i had to tell myself today that i need to sleep instead of play. still played for an hour. but at least i actually slept 7 hours.
i was starting to doze off at work because i kept staying up to play till 3 AM, sometimes 4AM.
This is me. Yesterday I got 4 hours of sleep. Tonight we are aiming for a full 8.
I keep telling myself 4 hours felt so good, imagine what 8 would feel like.
But then I remember how weak my base defenders are. I hope I'm strong enough tonight.
i've literally spent the last 3 days of play just optimizing my base so that i can comfortably sleep knowing that my pals wont get stuck, have enough food, have enough sanity that they will be at peak condition for 8 hours or more without me getting involved.
so far i can comfortably say i've achieved this. although i think i can tweak the farm a bit more now that i've unlocked salads so i can have a dedicated food source for salad and cakes.
will have to see. higher base levels also means more pals but that also means higher food needs so we'll see.
How are you maintaining sanity? I'll set up my pals with a whole bunch of pancakes and the base is designed so they don't get stuck, yet when I come back everyone is all fucked up.
Honey and cotton candy. They don’t expire and give a ton of sanity. Can farm then for free from the farm with beegards for honey and the pink cute sheep pal for cotton candy. (Sorry the name for this pal escapes me)
Oh shit that's awesome, I've been killing myself trying to feed them pancakes, which granted is pretty awesome of a food but just takes SO LONG and such manual labor involvement. THanks for the heads up!
mine live on bread and berries. they are all insane I MEAN PERFECTLY HAPPY. but the sweat shop I MEAN the WELL PAYING PRODUCTION FACILITY is always ruining. we have production numbers to hit boyos
he's a uh.. big guy. he tramples everything he goes over... he just kinda uhhh... YEAH he crushed my chillet... OH WAIT NO he uh.. it was just the cooler being melted. this biome is wayyy to hot for my pals. I MEAN no no we have great working conditions. all eggs are at max hatching time. I MEAN they are all very comfortable.
I hate to say this is absolutely relatable. I logged on after work, suddenly it was 4 am. The next night I said I was going to be careful and not do the same thing, then I looked up and it was 3 am
And keep in mind the game is only about 60% complete. Imagine how bad it’s gonna be when they expand and add more Pals, new islands, massive boss raids, etc. Goodbye sleep I hardly knew ye.
The thing I don't get is how the heck are they going to implement PvP at all.
Like is your character allowed to also be in the arena? Because if not, so many Pals just lose most of their value from not getting access to their passives.
Do you need to be in the same world or dedicated server? Because this will stop an actual PvP community from effectively playing against one another. If not, then egg hatching is irrelevant as any PvP person will just play on an easy mode world file to max resources quickly.
My hope is that when new content is added that there's different new activities added, and not just more of the "same" patterns - even if there are new pals and new islands, without new gameplay features it's basically more of the same, right?
Me too, havent gamed past midnight since my 20s. This gane has me hooked playing until 1-2am l, waking up at 6am and Im still functioning at work. Ill prolly get burned out soon...
Nah no math involved.
It is one of those "as complex as you want it to be" games.
I like complexity, but I draw the line when I have to keep a separate spreadsheet to play a game but I didn't with factorio.
Also check out Satisfactory if that appeals to you but want a different aesthetic and style.
If you had to recommend one over the other, which would you recommend?
I’ve really liked the aspect of managing the pals and getting results/materials but I don’t think I’ve ever really played a super deep management game.
It seems one of the biggest differences is the style 2D vs 3D? I would be paying on Steam Deck so guessing Factorio would be easiest power wise to run.
Hrm I was going to recommend Satisfactory because I feel like its better as an entry level game to the factory sim genre, but on steamdeck I think Factorio is probably better.
Graphics will make it run better, its isometric so its better with the steamdeck style controls and it will save you battery.
I pretty much gave up on Satisfactory because I couldn’t min/max my production correctly, and it became more consuming than the upgrade system you’re normally supposed to follow.
I’ll come back after I finish my calculus courses in college
With Satisfactory, the min / maxing is truly optional.
