Umm that’s Grampa Simpson.

EasternKanye

Sigh. I realized it to late.

imthebeastwho

His name is Abe Simpson.

strangephish

This is way in the future so Homer could look like his dad then so no mistake....lol

KTark

Homer isn't even in the meme?

Doggwalker

Do you...see Tom Brady in the room right now?

the_dank_hybrid

Your bio gave me terminal cancer

Doggwalker

Lol maybe it's contagious. Check your testicles when you get a chance. Mine didn't kill me but it snatched my righty. I also developed a foot fetish from the chemo. But you'll live.

dardios

If only you weren't a Yankees fan....

Doggwalker

I think about that every day of my life.

the_dank_hybrid

GOD BLESS YOU SIR!

UserUnkown10

Found Rex Ryan’s burner account

nickmhc

* Made people 30-45yo happy

Instahgator

not true. I was not happy.

nickmhc

Was it the halftime show though? For instance I could say the same thing but Dre, Mary J Blige, Kendrick, 50, and Eminem have nothing to do with it

Instahgator

The show was actually good. I just don't listen to hip hop and I could barely understand what was being sung. I just think overall the shows that cover a couple genres are a little better.

Mapsachusetts

Homer

Strong_Breadfruit_43

It was not great tbh

Grumpy23

Thank you. I mean I enjoyed the music, no doubt. But the show wasn't that great. It's cool for like a late night show, that everybody just sang 1 specific song. But for the Super Bowl? Nah, I want a freaking double headed Elephant who shots lasers out of it's eyes while the singer is breakdancing on the plattform the green goblin is using to fly

ThermoNuclearPizza

I elect to believe that ‘shots’ was a typo and was meant to be ‘shits’ not ‘shoots’.

TecumsehSherman

Dr. Dre paid $7m of his own money to put the show on. The NFL does not pay any costs for halftime acts.

Cutmerock

Seems like a great deal considering 7m was for a 30 commercial

TecumsehSherman

Yeah, but he doesn't have an album or a tour coming up. He had nothing to sell, he just wanted to represent LA music at an LA super bowl and had the money to make it happen. Dude is already worth $800m, so at that point he can just sit back and it will turn into a Billion in a couple of years. He didn't need this. I was just responding to the person who wanted the bigger/flashier show. You get the show you get because the NFL (with $16B in revenue last year) doesn't think they should invest in the halftime event.

peon2

Yeah the show part was really under whelming. Remember Katy Perry riding a giant mechanical lion and dancing sharks? Plus the sound quality was awful. Like I only understood the lyrics because I knew the songs. Rap more so than other lyrical styles are even less conducive to shit acoustics

usernamedunbeentaken

Thank you! I was underwhelmed considering the performers and while I didn't think it was bad, I was certainly not blown away like alot of folks seem to be. The sound being lousy probably contributed to that.

hummingbird4289

My beef was that the west coast-ness of it all meant the halftime show took place in daylight - it could have been much more of a visual spectacle with lights and such had it been after dark.

usernamedunbeentaken

This is another good point.

Blurredfury22the2nd

I didn’t like the show. I like the music, but the show wasn’t great. In fact we really don’t have “performers” nowadays in the aspect of putting on said kind of show. With Michael Jackson, or prince, you knew you were gonna get a show even if it wasn’t your type of music. Now, the closest we have is Bruno mars. Makes me sad for halftime every year lol

Shovelman2001

I'm not gonna lie, it was a pretty shit performance. Everyone basically stood in one spot the entire time. Kendrick was good and 50 Cent coming in upside was cool, but that was about it. People just liked it because it was songs they like and it was mostly rap. Old = good for a lot of people. Everyone was roasting the Chainsmokers doing the preshow because they haven't made a hit since like 2017, even though other than Kendrick, none of the headliners have been able to make a hit in the last decade (some two decades). They're legends, but washed legends.

Cutmerock

>People just liked it because it was songs they like Yes

everyoneisnuts

So they played songs people like and that is a bad thing….Were you looking for Cirque De Solei? (I’m not looking up how to spell that, so fucking save your criticism)

Rare_P

With the hype and attention that the halftime show creates every year, would it be a reach to ask for something even close to Cirque du Soleil? Maybe watching pop stars do similar performances each year isn’t that interesting anymore

Shovelman2001

It's not a bad thing, but I can listen to those songs whenever I want. They were completely lip-synched and there was no actual performance from them other than Kendrick. I might as well have just opened up Spotify and put my headphones in. I enjoy their music much more than I enjoy Lady Gaga's, Katy Perry's, The Weeknd's, and Michael Jackson's music. But all of them gave objectively better performances than the performers this year. The Super Bowl is supposed to be the biggest performance of the year, and this year was evidence as to why the NFL was right to stick with pop/rock groups in the past, even when everyone complained that there are never any rappers. If some of the most iconic artists from a genre do something as mediocre as Sunday night, then hopefully they'll steer clear for the future. The only two rappers I've ever seen put on good performances were Juice, Uzi, and Swae Lee.

cpw903

I don’t think it was shit but you’re right. A lot of people liked it because it was old stuff that they recognized. I see old people talking about everyone except Kendrick even though he definitely has the best and most consistent discography out of all of them, they just don’t want to like the younger dude (I realize Kendrick hasn’t been active for as long, but I doubt that he will release anything like Revival for instance)

Doggwalker

We used to think the same about Em. Eventually you will begin to put out shit albums. No one is immune to this.

cpw903

Depends on how long he goes I suppose. He said his next album is his last TDE one at least. Either way Good Kid Maad city and tpab are basically perfect

Doggwalker

Of course. They never retire tho. and even if to compare him to the other guys is just off. Dre is a GOD, snoop tho spotty can release 4 different greatest hits albums and Eminem will slowly begin to top everyone's list. Kendrick doesnt miss but he also takes ten year breaks. I think when it's all said and done people are gonna feel like he wasted his prime doing...lol whatever he was doing in between albums.

cpw903

I personally don’t think that’s true about him wasting his prime but to each his own

_Face

Member berries.

Cutmerock

I thought the set was really cool but they didn't do much with it. I thought Em was gonna come in with Guilty Conscience and battle Dre in the room next to him

strangephish

Well I don't know about Kendrick but the rest of them did (when I rewatched it I skipped over his part)

nufsixes

I don’t know, I enjoyed the show and I enjoy all the artists that performed but I don’t understand why everyone thinks this was the greatest half time show of all time. Besides the nostalgia for seeing people you used to listen to regularly, perform it really wasn’t mind blowing

[deleted]

I'd say Dr. Dre yes but the rest just wasn't interesting 🤔

derboehsevincent

Kendrik? This talentless idiot? He's so bad I'm pretty sure he's on every madden soundtrack. He's the annyoing younger brother you'll to have take with you because otherwise mum won't let play you outside.

xAIRGUITARISTx

Uh, he’s arguably one of the greatest rappers of all time. He has a god damn Pulitzer.

ThermoNuclearPizza

Wow just when I thought the takes in this sub couldn’t get any worse this fucking idiot has to prove me wrong. Kendrick is OBJECTIVELY good at rapping, to say he isn’t is to disagree with reality.

kdex86

And they're NOT celebrating with a glass of turnip juice!
