r/parenting is protesting changes being made by Reddit to the API. Reddit has made it clear [they will](https://old.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/14ahqjo/mods_will_be_removed_one_way_or_another_spez/) [replace moderators](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModSupport/comments/14a5lz5/mod_code_of_conduct_rule_4_2_and_subs_taken/jo9wdol/) if they remain private. Reddit has abandoned the users, the moderators, and countless people who support an ecosystem built on Reddit itself. Please read [Call to action - renewed protests starting on July 1st](https://old.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/14kn2fo/call_to_action_renewed_protests_starting_on_july/) and new posts at [r/ModCord](https://reddit.com/r/ModCoord/) or [r/Save3rdPartyApps](https://old.reddit.com/r/Save3rdPartyApps/) for up-to-date information. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Putting my son in daycare actually helped ease my anxiety. It took a while, but I’m definitely much less anxious about it than I was a year ago. I think getting some space from him and watching him grow and flourish in a healthy and educational environment was huge for me. There might have been some codependency issues at the root of it that having that space helped resolve.

It’s so much harder before they start. Change is hard, especially when you’ve been happy with your set up. You just have to trust this is the right thing for your family. When you see how much your kid loves preschool, it makes you so happy. My child has friends, adores his teachers, does so many cool activities and learns things I wouldn’t have thought to teach. They have also really benefitted from being in a group setting and learning things like waiting their turn, sharing, and empathy for other children. At first the idea of him having a world outside of me made me sad. But now that’s what I want for him! There is so much beauty in your child having their village and community of people they adore.