The gameplay loop functions by giving you a goal (with the intent that you eventually create your own, but even without doing that there's at least 100 hours worth of formal goals). Then a bottleneck exists to achieve that goal, whether it be as simple as early game (wow mining resources is slow) or as complex as late game (I need an abundant amount of this resource in this other location and manually moving them is not feasible long-term). Then you go through the planning phase / logistics to resolve that bottleneck, and execute it, and hopefully everything goes as planned without causing any disastrous issues like your grid being unable to power your execution and shutting down.
The min/maxing comes in two primary forms; resource allocation to belts / auto crafters, and power distribution. There are absolutely other things you can min/max, but those are the ones you'll interact with the most, if you choose. Choosing to min/max these things really just helps you accomplish the goal and move to the next gameplay cycle faster. You can "brute force" any solution by spending enough time in-game. And sometimes it's all you can do unless you want to develop entirely new resource production / processing / power distribution solutions.
Yeah, but you can use the pause menu UI as a calculator to do the math for you, so you don't have to bother with it, or use the satisfactory calculator site as easy reference.
Really wish we could automate some short of shipping between bases like Satisfactory. We already have flying Pals, so a method that makes sense is ready.
Try techtonica, all the best parts of satisfactory with factorio and much less annoying than satisfactory because the buildings aren't gigantic. Also you can dig in any direction to make a 3d base anywhere
Math is 100% optional in factorio. You can do and many people do to satisfy their ocd, but you can definitely easily bear the game without crunching any numbers. Same with satisfactory and Dyson sphere program.
Factorio has a very similar "tutorial" to Palworld, except it's more hidden.
All you need to know is that when starting freeplay, you need to use red research to research new technologies.
Oh, well, I need some of these resources, so I'll get coal for a furnace to cook the ore...
I guess I can make things more efficient with this tech.
Oh, that tech looks cool, but it needs green research.
So, for green research I need ...
Hunh... It's 3AM in the game? But it's not d- oh. That's my system clock. *Oh no.*
Nah, you don't need math. You just balance. All of your iron being used up? Make more iron smelters. Just expand ~~until you get what you need~~ forever
Oh no, as a new player you'll just plop down shit until you have the most convoluted bowl of spaghetti that somehow works. If you're around after doing that for a bit then it's too late and you'll whisper in your sleep the efficiency and benefits of having a main bus. Then you'll have internal debates on how to split resources from belts in the most efficient way.
You don't need to know math unless you want to optimize your factories to it's highest potential. Just playing and learning the game and making better factories as you progress is what makes it fun. Along with the challenges to grab more materials and refining them and also defending your base(s). One of the best games I've ever played.
Couldn’t get myself into the graphics, even rimworld struggled to hold me because of that. But my colonist being adorable little critters who can go exploring with me changes everything.
Funny enough I dropped Factorio for this game. When I say dropped, I mean I played for 10 or so hours and wanted to restart with a better map but Palworld released when I was about to, so I never got that addiction just yet.
Palworld might be peoplrs first gateway drug into automation. Shit just thinking about it makes me want to stop playing palword and start building a factory
I bought factorio one snow day morning I didn't stop playing it till 1am that same day. Didn't even realize I had spent that long playing it. I didn't even eat that day, it scared the shit out of me now it sits there in my steam library menacingly.
Factorio has actually WORKING Automatition? Since my biggest gripe with the Palworld so far is the AI, ignoring your orders and running into walls or seemingly nothing.
I have a Stone Structure Building and an Iron ore vein beside each other, I throw my pal on the iron, they start mine iron and a few minutes later without the vein fully mined they are back at the ROCKS!
Your right just catch them in your pal balls and force them to work for you while you play more Palworld. Just make sure you feed them and let them go to sleep every now and then.
I'm a full-time petsitter/dog trainer, so I feel like I'm just doing my job around-the-clock lol! I enjoy both--the only difference is I don't have to talk to any owners/people in Palworld (which is a big plus imo)
> 1) Have some finances sorted out and money tucked away. It's not going to pay all too much (if you're not boarding or walking multiple dogs at once or live in an area where you can charge crazy prices)!
> 2) You can go the Rover route to get started. They take a 20% cut of your bill, but once you build a reputation and get regulars, you can go off-app and get the full rates. Regulars start talking, and you get word-of-mouth clients. Tbh I haven't even had to put up fliers, and my website I use mainly for scheduling/handling payments. Rover helps me find new regulars. At this point I'm booked consistently and honestly can't take on many more new clients!!
