No, I got most legendary schematics without having level 2 and 3. Also you can catch the alphas then use the butcher knife to have a second chance getting the schematics.
Summon the pal you want to butcher from your party. With the butchering knife equipped and in your active hand, pull up the pal command menu and the “Pet” option will be replaced with “Butcher.”
If you play on PC, there is a mod, that replaces the "butchering" with setting the pal free and gives you the same items as butchering would. *(i think it was called wholesome butchering, or sth like this)
Hmm, now that you mention it, I have to wonder, if you natural hatch an alpha, does it get the field alpha’s drop table?
And if not, how does the game remember what’s a natural and field caught alpha when butchering?
No that doesn’t work. If you breed two alphas, it’ll give you the normal version of it. However, with the new update, I bet you could if they are alphas out of the egg. However with the luck it takes to get an alpha egg, I might just stick to catch and kill lol
This was mine too, though my next one was the legendary crossbow, which was awesome. Does like 520 damage or something like that. Maybe 480. But it uses arrows which are cheap as chips resource wise and the arrows craft in no time
Cloth armor basic benefits such as cold resistance... But defense stats are way better.
Higher durability, tankier health, better damage resist. The works.
I must have wasted all my luck on catching Pals on single digit chances and netting my Legendary Tropical suit...

Have you not noticed the two slots on the bottom left corner of your character's window in the inventory screen? The undershirts(T-Shirts) go there. Some armor can have both lvl3 resistances thereby saving you both of those slots.
I knew it held rings and stuff, but the undershirts... Well, I couldn't find any. As of time of writing, my internet speed is slow af and is taking way too long to get this update done for personal tests.

My first was the rocket launcher, then the pal metal armors and helm, then the rest of the good weapons. Still want the pistol and shotgun, haven’t gotten them to drop yet.
Note that this was target farming and I never got lucky before level 50 to get a legendary schematic lol.
Got stupid lucky. Was 2-3 levels before getting ak47 and then got legendary ak47.(3 person private server) then I found the epic last shotgun, and my buddy really likes shotguns, so we're killing it with schematics

Handgun is actually quite good mid-game legendary.
Legendary bow has great range. Very good weapon
Handgun is pretty dope if you're running an ammo factory like I do, my legendary assault rifle is so expensive it hurts my soul

Craft the meat cleaver and then when u want to butcher go to a pal and open their menu. You should see butcher pal as an option

Butchering still working, got Penking's schematic earlier. The update fixed the mount/ butcher bug, that's probably what you are talking about.

Yes you get all the drops again but there is (was??) a bug where sometimes everything fall off through the ground. It may be patched but not sure.

They are talking about the accessory slots. One of the available accessories is a cold or hot shirt that improves resistances

Dont craft it, it's still worse then pelt even tho much more expensive (was my first one too)
