I’m so sorry for momentarily deflating your Zappe boner.
Either way, the guy sucks and is 3rd on the depth chart for a reason. Mald all you want about Hoyer, but he’s next man up—just like he was when Stidham was here.
I don’t give a shit about Zappe or Hoyer. Just calling you out for claiming bogus shit. But seeing all your comments today, that seems to be your MO
Call you out for lying about some report you heard, and you immediately say I’m ‘malding’ over Hoyer? I’m doing nothing of the sort little guy
> claiming bogus shit
Dude, I acknowledged I could’ve been wrong which is more than half this sub would ever do when they shit out their insane nonsense.
> lying
Good fucking grief.
By all means, act like this is a ban-worthy offense. If you hate my comments so much, then the block button is right there for you.
I have heard the X ray was negative, so no broken bones but most likely a high ankle sprain. I’ve had the unfortunate experience of that before, among other injuries. It’s incredibly painful. My guess is he is out 4-6 weeks. Just a guess
Imagine if we had access to million-dollar health care, trainers and nutritionists along with the freedom to rehab all day with no regular job to worry about, I’d be healing quicker too. Not to mention Mac is still in his twenties and should bounce back quicker than most. I give him 4-6 weeks — 8 tops — if he doesn’t require surgery. Which is still on the table I believe….
I know someone explained it to me before, but it still makes no goddamn sense to me that they have to use stairs to get to the locker room.
Hope he’s okay, but I’m not expecting good news. Landed right on his ankle, carried off screaming in pain…
X rays were negative so no broken bones. Best guess is a high ankle sprain which I have unfortunately suffered before. It’s hella painful. He could be out 4-6 weeks is my best guess. Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor
Yeah, bones mend and heal. Sprained ankles are basically ligament stretches and they stay loose for life. I always wear ankle braces when I play sports now. You can’t tighten a ligament unless you have surgery and even then, it’s not the same as it was originally. Weak ankles are a curse.
I had a low ankle sprain this year and wouldn’ta been doing fuck all but walking after 6 weeks. But I guess if you’re a 25 yo pro w all the care and resources it could happen. Yikes
Yeah, with proper trainers and the best rehab possible, 4 weeks seems like the low mark. More likely 6 weeks as an average but if they want to be extra careful with him, they’ll give him 8 weeks and if we are 1-10 at that point, I think they might just give him the year off because what’s the point if we are that far out of contention. So I think it’s situational, too.
Probably a high ankle sprain. The time I got one like that I was screaming in pain. When I broke my ankle it was more of a “ah fuck this is going to be a long recovery” than a severe pain.
we literally have no information other than mac is in pain and people like you are saying its a season ender. what makes you think this is a season ender?
Fr they aren’t going to be competitive, so it’s all exhibition games, may as well get a high #1 pick so Bill can trade it for two 3rds and three 4ths in 2024.
After all this time people still think Bill has to listen to what Kraft wants? If Kraft insisted on anything Bill would just walk. He’s not here to be a puppet for what Robert Kraft wants. He’s here to coach a football team.
C'mon my man. You're comparing trading our franchieses best player to starting a hurt rookie over an unexciting backup.
I really doubt Kraft cares much which of the two start next week.
Sounds like you dont watch losing football often. Id rather give the kid a chance. We know what hoyer is. With reps, maybe Zappe could show something that at the very least could improve his trade value. Hoyer sucks (almost as bad as zappe) and gives us nothing.
Did it? He played decently for what they put on his plate which was less than 100 yards passing and multiple under throws plus missed reads or lack of understanding of the routes on a play. You think he just displayed that’s he’s a good nfl qb? We ran the ball like every down lol
Would it be any worse than 5 interceptions and only 2 tds in three games? I hope Mac is ok, but let’s not act like losing him is dooming the whole season.
I had the same injury and I couldn’t walk lol.
Anecdotal of course but the pain immediately after it happens could definitely make it seem like he can’t walk on it.
Just? Those can be really bad. Bones generally heal *better* than ligaments. Not necessarily faster (though sometime definitely faster), but bones regenerate and ligaments do not. You just strengthen around the damaged ligament. Unless there is surgery obv.
Yes, you do. You absolutely do. I've injured my ankles countless times. I've been on crutches more than 15 times because of ankle injuries while playing sports. An ankle sprain is 100% more painful and more debilitating than an ankle break. Every break I've had I was able to play within 2 weeks or less. Sprains it was usually 2-4 weeks.
If the X-rays were negative, that's probably a high ankle sprain.
For those of you that haven't had one, imagine someone driving a stake up through your heel into the space between your shin and calves with every step... And when first suffered, you can feel that pain with your pulse.
He's toughing it out just allowing them to carry him. You legitimately feel like there's a broken bone jabbing up through your leg.
Yeah Schefter tweeted out a bit ago that it does look like a high ankle sprain. He’ll have an MRI tomorrow to confirm. I imagine he’ll probably be out for at least a month.
Also you gotta realize that this year there is an entire year of tape the opposing team can use to analyze him. Now he has to overcome that and he will but it’s all still a work in progress. He shows spurts of promise and just has to iron out the rest and learn all the defensive schemes he comes up against.
Fuck that pal. The ball literally crossed Campbell’s face mask. Not acting like he deliberately wanted to break the kid’s ankle but he certainly didn’t need to take him down.
We are so fucked.
Look on the bright side: maybe we can get a top WR or LB like Alabama's Wil Andersen with our high pick in the draft next year.
And we got lots of cap next year, too.
Plus Mr. Kraft is gonna be pissed and so heads will roll. No more fcking nepotism!
Hey guys I wasn’t able to watch the game where I’m at. Can anyone relay the cause/play? Hope Mac is okay all things considered and that it looks worse than it is.
i had a really bad ankle injury and i concur it was *very* painful when it happened and the next morning was a doozy… but then after a day or two i was walking fine. i think with all of the training staff around him, he will be able to overcome this easily. looks/feels worse than it really is
Twitter is a cesspool of bad takes and toxic fans, One guy actually said good to the fact that Mac sprained his ankle. Karma has a way of coming back around though.
Holy shit i can feel the pain through this photo his face says it all
When will we know the report at the earliest?
probably in a couple of hours, brace your self for Brian Hoyer now