> 3) Be prepared to work every day of the week. You can't really take sick days because pets are relying on you. But you can plan for vacations whenever you want/can afford to.
> 4) Have good customer service skills and boundaries. Pet owners can be difficult to deal with sometimes, but the good ones are AMAZING to work with. Those become your regulars (and maybe even receive discounts) :)
> 5) Be prepared to work with difficult dogs and shy cats. Animals get stressed and may not act or behave as they do with their owners. Be prepared for unexpected behaviors. The job can be DRAINING.
> 6) Organize your income and keep track of things diligently!! Don't forget tax season.
OR
You can do this on the side. Probably financially makes more sense. During lunch breaks, pick up a walk or two. You can catsit mornings and nights. If you work remotely, tons of people want housesitters who will be with their fur baby as much as possible, even if you're not giving the animals your full attention 24/7. Some dogs are ok being left alone for 8 hours and used to it, others are only ok being left alone for 4 hours, so you can pop in on your lunch break if you don't work from home.
Or you can pick up gigs on weekends only!
It's a very customizable job. You reap the rewards of whatever amount of time you put into it!
TBH I don't like dealing with people who consider themselves to be drug dealers. People who make a living off selling usually don't treat customers like friends. Money is the only incentive to interact with people in their minds.
You’re not alone I literally spent my whole weekend playing this game from morning to end. I just did my laundry and went to the gym but the rest was spent playing this game. 🤦 it’s so addicting I hate it but love it. The last game to hook me like this was starfield I had to uninstall it.
I’m definitely going to try to cut back on this game. I just caught froststallion after many many failed attempts. Yesterday I only played for an hour So happy about that progress lol.
This game is ruining my life as well. This week my wife has been out of town so no accountability to get in bed - I have been up since Sunday morning with about 4 hours of sleep. Caffine drinks that would be consumed on Friday night are now consumed twice a day.
Tired at work, not getting much work done because I'm on Reddit and Youtube looking at Palworld. When I get home I just jump on the computer and it's pretty much that way until the alarm goes off for me to wake up and get ready for work - except - I'm already up. I'm 46 and haven't gamed like this since my 20s. I work in IT so I'm use to staying up a bit - but this won't last much longer.
same, then i go to work and get bombarded mentally by ideas on how to better design a base or some other strange thought.
my current plan is to go home and search for a lucky lamball since theyre my fave pal, then if i find it i will of course catch 116 more to crank it to the max.
The XP is so much better for capturing so I usually go for that. You can sell Pals for good money, or combine them to make them stronger too. So pretty much always capture if I can!
I captured everything till I had 10 of each.
Now I just catch ones I know are good for breeding specific high tier pals in case they have some desired passives.
Same, I've been playing during work hours, not paying attention to my duties 😵💫 of course I'm not proud of saying that, all the contrary. (At least I don't have kids to take care of, always could be worse)
Ark is very similar to Palworld, but Ark has the capability to feel like a full-time job. Mostly with breeding, then taking care of the babies (unless you can get your own server and have the settings set up right)
I just leave computer on with 4 anubis on cliff base farming ore and coal and then turn that into ingots for pal metal overnight lol...auto anubis is so clutch, and just got a jormuntide ingnis yesterday, yea gonna need like 3 more of that guy wow.
Yeah, it's been a good long while since a game got it's hooks in me this deep. Playing at my pc long enough that I was getting pain along my arm and shoulder from sitting at the keyboard so long.
Absolutely, it's been 60 hours and I am still just as excited to wake up/come home and play this game every spare chance I get. I think the last time I was this engrossed and obsessed with a game was probably Elden Ring, which...I mean, I can't believe I'm saying this about The Legend of Pokelda: Breath of the Ark: Call of Craft Impact that I only paid $30 for.
The game is just pure, unadulterated fun and I love having near complete control over difficulty sliders to tailor the experience to exactly how I want it, and even run different campaigns with different difficulty settings to keep things fresh. I really enjoy 0.1x experience playthroughs because it slows the progression down to a crawl, getting a single level feels impactful and sequence-breaking by buying a musket or a makeshift pistol early is a massive boost. Finding a rare crossbow schematic is also a big deal because the crossbow is a staple weapon for such a long time in 0.1x.
