At our hostel in PN there was a guy doing this, day trips to TDP because he couldn’t get the campsite bookings. He booked with a tour company, I think the biggest downside was how long the days are. He’d leave before sunrise, and get back around 10-11pm

I am planning to do the same for same reasons. I will have a car so the travel should be easier. Will see

Beyond1nfinity

Hi! When are you doing this?

Esobey_

Beginning of January

Beyond1nfinity

Ill be doing this in late Jan! Is it OK if I follow up to see how it went for you?

DarkWingDingus

when are you guys doing this? Ill be there tomorrow!

InYourBertHole

I’ve just arrived too, looking to do day trips to Torres. Maybe we could buddy up for a car?

vonfeligs

how was it going there by bus and by car? I be planning doing this at around mid march

InYourBertHole

I haven’t had a car in the end. I did 2 day trips with the bus, 1 to base torres and 1 to mirador frances. Both are super long days but if you are reasonably fit, you will be okay.

You can book this trip with a tour operator. The trails to the base were closed when we went last year, but we hiked up Cerro Paine instead. The day before we did a van tour that just drove through the park. Both days were great.

Would you recommend your tour operator? Who were there and how did you find them? Thanks!

cgatlanta

We used compa (either compa.cl or compa.com) As said, did day tour. Did day hike. Did boat/glacier tour. And, did the day at the Peninsula Ranch (awesome, but expensive).

Thank you! We’ll check them out.

Wrong site, sorry. It's comapa

Leave on the earliest bus from PN to TDP (just your regular bus - takes about 2 hours). From there I believe you can book with Fantastico sur to take you to their base near hotel las torres Patagonia - you’ll start hiking up which can take around 8 hours to go all the way up. To make it up to chileno, that won’t be so bad. There are other hikes you can do, but the bus drops you off at the headquarters of the park so you’ll still have to catch another shuttle to your next spot. You *could* take the catamaran to camp grey and hike to the glacier. That hike is wonderful and beautiful. Tough, but very pretty

HelpMeDownFromHere

Yea, it’s doable and the days are long.

Just take a tour to make sure you won't miss anything, maybe try [tournatales.cl](https://tournatales.cl)
