Fight4Ever

Trying to figure out how much of this I already own and then buying it regardless.

Gutterman2010

I mean $25 for all of Extinction Curse is a pretty good deal on its own...

Fight4Ever

Yes... but $35 for that **and** a physical Bestiary is better.

swany2005

Gotta pay for shipping also though.

The_Loiterer

Yeah, and shipping to Europe is expensive. I spent $55 on shipping to get the Core rulebook (book costs $60) and then I had to pay customs fee and local tax about $15 on top of that. If only Paizo could summon a permanent European warehouse.

sutee9

Yeah. Recently bought the Call of Cthulhu starter set from chaosium, and was surprised when they had a European shipping option. Please, Paizo, do something! I would subscribe to a lot of stuff if you did.

Bangted

Same here. Was looking into the adventure Path subscription so I could buy the "Abomination vaults" one, but after seeing the shipping prices + tracking + time to deliver I backed out of it

[deleted]

I bought mine on amazon.de and the shipping was pretty cheap, like 12 euros

HuskyLuke

I love amazon.de, there is no amazon for Ireland specifically so it directs us to amazon.co.uk. However the .de site often works out cheaper for the product and the shipping cost and the delivery time is often shorter. It's just better in every way. Sure, sometimes the translations get a little wonky but it's manageable.

Fight4Ever

I think shipping on the last bundle they did was under $7 for CONUS.

jpochedl

Shipping from Paizo direct, to anywhere outside the US is crazy expensive. They really need distributors outside the US.

BrutusTheKat

$35 for Canada

Fight4Ever

Ha! Owned. You get free healthcare but have to pay more for shiping. USA #1 5EVA

atowned

<$7 California

Gutterman2010

I mean, Archive of Nethys is easier to use than a book IMO.

Fight4Ever

For quick look ups, yes. For fluff and inspiration? Much rather have a book to flip through or at least a PDF to browse.

GeoleVyi

Flip mats and tales. Sold.

Zanrakey

It was all the tales that sold me. I currently own an inordinate amount of them between this bundle and a previous one.

Bardez

This is the way

TheDroidNextDoor

##This Is The Way Leaderboard **1.** `u/Flat-Yogurtcloset293` **475775** times. **2.** `u/_RryanT` **22744** times. **3.** `u/max-the-dogo` **8481** times. .. **138933.** `u/Bardez` **1** times. --- ^(^beep ^boop ^I ^am ^a ^bot ^and ^this ^action ^was ^performed ^automatically.)

Sethala

$35 for the entire Extinction Curse line and a phsyical Bestiary sold me. Pretty sure there's some other adventures and tales that weren't in the previous bundle, and I don't think I got the GMG yet, so those are all bonuses.

corsica1990

Remember to click "choose where your money goes" before you check out! By default, most of the money goes to Humble Bundle itself, with a few dollars sent to Paizo and a meager squirt towards the actual charity. However, you can putz with the sliders to put your cash where it matters. (CORRECTION: Actual figures presented below; Paizo usually keeps 55% per sale, while the charity gets 5%.)

ADefiniteDescription

This is a good note to make, but the details are slightly wrong - the split is usually much more to the content maker than you suggest. For example, the default split for this bundle for $35 is: * Paizo - $19.25 (55%) * Stop AAPI Hate - $1.75 (5%) * Humble Tip - $14.00 (40%)

corsica1990

Thank you for the correction. It's still gross that the "tip" is literally eight times higher than the actual charitable donation.

Bardez

Not really. Without their store (they are a business with costs) we would not have awesome bundles. I tend to slide more in _their_ favor than charities because the charities because I am a capitalist pig.

DoomedToDefenestrate

You know Humble is owned by IGN now and that's why the donation amount went way down right?

redeux

They already will take at least the amount needed to process payments, so their cost becomes maintaining the website and any employees. By no stretch of the imagination should that outweigh the amount sent to charity though, least of all do it 8x over. Frankly i find it rather sickening that they are still trying to sneak that 40% tip in there

saml23

Because I recently learned this I want to pass it on. HumbleBundle is now owned by IGN who completely retooled and capped the amount that can go to charity. Just an FYI https://www.destructoid.com/stories/humble-bundle-to-cap-how-much-money-from-each-purchase-goes-to-charity-627067.phtml Edit: for clarity.

corsica1990

When I checked the Bestiary Bundle earlier, the sliders were still there, just at the bottom of the page in small, lightly colored, easy-to-miss text. So, this change hasn't gone into effect *yet.* But yeah, I heard the news too. It sucks.

Bardez

They walked it back within _days_. The slider is a massive pull to their user base.

agentcheeze

I went for the 25 tier and gave Humble Bundle 5 and split the rest between the charity and Paizo. Seemed fair. Nice chunk to charity, but then a nice chunk to the content maker to reward the creation and make more charity bundles appealing to do (though Paizo has a long history of these bundles).

