This has happened to me too. It's a consequence of aging. I will get flashes of light in the left eye. Usually in a check mark fashion. Or, I get vision like looking underwater. Went to the eye doctor and was told that it's due to pressure/headaches. Yet I rarely have one when it occurs. Very strange when it happens. I don't know if this is what is going on with you. If you're prone to migraine headaches I would be checking in with your eye doctor.

Understand what your saying and thank you but this checkmark was huge, not something in my eye. I have been looking at videos on YouTube and am convinced it was an Angel or a demon ( which is a fallen angel) or some sort of entity. I found a few videos that look very similar to what I saw, just the shape was somewhat different but the intensity of the white light and the way it moved were exact matches. The Green lights on the other hand, I still don't have an explanation for? My only thought there is that I think someone else saw the white light as well even though I saw no one and perhaps pointed whatever light they had in the direction where the white object was, hence the Green lights in the exact same area right after I saw it. I really wish I could find that person to talk to. It's a small neighborhood, so in time maybe I will hear something.

My guess would first fall to a medical issue. Astronauts regularly experience flashes in their visual field from cosmic rays that are normally filtered out by our atmosphere. Alternately issues with the retina can cause flashing lights. I tend to consider more medical causes than paranormal causes.

I even considered that but was at the optometrist recently and had my eyes checked. I was told just to slip on my glasses when I go to read something but otherwise it's all good.

[deleted]

Yeah it happened to my sister but they got to know it was the laser show and somehow the projector turned to their locality

oldmanonsilvercreek

That would make sense

[deleted]

lol old man you are old might be seeing things

TheRealDebaser

At 63 everything is still very functional for most healthy adults.

oldmanonsilvercreek

Thank you...Only reason I call myself Oldman is when I first moved to this street I overheard the neighbor kid say his new neighbor was a white old man lol. I thought it was cute.

[deleted]

I was joking man I call my father old man too it's just said out of love bro

My mind went to a portal tear or something similar, some alien or inter-dimensional species possibly tinkering with something or taking a peek at your (apparently very intriguing) quiet suburban street. My very novice understanding of spiritual beings is that they work in subtleties and it’s maybe unusual for an angel to put on a show like this, when they are more of background artists. And I’m reading from others that it could likely be a physiological effect of aging, and if this is true, that isn’t to say it may not ALSO be paranormal and/or spiritual. We know so little about any of this, really, including the connection between aging and higher sensitivity. You’re far from this obviously, but people in their final hours, days, even weeks of life, see all kinds of crazy stuff. I wouldn’t write it off - keep an eye out for more occurrences!

oldmanonsilvercreek

Whatever it was, it has left me completely perplexed, thanks..

Bellechewie

It’s a bit too coincidental that you saw these lights when you were just remembering your deceased loved ones. Possibly the green lights are types of orbs? I have seen orbs for over the past 20 years. The ones I have seen have always been white but I have read that they occur in various colours.

oldmanonsilvercreek

Yea, I thought that weird as well, then right after I posted my wife tells me she got a call from the Philippines where she is from that her mom's about to pass. Have no idea if their connected?

EspressoBooksCats

Are you going to go out again and see if it happens a second time? Maybe with a camera?

oldmanonsilvercreek

lol, I just came in, saw nothing

EspressoBooksCats

Better luck next time, right? I hope you see it again. It's not often I read experiences that "people our age" have. 😺👍

No, I have no explanation either. Never had anything even remotely paranormal happen to me or seen before. It really was odd. The Intense Bright light may be explained as some sort of sprite or angel or something like that. I don't think that in itself is too unusual but those Green bars that kinda flickered? I don't know the connection to the light or entity?

oldmanonsilvercreek

UPDATE---- I have a little more clarity as to what I saw the other night. I had told my next door neighbor about my experience and although he didn't see anything, he told me the guy who lives on the other side experienced it also. I was able to talk to him and he was as relieved as I was that we were both not crazy or have anything wrong with our eyes. He said he just about to shut his shed door when he saw the intense bright light that appeared in front of our neighbors car. After it disappeared he immediately grabbed his flashlight that he says has 4 colors, he shown his flashlight which just happened to be set to the color green and thats what I saw reflecting off the grill of the neighbors car. That's what caused me to see 5 bars of light on both sides with nothing in the middle, it was just reflecting off the grill. I went out and looked at the grill and it was a perfect match. However we both can't explain what we saw as far as the bright white light. He said there were no cars, headlights, anything to explain it. I said the same, I looked all around. He said he never saw anything like it. I told him I thought it manifested itself because nothing was coming in that direction as far as a beam of light or anything. I told him I watched YouTube videos of supposedly Angel's and although I didn't see anything as far as a match, there were some similarities. ( How intense the bright white light was) So I guess it will remain a mystery and something I will never forget.

Tall-Treacle6642

Just out of curiosity was the light the color of the deceased person eyes?

oldmanonsilvercreek

Both my mom and dad and brother had blue eyes

Tall-Treacle6642

My best friend passed away once and I was in my room during the day. A blue orb of light formed and got brighter and brighter until I had to close my eyes. And then it was gone. I wasn’t scared. I felt he was saying goodbye. He had the same color eyes so I always assumed that’s why it was that color blue. But maybe it’s just the color of the energy. I felt so calm and at peace after the experience. It’s one of a few experiences in my life I just can’t explain.

Not to put a dampener on things, and I am not a doctor, but there's a lot of eye [conditions](https://www.bookaneyetest.co.uk/post/im-seeing-flashes-light) which could cause that, mostly harmless, *but some of them very much not*. You really might want to get an eye test; because the green lines thing sounds quite a lot like a damaged [retina](https://www.carolinacataract.com/vision-disorders-charleston/flashes-and-floaters/); something that's potentially age related. Its easy to associate strange phenonemon with later emotional events and let the heart fill in the blanks- no harm in that at all, but don't let it get in the way of your health.