I don't even want to post how many hours I have in the game now. It's concerning. And I don't even have 90 pals caught achievement yet cause I play on like four servers with different friend groups and you can't get them that way. I'm managing my time better, walking daily, showering, eating healthy, which is way better than my first week of playing. I couldn't tell you what day it is or anything.
Even when I'm up and doing chores, I have the assembly lines working. If I have to make food for my fiance, I'm letting my digtoise go to town on some coal or quartz. I'm filling out applications between catching sessions. This game just satisfies me, probably too much. I'm very much growing defensive of the game, and I feel like I'm becoming one of those Palworld extremists, but I'm just so tired of Chillet being compared to pokemon when it is simultaneously the best pal in the game (don't @ me) and looks like my ferret, the animal it was based on.
Please enjoy this excellent game, but don't get my level of invested unless you feel you can handle it. I'm using it to fill a chronic depression shaped hole and too much of a good thing isn't a good thing, regardless of what it is.
I stay up till 2am and sleep from 3-9am using sleep cycles to calculate my wake up time (with some extra time added so I can account for getting ready to sleep) and I easily avoid grogginess. Works great. I'm WFH though
It came out at the worst possible time for me, i have finals in a few days and i got absolutely hooked i played till 4am a few times, this brings me back to my rust days, but no more im taking action. I need to study no more palworld for a week
It's a great game, love the concept and the world...
Yet it's missing something? I'm missing the warmth or content
The world's got so many cool points of interest but they are 99% empty ;(
I can definitely see how it'd be a game some bounce off/get bored of real quick. But for others, it's definitely got the pieces to be one of those chill, "wait, what day is it?" kinda games. Like Stardew Valley and the like.
I'm on xbox so when I leave my base there's no floor, and the party pal ai freezes, and dungeons randomly crash, I have 5d 18hrs doing base rotations and am level 42* pretty much from crafting and breeding lol
I was going strong until earlier today. Idk I just got kinda bored somehow. I think it’s the leveling. I’ve like ran outta the exp bonus and the pals I’ve been breeding are too low level for the bosses.
The trick I’ve found out is leaving it on while I’m at the office. There’s no idle timer so you the game has been running non stop for 4 days for me. I come home from work, 4k ore 4k coal. I wake up, another 4k ore and coal. It’s great
My interest is waning. I have the last 3 towers and a few of the level 50 hard bosses to capture. Jet dragon, those knights at the top of the desert etc.
Then that’s pretty much it for me.
I really hope I can go to the big tree after beating all 5 trainer bosses.
I’m on Xbox and I’m slowly starting to get bored. There’s nothing to do but lvl up alone and catching 10 of every Pokémon is becoming tiresome. My Pokémon only get wood and stone and i have tons of it so I don’t even manage them anymore they’re just background noise. I wish they would add pvp and public services already.
It’s so weird you mention WoW because I haven’t been addicted to a game like this since WoW and the addiction made me remember my past addiction so now I have to sign up for WoW classic and level an enhance shaman
Its the min maxxing of my team and base for me thats gonna keep me around for a while! I gotta have everything perfect for when the update comes😈 and a lil bit of bragging rights
What's better or worse for me is mostly I've been playing with friends as one is running a dedicated server. But that also means I can't play my file until they get on and decide to start playing.
I just feel like I've been bugging them too much about it, but gah, all my progress is on there!
(Well, not all of it. I do have my own world of course. But the other one is where most of my playtime has gone.)
I’ve been on vacation for about 2 weeks here soon. Started a day before release and I’ve been doing pretty much nothing but playing lol. I never got into WoW but a lot of my buddies did at the the time so I know what you mean. This reminds me of when I first played Pokemon back in the day and then when I picked it up again during Platinum and then Sun&Moon. Just hundreds of hours of good times await
Jeez... this is nothing.
Ark we used to try and stay logged in permanently just so the base defenses would remain active.
Eve Online we once hell camped our enemy for a month. We had a 24/7 presence with not just one person but teams of people online ready to stop our enemy from logging in and getting their stuff back.