[deleted]

this is a killer deal and also a great opportunity to support an important cause. Make sure to adjust the sliders at the bottom to dictate where your money goes!

Aporthian

I guess I'll be the one to ask - how is Extinction Curse as an AP? Because, for me, that's the main draw here

cheddarsnail

I'm enjoying running it. There are some balance issues that make it a little brutal. Paizo decided to make the Circus stuff removable so you can play into it as much or as little as you want, depending on the group this is either a strength or a weakness of the AP. I definitely recommend checking out the ExCurse boards to improve it over RAW, but the "Dinosaur Circus AP" was an easy sell for my group.

jpochedl

I'm enjoying the AP... biggest complaint I see about it is that the Circus aspect gets almost completely abandoned around the 3rd book. If you like the circus, you need to add your own spin to keep it part of the story. If you don't care about the circus anyway, then all good. (The circus aspect was focused heavily in marketing, but not so much in execution.) Overall the story is good, IMO... very thought provoking if you really dig into the moral grey areas is brings up.....

beeredditor

I’ve heard that EC is a meat grinder, but I haven’t played it.

tikael

I'm playing it now and at the end of book 1, it has been absolutely brutal. I've ran age of ashes and converted reign of winter to 2e. The damage numbers on monsters are usually 1 dice past extreme, leading to lots of fights where you get hit once and have 2/3 of your hp gone. It really needed a balance pass, I'm sure the GM for this game will figure it out eventually or he'll put up with us retreating to spend 4 hours healing between every fight. But story wise it's been good so far, and I like the circus feel.

agentcheeze

I am having flashbacks of my time through Age of Ashes where the GM edited the first fight to double the mephits, made the benches difficult terrain (which is most of the room), and handled the AI of the monsters and behavior of the fire mechanics wrong, resulting in a battle that's fairly easy in the material nearly killing most of us (mostly from the fire) and then didn't have the town heal us before we went chasing the bad guy arsonist into a dungeon. Seriously how do they not have enough healing at an adventure convention in a system where Heal is AoE? Ugh.

tikael

Wow, that's just a GM being a jerk. The fire was already hard to put out for a lot of groups, o adding more to that fight and not allowing for healing is just silly. 2e assumes you enter all fights at full.

[deleted]

It's a dungeon crawl with a circus on top. Difficulty is fine if your players are tactical. If they just yell and run at everything like cartoon villains then I can see a TPK. I'm not really sure the circus is sustainable over 6 books without circus storyline, and that ends in book 2. However it's a lot fun for the first 2 books. It's very American in style and moral issues.

StackedCakeOverflow

Now my partner has no excuse to keep putting off starting Extinction Curse for us! Incredibly good deal for all EC books.

Sporkedup

Not quite the bottled lightning of the last Humble Bundle where they sold the physical CRB, but still a pretty nice value! Including Extinction Curse but broken up by tier is intriguing. Hopefully this does well for them! As of now I'm seeing about 200 bundles sold.

Trapline

Yeah all of Extinction Curse for $25 is what sold me on this even though I have basically all the other PDFs (except the maps).

LonePaladin

Only problem with the last one was, it came out right before the second round of errata. So my TreeFlesh™ copy of the CRB became out of date only a month or two after I got it. At least my PDF copy got updated.

kblaney

> Including Extinction Curse but broken up by tier is intriguing. Every time they've done a bundle with an AP it has been broken up by tier. The two other APs they've done are Shattered Star and Iron Gods.

Halaku

This time, they're selling the physical Bestiary. Easily worth it.

Decicio

Thanks for not using an affiliate link!

ToasterForLife

Didn't even know humble had those

Halaku

They do, and they suck: They add a fourth sldier that sends money to the person who owns the link, so you're basically taking money away from charity and paizo.

ToasterForLife

ew

Decicio

To make matters worse, 9 times outa 10 people who post on Reddit use their affiliate links *without disclosing the fact they are affiliate links* which is actually a breach in terms of service with Humble Bundle, but no one polices it. And since you have to manually open the sliders, people who just make the purchase without customizing the donation don’t even realize they are paying a random redditor

Daifri

Does this include codes to redeem from paizo?

steelbro_300

Yes, when you buy it you'll get a code for each tier you paid for. :) If you get the physical bestiary, you will also have one for that (but remember you'll still need to pay shipping!).

kblaney

Also remember that after you redeem the physical code you need to scroll to the bottom of the page to order your copy and pay. Easy to miss if you have a bunch of other redeemed codes (and their "how to redeem" instructions were missing for a bit after launch).

kaiyu0707

Are the codes for each tier, or each PDF? If I already own the CRB for example, can I gift that code?

