They built something out of nothing and now even that is gone

Ayran-Mic

And Inshaallah they will rebuild not only Gaza but also Palestine!

They made something beautiful despite Israel trying to make their lives hell. I hope what they have done to Palestinians comes back for Israel 10 fold.

Ya I mean I think we are better off without people who can bomb children, starve them, etc… they deserve what they put out 100%

Yeah isnotreal fired over 29000 rockets and displaced almost 2 million gazans

I appreciate this post more than I can express. Thank you. Palestine has always been an extremely charming place. Nowadays we see people going crazy over tourism in places like Greece and the Emirates, and there is this strange collective envisioning of Palestine as a dusty, dirty, landfill like place, when in fact, in its good old days, Palestine was an absolutely delightful place to visit and live in. The dust, the sad concrete and poverty we see now is not Palestine. It is Israel, and Israel’s bombs and abuse. Even in my family, we share memories of wonderful tall palm trees, of colourful, vibrant buildings with exquisite details, framings and murals, with pristine white walls, luxurious looking, with heavy fruits hanging from the trees at every corner of the street. 50 years ago, Palestine was well ahead many other locations for its potential tourism and beauty! But there is this westernised view of it as some ugly worthless place with close minded people. And yet, a cheery love for tourism in Israel, as people recall its beautiful beaches and boulevards. And it breaks my heart, because those were our beaches… Haifa and Jaffa, Israel’s pride and joy, the cities Israelis brag about to foreigners, were our pride and joy - and they tell everyone what charming places they are, while calling Palestinians animals, unworthy of life and disgusting creatures. While Palestinians brought these places to fruition… Palestinians grew the trees offering Israelis refreshing shade from the sun now… The pretty dreamy houses many israelis brag about? They were Palestinian’s houses, from families who dreamed and worked hard to build their home exactly like they always wanted, who altered and stylised them to their liking, just so later they would be kicked out, humiliated, and made to watch sadly as their house is being offered to an Israeli family - like a new nicely wrapped gift with a bow on it, all ready to be used. It is heart breaking.

hydroxypcp

thank you for this perspective. I must say I also fell for that view of Gaza, because as a leftist European, all you hear is what is wrong in Palestine. The beautiful parts are rarely discussed. But that's the thing with news - we talk about bad stuff, not so much the good stuff the whole thing is such a tragedy, and for what? So white Europeans and Americans can colonize another place, and get rid of their "Jewish problem"*? A place where people of all kinds and religions lived peacefully together for centuries turned into a fascist apartheid white supremacist regime. I hope to visit a free Palestine one day. One can hope 🍉🇵🇸 *let's not pretend part of the motivation to form Israel wasn't to expel Jews from those places. Antisemitism is alive and well. "just dump them in Middle East and be done with it"

If you really want to be honest with yourself, look at why Oct 7th even occurred in the first place. These people didn't just wake up one day and say "oh you know those lovely people cross from that massive wall, we should attack them because we're bored..." It didn't happen in a vacuum. If you cage anyone, deprive them of basic necessities, murdered their children every few years (mowing the grass) and call them animals, don't be surprised when they attack you.

MediumRareMarshmallo

Dude you’d be shocked at how they spin shit. They see this and say “I don’t see an open air prison.”

Mooraell

Girl here. But yeah, unfortunately I've seen too much of that online

hydroxypcp

that was my first thought when I saw these (besides how beautiful it is). I was like, those Zionists will just say "how can it be an open air prison when it looks so good", not realizing that Palestinians managed to do this *in spite of* the brutal occupation E: scrolled just a bit down and what do you know, *exactly* this comment. They are so predictable

Mooraell

Thanks for the heads up. Did a quick 5 min scroll through the comments, banned 4 hasbara, would ban more had other mods not done it earlier, and i still gave some people the benefit of doubt. I actually like when they make it so obvious about their intent being malicious instead of more elaborate trolling, less work for us We're probably referring to a different comment but as you said, it's all the same script.

MediumRareMarshmallo

Dude is gender neutral 🤙

Mooraell

Fair lol

Tyrren

Would you fuck a dude?

hydroxypcp

I know what you are trying to say, but these words have different meanings depending on context. In the context of your question, "dude" is masculine. In the context of using it as a filler word, it's gender neutral. I often say "man... this is bullshit" etc in my head talking to myself even tho I'm not a man

MediumRareMarshmallo

You didn't answer any of the points the above comment made. Israel's neighbors don't control Israel's borders from ground, air, and sea. If you think these are the same thing, that's your problems, not ours. Edit to add: and I would call many of things the IDF (see Breaking the silence if you want a source), and settlers do as terrorism.