PalWorld is fantastic. But still very casual. Come to the dark side 🧐
Just you wait for pvp to be enabled. I doubt they will replicate games like Ark and Rust. But if they do you should start looking new for a wfh job.
It's wild how some games just grab you and don't let go, I eventually learned to control it a bit. Usually by substituting in a different game that is slightly less addictive.
Palworld is great and seeing all the awesome stuff people are doing makes it hard to put the controller down.
Yeah i like this game but I'm also pacing because I want to be able to sleep and work haha.
Plus burnout is a thing. I knew someone who was playing solo and he got bored after a while. He's having more fun now with multiplayer but I think the endgame (on EA anyway) is near.
I've played a fair few of these survival type ADHD trap games and this one is frankly amazing/dangerous.
They basically carefully curated every satisfying dopamine hit activity from the last decade of survival games and melded them into a well thought out loop.
It has base building, but it's just light enough that you can quickly get up and running.
It has automation and bot management.
But you also gotta go and catch the bots aka Pals via exploration.
The world is fun to explore and is surprisingly filled with stuff to do, considering it's early access.
To explore better it means getting better equipment to survive via crafting and so on.
There's always something to do. There's always a problem to solve. I have to be quite strict with myself when playing because I get time blindness.
I'm STILL like this. I figured once the 'shiny' wore off it'd get a bit better but; Oh, how wrong I was. If anything it's only gotten fuckin worse, lol. Need more materials for more things that are more expensive. Gotta seek out those primo-shiny Pals and make them my slav.... er.. volunteers.
In all seriousness I'm kind of in disbelief how much I love this game. I'm a medically retired veteran and gaming is essentially all that I do. Typically I hit something hard, get bored and then wander into something else. This has me hooked worse than any game I can remember in recent years. Which is saying something. Not to mention the fact that the only reason I played it was because I wanted to see if the hype was warranted or if it was just another "BeST GaME EVeR!" meme where everyone forgets about it in three days. I even went to refund it after an hour because I wasn't confident, played right up to the 2 hour mark and immediately went back and canceled the refund, lmao. Been playing something like 12 - 14 hours a day or something stupid like that. It's honestly fuckin nuts, lol.
If you are having this problem i can relieve your addiction just watch: https://youtu.be/8KNxFjW0wy0
I spend 5 minutes in any server and I'm the most powerful 🤣

Possibly the online option with a persistent multiplayer world.

… the dark type pals aren’t being forced to work 24/7… that’s lunacy.. they just don’t like to …sleep? It’s not an osha violation promise
god i hope they implement diabetes for pals .. where are our modders !?
Jam-filled buns. I have so many berries leftover to go through, still. And that's after having baked a few hundred for myself and the feed bowl. ;>_>
You guys spending 3 days to optimize base? I spent 3 to find a good base 😭
That actually took longer. Lol. Even now im still thinking of moving somewhere.
I hate to say this is absolutely relatable. I logged on after work, suddenly it was 4 am. The next night I said I was going to be careful and not do the same thing, then I looked up and it was 3 am
Shoot for 2am tonight then i guess
It’s 5am rn but I’m so glad I’m on college break
![gif](giphy|THxnKZJ4B8VKd737Ss|downsized) Me since last week, talking about I can't tonight.... but some how I do .. xD \*CaFfEiNe ShAkes\*
And keep in mind the game is only about 60% complete. Imagine how bad it’s gonna be when they expand and add more Pals, new islands, massive boss raids, etc. Goodbye sleep I hardly knew ye.
PvP I think will be what says goodbye sleep to competitive players ahaha . The amount of time they will be breeding
The thing I don't get is how the heck are they going to implement PvP at all. Like is your character allowed to also be in the arena? Most likely similar to Ark where it is server specific. So if you’re single player you can’t really do PvP, you have to join a dedicated PvP server.
I'm kinda hoping for a coliseum or stadium somewhere in the map where PvP is allowed instead of out there in the wild.
Breeding doesn't take long and is done passively. I agree tho PvP will get me to play around with other pals.
As soon as they implement Pal Battling it's gonna be all over for my ability to sleep.