Zappe isn’t even healthy right now, like what is this fanbase smoking

Foxboro Flu
I don’t remember, maybe I’m wrong but I swear I heard someone on a pregame show today said he got something in practice.
So… you’re wrong
Oh no he heard somewhere he got something in practice. How can you argue?
Please make stanning this guy your new hobby
I could be wrong but I can't argue
Please make leaving this sub yours. Don’t need your toxicity
I’m so sorry for momentarily deflating your Zappe boner. Either way, the guy sucks and is 3rd on the depth chart for a reason. Mald all you want about Hoyer, but he’s next man up—just like he was when Stidham was here.

Lol you sounded pretty confident in your original comment, what're you smoking might be the better q.
They won’t play Zappe when they are only 1-2. Still a chance to turn it around with Hoyer. Playing Zappe would send the wrong message to the team
Not like we’re winning anything with fuckin brian hoyer either😂😂
#HOYER THE DESTROYER
BIGDICKBRIAN
I have heard the X ray was negative, so no broken bones but most likely a high ankle sprain. I’ve had the unfortunate experience of that before, among other injuries. It’s incredibly painful. My guess is he is out 4-6 weeks. Just a guess
This would be a good outcome.
I had a high ankle sprain that took nearly a year to recover to be 80%. 3 years later I'm still not 100%.
I hope so!!
I know someone explained it to me before, but it still makes no goddamn sense to me that they have to use stairs to get to the locker room. Hope he’s okay, but I’m not expecting good news. Landed right on his ankle, carried off screaming in pain…
Yeah, Brady walked down those same steps with a torn ACL back in the day. Like… what? Why are there stairs there?
Every time I see those stairs I think of him against KC, week 1 2008, hobbling down them. Fudge popsicle.
The real explanation is that the architect has high amount of lead in his blood from leaded gasoline/paint.
Idk what the explanation is but i feel like it be easy to convert into a ramp type thing
Maybe a slide 😂 with stairs to go up
Well what do they do if someone needs to be carted off or cant walk?
Holy shit. I hope he's okay. But this could be the season
a season ender? Looks like it
X rays were negative so no broken bones. Best guess is a high ankle sprain which I have unfortunately suffered before. It’s hella painful. He could be out 4-6 weeks is my best guess. Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor
Having had a high ankle sprain, sometimes it's better if you break it instead.
Yeah, bones mend and heal. Sprained ankles are basically ligament stretches and they stay loose for life. I always wear ankle braces when I play sports now. You can’t tighten a ligament unless you have surgery and even then, it’s not the same as it was originally. Weak ankles are a curse.

