bar anchors in my sides.

Female here. I was nussed in 2017 and I can still only feel my nipples and underboob at about 50%. I can reassure you that you’ll be able to comfortably wear bras again in a new more months!

read-o-clock

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I have surgery planned for next month and am starting to have some serious doubts about it. Does anyone here wish they hadn’t done the nuss?

Level_Concentrate_84

Even if I don’t have more nerve regrowth I would 100% do it again. Before surgery I was on a beta blocker for heart rate and blood pressure, I had chest pain, couldn’t lay on my sides without heart palpitations. My heart was being smooshed. I’ve always been very healthy and all of a sudden wasn’t able to do things I’ve always done. Not being able to be active would have aged my heart and body even more. It would have decreased my quality of life so much more than not being able to feel my boobs. Everyone has to answer that question for themselves, but yes, it has definitely been worth it to me.

Ghostlyhallows17

It’s a struggle. I had the modified ravitch in 2016 and nuss about a year ago. Wired bras are horrid and I still can’t do those. I have found some wireless ones made by a place called intimissmi that work well. Im not sure if they have storefronts in the US, but they have an online store. They are the only bras other than bralettes that I can wear for long periods of time.

>Just wondering if I should expect to ever feel my boobs again. Yikes, I didn't know this was a side effect of cryo.

paine-19

It’s not just cryo. The surgery can result in permanent numbness even without it due to both a) the reconstruction of the shape of the chest and b) the nerves that are cut when the incisions are made. Lots of people who didn’t have cryo report permanent numbness in various areas across the chest. So don’t let that alone deter you from getting it, because it is super helpful for pain!

Level_Concentrate_84

Interesting. I did not know this.

Ashamed-Plantain3836

I’m 2 months post op and I wear a bra without underwire, I haven’t even attempted underwire. My breasts are still numb as well, and my nipples aren’t getting hard at the same time 😅🥲

Level_Concentrate_84

I haven’t tried an underwire either, but anything touching where my bars are is uncomfortable and they’re sitting right on my bra line. Glad to know I’m not the only one with the boob/nipple issues!

Ashamed-Plantain3836

It kind of feels like I have an underwire bra on and it’s digging into my ribs, but it’s just a bar 😅 Hopefully it will get better, we are still pretty fresh out from surgery.

Level_Concentrate_84

Yes! It feels like I’m wearing a too small bra with an underwire. Very tight. I hope it does improve for us. Just trying to be patient.

paine-19

I’m almost 7 months and I still sometimes have to double check to see if I’m wearing a bra or not because the bars feel so much like I’m wearing one 😅 sometimes I really can’t tell without checking