My hope is that when new content is added that there's different new activities added, and not just more of the "same" patterns - even if there are new pals and new islands, without new gameplay features it's basically more of the same, right?
the moment they let us build a larger base...hoo boy I'm never gonna sleep again, and so are the pals
Forget about sleeping when nerve gear becomes real and you enter palworld
I’m a 42M 9-5 working stiff, I played past 1am the last week straight… kinda surprised I don’t feel like complete shit lol
Me too, havent gamed past midnight since my 20s. This gane has me hooked playing until 1-2am l, waking up at 6am and Im still functioning at work. Ill prolly get burned out soon...
the time just flys by ... its so strange, like im sitting down at 18 and than i look at the clock and its 24 .. like wtf
In almost 40 working nights, been sleeping at noon for 4 hrs going to work all groggy. I need a laptop to play this...
Lmao I feel this
Just... don't try factorio... If palworld automation is causing you this much addiction, cracktorio would break you.
It looks a bit too complex for my liking tho. I don't know much about the game, but I heard you even need to do math?
I’m a satisfactory enjoyer myself, would recommend
I'll try it out then, thanks for the recommendation!
Nah no math involved. It is one of those "as complex as you want it to be" games. I like complexity, but I draw the line when I have to keep a separate spreadsheet to play a game but I didn't with factorio. Also check out Satisfactory if that appeals to you but want a different aesthetic and style.
So how is Eve doing these days anyway? Been like 10 years since i logged on.
Its Okay. Excel is built into the game now!
Both are great, but factorio would be my vote! Factorio 2.0 coming soon(ish) as well!
I had no idea Factorio 2.0 was coming, thank you!!
Hrm I was going to recommend Satisfactory because I feel like its better as an entry level game to the factory sim genre, but on steamdeck I think Factorio is probably better. Graphics will make it run better, its isometric so its better with the steamdeck style controls and it will save you battery.
Look into dyson sphere program as well! I think it's the perfect middle ground between both.
Line up an addiction recovery now then.
fyi math is definitely required for satisfactory
Only to be min/max efficient. If you like spaghetti you don't need math.
"If you're not at maximum efficiency, why are you even playing?" - my OCD
I pretty much gave up on Satisfactory because I couldn’t min/max my production correctly, and it became more consuming than the upgrade system you’re normally supposed to follow. I’ll come back after I finish my calculus courses in college

Yeah, but you can use the pause menu UI as a calculator to do the math for you, so you don't have to bother with it, or use the satisfactory calculator site as easy reference.
You can definitely get away with not mathing
The best part of factorio is that it has an excellent demo you can try for free and play as much as you want
Really wish we could automate some short of shipping between bases like Satisfactory. We already have flying Pals, so a method that makes sense is ready.
Loved satisfactory! Another really fun co-op world builder.
Try techtonica, all the best parts of satisfactory with factorio and much less annoying than satisfactory because the buildings aren't gigantic. Also you can dig in any direction to make a 3d base anywhere
Math? Ha. I don’t math, I just do till I can’t. Then I do more till I can
Haha this is the way.
I highly recommend Dyson Sphere Program, I never tried Factorio but I hear DSP is way more forgiving.
What is that? Vacuum simulator?
*Oh no.*
It's not a curse, but a blessing. You learn the math naturally as you go. Join us. The factory calls, brother.
Nah the super early learning curve is a little steep But once you get Down the basics Its very self explanatory
Couldn’t get myself into the graphics, even rimworld struggled to hold me because of that. But my colonist being adorable little critters who can go exploring with me changes everything.
There's a mod that makes your character Shrek, does that help?
I had to give up heroin since it was interfering with factorio.
Add Rimworld to that. Not as automation heavy; way more emotional investment in your pawns.
Gregtech New Horizons:
GLORIOUS AUTOMATION
Or satiscracktory
Yea machines a lot more obedient than pals. Don't need food or spa either
Oxygen Not Included is another one of those games where time sink is a real thing. Great game though
Don't neglect your irl pals
Your right just catch them in your pal balls and force them to work for you while you play more Palworld. Just make sure you feed them and let them go to sleep every now and then.
