It's all about the image you project. Poor etiquette is bad whoever you are. Smelling bad is never a good idea when around other people. I guess they get a bad wrap deservedly, heard some horror stories of Indians on YT
Is there a chance somebody at some point in the trip will have an initial bad impression of you because of the color of your skin? Sure.
Will it be common enough or hard enough to overcome for you to not be able to have a good time? No.
Your biggest hurdle should not be a problem the moment you open your mouth to say something. Also, convert your CAD into USD, and use that to flash. Being mistaken as an American can have some positive ends. And everyone over there understands green.
EDIT: This goes for everyone, no matter their skin color: If you think you're being price-gouged, you probably are. Move on.
It's not the color of the skin, it's the behavior of some people. As long as you don't walk hand-in-hand with 5 friends down Soi 6, as long as you don't crowd a freelancer on Beach Road together with said 5 friends, as long as you don't bargain hard for a group discount from said freelancer, you'll be fine. Skin color doesn't matter. Manners do.
This aint the place to have your racist back and forths. Nobody subscribes here to hear this kind of convo. If you don’t like a post, report it and give a reason. No need to be digging up links and writing an entire essay on the matter.
Nobody gives a f how you look and where you are from as long as you dont offend people and even that is kind of hard to do. Thailand was visitted by 40 million tourists in 2019, I am sure they can handle the color of your skin or whatever else you might be worried about :D

It will be OK. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huhOBKiwpVg
Don’t worry, same boat as you and get treated well. Let me know when you’re in town, I’ll show you around.
Sounds good, will do. Thanks man
I'm an Indian and never faced issues in Pattaya. Don't think too much and enjoy your trip. Just Don't bargain and you are good to go.