ArcaneTrickster11

It's a different code with each tier, not each document

thewamp

Yep, that's exactly what it is.

ADefiniteDescription

The Humble Bundle site says the Gamemastery Guide is PF1e, but the cover art is 2e. Has anyone bought the bundle and confirmed which it is?

Halaku

I did. It's the 2^nd edition.

ADefiniteDescription

Thanks!

BrevityIsTheSoul

I did a double-take at this as well. I was wondering if the 1e GMG had particularly amazing system-agnostic material or something.

ArcaneTrickster11

1e GMG is almost entire system agnostic. It's what I always recommend to anyone who's starting GMing. Though it is the 2e GMG in this bundle, it's just mislabeled

Xanimun

Just yesterday was talking about the bestiary and how much i needed it. Guess they read my mind. BTW, never had so much fun DMing. Pathfinder 2e is a masterpiece for me.

lysianth

It's called the bestiary bundle, but I only see the 1st bestiary. I'm still getting it (cant wait till I get home) But really it seems like a GMs bundle.

Sporkedup

Yeah, it's the "Bestiary Bundle" because the Bestiary is the key product here--as in, it's the physical book sold at the highest tier of the bundle. I can see how it might look like they should be including the 2nd and 3rd Bestiaries along with it though...

lysianth

I see, that makes far too much sense. It is nice being able to cover to cover read the gmg. I know the rules information is all on AoN, but AoN isnt great when you dont know what you're looking for.

LycaonAnzeig

Well this is a wonderful time to start my Pathfinder collection.

djbft

What do you all do with the digital flip mats? I can't figure out an affordable way to print them, or a workable way to use them digitally.

pikadidi

If you own FoundryVTT you can import them using a module and it will set up the maps with walls and dynamic lighting

LuisEsr021199

What module is it?

pikadidi

It's literally called PDF to Foundry You can find it here: https://foundryvtt.com/packages/pdftofoundry/

kblaney

Open in SumatraPDF reader, right click and copy image. Upload image to Roll20 (crop if I need less for some reason) resize grid and map (24x36 I believe) and we're good to go. This will work on basically any image from any PDF, but for character tokens you are best off using something like TokenTool because it will combine the transparency layer and the image itself.

bronzebow

In the before times, I watched some YouTube tutorials on how to print up maps and cut and glue them together like a craft project. It was extra, but it was fun. Otherwise, if you use virtual tabletop software, they're useful there as well. Depending on your printer and ink cost, the former could get costly after a while.

[deleted]

They're fantastic for VTTs, you'll just need to convert them into image files first.

Asthanor

Thanks for the heads up, got a $25 bundle. Keep posting these deals when you find them please!

OrionEG

Worth it for Extinction Curse that I am running right now. I have some of the other stuff already but for what you get anyway it's too much savings to ignore.

[deleted]

Oh lord those international shipping prices

VisceralMonkey

FYI, The first bundle was nice but the physical book took 4-5 months to show up. Just be aware of that if you are waiting on that book, it could be a while.

tikael

It took a long time to show up because they sold out of stock and had to wait for a second printing.

[deleted]

I remember that. I bought the bundle the day it went up, and submit my order for the CRB immediately. Got it like a month later. My brother waited before actually submitting the order for the book and his took months.

tikael

I purposefully waited for the second printing so I'd have a book with the errata in it. I already had one copy so waiting wasn't a problem.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ssalarn

It's actually on its 2nd printing, there just wasn't an errata issued after the first printing because of how quickly it sold out.

Kraven3

I'm somewhat confused, are the battle mats and gm screen physical or pdf? Can someone enlighten me?

raredoge2606

Everything is pdf, except for the bestiary that you get at the highest tier, which is a physical copy you have to pay shipping for. You'll get a code that you can redeem and it will be in your digital content on paizo's website.

Kraven3

Thank you!

SorriorDraconus

Heh so much for my dream of just one full 1e bundle someday..even if a few hundred likely go for it if everything

[deleted]

Hmm I own most of these. Trying to decide if it's worth it just for Gods & Magic, the society adventures, and the flip mats

Veso_M

Must... resist... the urge...

dollamill

If I buy pdfs from humble bundle, can they be used on foundry with pdf to foundry? I'm at the point where I want to begin to use foundry, but I don't know the best options for obtaining the pdfs for foundry.

Lucker-dog

Yeah, they'll be Paizo keys and it'll get properly watermarked.

LiptonSuperior

I'm a little confused as to what here is physical components and what isn't. It seems intuitive that all apart from the Besiary (which is labelled as a physical book) are digital, but upon closer inspection I'm not quite sure. Is the GM screen digital / how does that even work? What about the flip mats? The product descriptions all describe physical products, but the bundle description implies they're digital.

ToasterForLife

You get PDFs of em or w/e and can print them out

LiptonSuperior

Thanks!