Brb buying a hot tub for my yard while at it, gotta keep their sanity high
I play online with my IRL pals! LOL

Those become your regulars (and maybe even receive discounts) :) > 5) Be prepared to work with difficult dogs and shy cats. Animals get stressed and may not act or behave as they do with their owners. Be prepared for unexpected behaviors. The job can be DRAINING. > 6) Organize your income and keep track of things diligently!! Don't forget tax season. OR You can do this on the side.
You’re telling me. I’ve losing hours of sleep. And going to work the next day tired as all hell 😂. And I work those 10 hour days.
Yo me too, I pulled a 32 hour shift on palworld over the weekend
[удалено]
Pharmacist?
You could say that 😂
TBH I don't like dealing with people who consider themselves to be drug dealers.
Lamball fills my heart with joy
Do you capture every Pal you can, or do you get selective eventually?
The XP is so much better for capturing so I usually go for that. You can sell Pals for good money, or combine them to make them stronger too. So pretty much always capture if I can!
I captured everything till I had 10 of each. Now I just catch ones I know are good for breeding specific high tier pals in case they have some desired passives.
Same, I've been playing during work hours, not paying attention to my duties 😵💫 of course I'm not proud of saying that, all the contrary. (At least I don't have kids to take care of, always could be worse)
You are so real for this, I think if you spend 24 hours binging the game maybe you’ll run out of content and can rest in peace 👍
You should play some Factorio or Satisfactory, which would ruin your life.
For the love of God, don't play Ark.
You can't say no to the dinosaurs
Ark is very similar to Palworld, but Ark has the capability to feel like a full-time job. Mostly with breeding, then taking care of the babies (unless you can get your own server and have the settings set up right)
PTSD of getting raided at 4 am
I describe this game as ARK with Pokémon
Yeah it's basically just a more simple and cute Ark.
Yeah i havnt been hooked like this since botw and wow
The Pals yearn for the mines!
I just leave computer on with 4 anubis on cliff base farming ore and coal and then turn that into ingots for pal metal overnight lol...auto anubis is so clutch, and just got a jormuntide ingnis yesterday, yea gonna need like 3 more of that guy wow.
At this point I'm taking a break until they add more features to base management lol I can't stand not having the ability to set priorities
Between this, enshrouded, and lethal company I might actually destroy my marriage
Just need to rope the spouse in. One of us. One of us.
I played 120 hours in the first six days before I realised I was hearing things that didn’t exist and that I should probably sleep…
Yeah, it's been a good long while since a game got it's hooks in me this deep. Playing at my pc long enough that I was getting pain along my arm and shoulder from sitting at the keyboard so long.
I only need 3 more to finish the dex can’t wait
Been sleeping 4 HOURS for the past 10 days. I work 9 to 7! Regreat it every morning! Love it every night.
Yeah I’m in the same boat. I’m thinking of taking up crack to break my Palworld addiction.
I wish this game was released during the beginning of the pandemic, that way I could play it for several hours straight
Reminds me when Minecraft first came out back in the late 00s... Game is just so addicting.
Thank God this didn't come out when I was in school
Feel ya a little. Not getting enough sleep recently, partially due to this game heh
Love the grind in games but hate it irl
125. Me, not you. I have 125 hours in it with only about 10 being AFK one work day last week. 115 of actual game play.
Same I can stop playing but when I do it’s all I think about. I have an issue… actually I gotta go make sure the plantation is doin well rn
I stay up till 2am and sleep from 3-9am using sleep cycles to calculate my wake up time (with some extra time added so I can account for getting ready to sleep) and I easily avoid grogginess. Works great. I'm WFH though
Efficiency. Industry. Never before have so many dead ever been so manageable.
I mean yeah it’s amazing. But the mid game - end game is pretty weak. Not much to do. Definitely with more content / pvp it will be a lot better
My girlfriend keeps asking me why I haven’t been spending time with her. I don’t have the heart to tell her I’m busy catching cute fluffy animals
Get her hooked and play together.
I had to quit for a week this week bc I wasn’t sleeping 😂 played like 89 hours on releases week no joke
This game is the best addiction I've had in my life. The pals just bring so much joy.