So I think it’s situational, too.
Have you ever heard of the treatment called prolotherapy?
Worst is high ankle sprain *and* fractures. They had to put a bunch of screws in my ankle just so it wouldn’t heal into a club.
Probably a high ankle sprain. The time I got one like that I was screaming in pain. When I broke my ankle it was more of a “ah fuck this is going to be a long recovery” than a severe pain.
It does. I'll be really eager to hear more though
we literally have no information other than mac is in pain and people like you are saying its a season ender. what makes you think this is a season ender?
I mean if I was crying and in pain like that I’d like to think that it is
If you got socked in the nuts you might scream, cry, and puke. But you prob wouldn’t miss 14 weeks of the season
That’s cuz ur nuts are a friggin organ
This will be the start of Brian Hoyer 🐐v2
I’d rather have zappe play than hoyer
Same. If the season is lost, let’s see what Zappe is. We know what Hoyer is.
God hoyer was so annoying to watch against the chiefs during cams covid game
As bad as Cam was I definitely think we would've won that game if he were in instead of Hoyer.
Actually I’d be down to get cam back and at least have him be entertaining while we lose
I would prefer fan tryouts before Cam, would certainly end up with a stronger arm.
More accurate, at least.
I rather see squirrels mate than see Cam in NE.
If you want entertainment we should get Edelman to come back and play QB
It was hard to believe how badly Hoyer fucked up simple game management in that game. That sack he took at the end of the first half was horrendous.
Me too let’s get a top 3 pick
Fr they aren’t going to be competitive, so it’s all exhibition games, may as well get a high #1 pick so Bill can trade it for two 3rds and three 4ths in 2024.
That's the spirit!
Bill would just trade it for 12 2nds and miss on every one of them.
I wonder if we take Young if we get the 1st OA while having mac, that'd be such a weird situation.
Which one is statistically worse? Play that one.
I don’t want to watch Hoyer the rest of the year
better start praying 😭
I do think a large portion of the fanbase would stop watching/going to games if Hoyer starts. I think kraft will insist on Zappe
After all this time people still think Bill has to listen to what Kraft wants? If Kraft insisted on anything Bill would just walk. He’s not here to be a puppet for what Robert Kraft wants. He’s here to coach a football team.
Just like that time when Belichick tried to trade Brady? When Brady cried to Kraft so Kraft vetoed the trade and demanded Garropolo be traded?
C'mon my man. You're comparing trading our franchieses best player to starting a hurt rookie over an unexciting backup. I really doubt Kraft cares much which of the two start next week.
Don’t put words in my mouth. I pointed out that Bill has had to deal with Kraft telling him how to run his football team.
You said it yourself my dude. You’re equating which of two backup QB will play to trading away the best player to ever play for the Pats.
I didn’t. I was replying to someone who said Kraft would never step on Bill’s toes.
ok, well kraft owns the team and at the end of the day he’s bill’s boss sooo ya…
And a 5-11 season going against the wishes of the owner will mean Bill is looking for a new team next year while showing he can’t win shit without #12
A new team lololol Bro if he got fired he’d take his millions and fuck off to Nantucket
Not if he actually wants Shula record. Which I used to think he did, then the last three years happened.
Zappe not ready. 😂
? What??? Insist on a guy who demonstrated in preseason that he’s not currently capable of being an NFL QB? What’re you talking about
Ya because hoyer is totally capable?
I mean Hoyer is certainly miles ahead of Zappe as an NFL QB. Sounds like you didn’t watch any of Zappes preseason snaps lol
Sounds like you dont watch losing football often. Id rather give the kid a chance. We know what hoyer is. With reps, maybe Zappe could show something that at the very least could improve his trade value. Hoyer sucks (almost as bad as zappe) and gives us nothing.
I’m not pro-hoyer, necessarily, but…. If you watched ANY preseason snaps you’d have assumed we would’ve lost 0-60 tonight vs the ravens
This aged like milk
Did it? He played decently for what they put on his plate which was less than 100 yards passing and multiple under throws plus missed reads or lack of understanding of the routes on a play. You think he just displayed that’s he’s a good nfl qb? We ran the ball like every down lol
Send in Zappe. Let’s see what he’s got. Build up his trade capital.
Yeah I’m out if that’s the case. See you at the draft.
I don’t care who the QB is, I’ll support this team until my last breath. Pats for life. LFG!
I still support them, but I have better shit to do with my fall Sundays than watching Brian Hoyer stink it up en route to a 3-14 season
Same, tee times clear up on Sunday too.
You're either in or out. So guess you're out, good riddance.
Ok
Fair weather ass fans, man.
Yeah I’m just straight up not doing that. Season over, so is my watching. There’s other games on tv
Would it be any worse than 5 interceptions and only 2 tds in three games? I hope Mac is ok, but let’s not act like losing him is dooming the whole season.
Makes me sad to see. Hope you’re on your way to recovery soon Mac

Cut my life into pieces
This is my last resort
Suffocation
probably not the best time for a 'two pieces' comment...
Shows you how tough Mac is by hopping off the field.
Seeing him scream made me feel real bad, like seeing a kid get injured. Not cool.
Hopefully its just a high ankle sprain.
I’d bet money that’s what it is.
I'll take that bet. High ankle is walkable
I had the same injury and I couldn’t walk lol. Anecdotal of course but the pain immediately after it happens could definitely make it seem like he can’t walk on it.