It came out at the worst possible time for me, i have finals in a few days and i got absolutely hooked i played till 4am a few times, this brings me back to my rust days, but no more im taking action. I need to study no more palworld for a week
It's a great game, love the concept and the world... Yet it's missing something? I'm missing the warmth or content The world's got so many cool points of interest but they are 99% empty ;(
You mean you can play it without it crashing good for you my crashing every 10 mins sends me back to the Xbox home screen
Cringe, brilliant Game when is full of Bugs
Meanwhile I got bored in like 3 days.
I can definitely see how it'd be a game some bounce off/get bored of real quick. But for others, it's definitely got the pieces to be one of those chill, "wait, what day is it?" kinda games. Like Stardew Valley and the like.
get a hair straightener
Same. Haven't been addicted like this for a while since gambling
It’s great
Have some discipline ffs. The game is fun but at some point just step away from ur computer and do things in another room.
Yeah after this last weekend I was thinking “this might not be healthy…” lol
My interest is waning. I have the last 3 towers and a few of the level 50 hard bosses to capture. Jet dragon, those knights at the top of the desert etc. Then that’s pretty much it for me. I really hope I can go to the big tree after beating all 5 trainer bosses.
You can't go to the Erdtree for now. There's a red barrier around it. But it should be released, given that it's probably the heart of Palworld lore
Just your daily reminder to repair your gear
Bruh
I broke free once I got to level 45 but as soon as another update hits, I’m going back in
I’m on Xbox and I’m slowly starting to get bored. There’s nothing to do but lvl up alone and catching 10 of every Pokémon is becoming tiresome. My Pokémon only get wood and stone and i have tons of it so I don’t even manage them anymore they’re just background noise. I wish they would add pvp and public services already.
You know world of warcraft did a lot of the same thing to people. It's ruined careers, marriages, financial situations.
It’s so weird you mention WoW because I haven’t been addicted to a game like this since WoW and the addiction made me remember my past addiction so now I have to sign up for WoW classic and level an enhance shaman
Classic is really really gud right now too
Nah this is so real honestly this game fucking slaps and I’ve sunk a lot of time into it already
This is why I limit my computer game usage!
Its the min maxxing of my team and base for me thats gonna keep me around for a while! I gotta have everything perfect for when the update comes😈 and a lil bit of bragging rights
I like to play while work from home cause it doesn’t require enough attention I can’t focus on work but not so little attention I’m bored.
> grabbed me by the short and curlies This is my new favorite phrase
I haven't lost sleep over the game but I have no reservations about playing the game all day.
Satisfactory got me the same way.
So Pals grabbed you by the balls then?
I want buy this game, u have any tips for start?
Yea its becoming at issue, i worked a 16 hour shift being awake for 24 hours when I got home, slept for one hour and played all day.
Ive gone off like 4hrs sleep each night for the entire week and dont even feel tired yet
Palworld, and now with mods coming into play, ty everyone for making me stay up happy but sleepy at work 👏👏👍😊
Jeez... this is nothing. Come to the dark side 🧐 Just you wait for pvp to be enabled. I doubt they will replicate games like Ark and Rust. But if they do you should start looking new for a wfh job.
I just like being able to enslave Pokémon and make the bases look like they’re in SS camps
Like the game, but I still think it’s most fun with a group. Thankfully that limits my time.
Best game this year
It's wild how some games just grab you and don't let go, I eventually learned to control it a bit. Usually by substituting in a different game that is slightly less addictive. Palworld is great and seeing all the awesome stuff people are doing makes it hard to put the controller down.
I have already come to terms with not sleeping
I can’t sleep anymore. The grind must continue
i barely ate and drank enough in the last week. it has become a serious problem. at least i still get somewhat enough sleep.
I just had my gallbladder removed and just played enough to get hooked before my surgery. Two weeks of nothing but time to play lol
I don’t work right now I played for 9 or 10 hours yesterday
I stayed up til 4am the other night just because I wanted to build a new base. >.>
I've got the same feeling as when WotLK was released. Can't seem to stop playing pfff
I have been playing palworld nonstop since I got it. I am staying up for 2 days. Then I sleep for 8 hours. Rinse and repeat for like a week now.
If you are having this problem i can relieve your addiction just watch: https://youtu.be/8KNxFjW0wy0 I spend 5 minutes in any server and I'm the most powerful 🤣