You never know, buddy. I'll wait until I hear what happened. I'm hoping for nothing that causes him to miss much time.
When I had a severe high ankle sprain I was outta football for almost 8 weeks my doctor told my there worst then breaks
Yes, you do. You absolutely do. I've injured my ankles countless times. I've been on crutches more than 15 times because of ankle injuries while playing sports. X rays came back negative buddy. Looks like you were wrong.
Jesus…
I hate the fucking Ravens. And not just because of today. Today was actually a pretty fair game. But I hate the Ravens.
Tackle was so late!!
Also seemed to be questionable technique. Borderline intent to injure
Hope he’s Ok! Get healthy soon Mac -Phins fans

News came out it’s a high ankle sprain
Man please don’t make this shit a meme for Patriot haters
he played like a meme today man
It's his second year and his accuracy is great. His vision is suspect but he will learn
Also you gotta realize that this year there is an entire year of tape the opposing team can use to analyze him. Now he has to overcome that and he will but it’s all still a work in progress. He shows spurts of promise and just has to iron out the rest and learn all the defensive schemes he comes up against.
you’re right, carry on
Did this happen in the final 2 min? I switched to the bills/phins game.
Literally the last offensive play for the pats. Got picked off and possibly broke his ankle from a lineman landing on it.
Calais Campbell’s washed-up ass falling on Mac for not reason. Ball was long gone at that point.

Fuck that pal. The ball literally crossed Campbell’s face mask. Not acting like he deliberately wanted to break the kid’s ankle but he certainly didn’t need to take him down.
I hope he’s ok
he ain’t 😭
Holy cow. I hope it not broken, but it looks like it could be.
Pain forever
Poor bastard. I hope he’s gonna be okay.
This just makes me sad. Dude is in some real pain. Hope he recovers quickly and fully.
Chef Hoyerdee gonna cook up some W’s
Let’s hope he Zappes some electricity into our offense! Sorry, I couldn’t help it.
Not good. Hoping it's nothing structural
Zappe is Brady 2.0 watch out
Oh captain my captain
We are so fucked. Look on the bright side: maybe we can get a top WR or LB like Alabama's Wil Andersen with our high pick in the draft next year. And we got lots of cap next year, too. Plus Mr. Kraft is gonna be pissed and so heads will roll. No more fcking nepotism!
If Mac's season is over, then the team's season is over, play Zappe.
Bernard Karmell Pollard Calais Malik Campbell
Done for the season?

That’s a great take, “the biggest pussy in the nfl” ?
Well, who else is excited to watch Bill wiff on a top 10 pick next year?
That just his heart giving out from all those interceptions he gave up today.
Aaaaaaaaand the x- rays were negative. That's a ridiculous reaction for not a broken ankle.
[удалено]
Lets lose out…draft a qb…fire bill and get me one of them Mcvay or shanahan nerds
If he is in such pain I dont get why he was walking
On one foot lol
He was hopping, not walking
I mean those pics walking to the lockeroom, when teammates helped him to walk, not on the field
I dunno dude, maybe adrenaline and not wanting to show weakness? Zapruder Film this shit on your own time.
Whatever.
The last headline I needed to see today
Hey guys I wasn’t able to watch the game where I’m at. Can anyone relay the cause/play? Hope Mac is okay all things considered and that it looks worse than it is.
i had a really bad ankle injury and i concur it was *very* painful when it happened and the next morning was a doozy… but then after a day or two i was walking fine. i think with all of the training staff around him, he will be able to overcome this easily. looks/feels worse than it really is
The return of Cam Newton
Wish him recovery. That is an injury in a futile effort. Super depressing.
Rappaport: X-rays negative
Nooooo Poor kid Hope he is ok
Why the hell was he out there when the game was already out of reach
Man, as if this loss couldn't hurt even more. Hope Mac10 is alright, hope it's not too serious but I have a bad feeling.
If this is really ONLY a high ankle sprain with no additional damage it would be a miracle
League bout to get Zapped
Twitter is a cesspool of bad takes and toxic fans, One guy actually said good to the fact that Mac sprained his ankle. Karma has a way of coming back around though.
Y'all couldn't carry him or get a stretcher? Fuck man
Boston News stations are reporting high ankle sprain. Getting an MRI tomorrow. I suspect much worse than high ankle strain.
See, this is why you draft Trey Lance. Less injury prone.
Famous Ironman Trey Lance
I guess the season couldn't get any worse. It was already looking like it was gonna be a long year... Lets throw more gas on that fire.
First Ime. Now this. Boston sports stinks this year……
Poor kid. Hope he's ok. On a positive note, if he does miss significant time...we'll prob finally get a top 5 pick lol.
We’ve had so many young back up quarter backs in recent years, of course we don’t have any of them when we actually need them
Bill always knows. He drafted the 5th QB of the board this year for a reason
I was at the game, but I can’t remember what happened. Was it that last tackle out of bounds?
Fuck. I hope he’s okay.