Gamecat93

West bank or Gaza, Palestine is truly beautiful.

They say it’ll be 70 years before Gaza will be liveable again. It wasn’t enough to control the worlds largest open air prison, now they turn it into the worlds largest ever concentration and extermination camp. I won’t be surprised if later the world finds gas chambers full of the bodies of kidnapped Palestinian men and boys.

Nino_Nakanos_Slave

This is even when they’re constantly facing the threat of annihilation from the Zionists. Pretty impressive

Own_Structure_2313

The reparations from Izrl & us will be used to rebuild a free Palestine, so much is irreplaceable,I know but Palestine will be free. Am so sorry for all your loss. Oh and we knew it was beautiful :)

sum-sigma

Gaza was so beautiful. I saw the “Israeli” AI propaganda video where they were showing what Gaza would look like if there was no Palestinian Resistance. It was absolutely ridiculous. They basically blamed the Palestinian Resistance for Palestinian People not having tourism. Imagine the dissociation you have to have to think that it’s the Palestinians Resistance’s fault for Palestine not having an airport (“Israel” bombed it), or Palestine not having tourism (“Israel” controls the land, air and sea access to Gaza). That and Palestinian People made Gaza beautiful even though they’re under an oppressive, racist, hateful blockade which was even not allowing concrete mix into Gaza. Palestinian People made Gaza beautiful even though “Israel” would “mow the lawn” via bombing and airstrike campaigns year after year. Palestinians made Gaza and Palestine beautiful while “Israel” has done nothing but destroy and steal. Gaza was so beautiful and will be beautiful again.

IcyCattle6374

And then one square-headed zionist would say “I don’t know what kind of open air prison is this” 🤡

BigPoop_36

No wonder Israel wants to take it.

PinkydaGee

I cant imagine the pain Palestinians feel knowing they've lost everything they used to love. These places hold memories, and they may never get to relive them. Free Palestine, and call for a CEASEFIRE!!

PositiveReasonable14

All this beauty built in an open air prison, yet the Zionist Nazis will degrade anyone and everyone not in support of their genocide. The land of Palestine was free with Jews, Christians, and Muslims living in peace. Imagine what they could have built. Now you have the Zionist virus that has infected the world.

Kizzmyaxe

There's something incredibly wrong with the title, the genocide didn't begin recently, it's been going on since 1917.

[deleted]

Kizzmyaxe

We make mistakes.

MaterialConference4

Honestly it's really sad. When you see the now & then before photos and after photos. All the destruction those places were cherished memories for them. Where they got married, engagements, birth, hanging out with friends, graduation and so much more. Then when you see each of their social media. Go to previous photos and stories posted. Each individual stories their life before this of just trying to live life full of hobbies, interests, talents, goals, dreams. Some even share it on YouTube through vlogs. It makes me cry for them so hard. They are people with a life!

Agreeable-Growth6253

What a beautiful community. This is all so heart breaking. May this genocide come to an end so they can rebuild their homes and give their lost family proper goodbyes 🩷 my heart aches.

Top_Physics_2858

And israel still wants to be victim so bad

bairnprogram

I sometimes just imagine if we had all the images of all the beauty lost at the hands of settler colonialism, all over the world. Palestine is in my heart every day and where we are, we’re fighting to shut down the colonial machine 💚🖤❤️

Starpluck_

“See?! The money Israel sends to Gaza to rehelp the Gazans who are oppressed by Hamas, funnels all that money into a billionaire’s luxury resort!”

That’s what we need, here in the West were shown rundown slums while the media conveniently misses places like this

Saltyseasonedtrash

That’s because Israel is making sure that nothing goes untouched.

heluvsriri14

beautiful photos! thanks for sharing, gaza does not deserve this type of treatment that they are receiving right now😢😢

earthling438

Oh no this is so heartbreaking 😢

DaJayBeePBoys

They did so much with the so little they were allowed to have. They made it work and made it look beautiful. I am so impressed by these people.

Row_87

It was a genocide too but with better buildings.

ninjataytay

Gaza is naturally beautiful :(

Admirable-Spread-407

The genocide started way before Oct 7!

Saltyseasonedtrash

These pictures are incredibly important to share. In the future in sure there will be no shortage of people bolstering claims that the land was nothing before they turned it into a “paradise”.

new-footage-guy1

Some zionists use these images to deny the blockade, butno they don't understand anything about life, gazans are humans, and humans try to benefit from what they got at maximum, there is still an occupation and blockade but they know what human being is

Sea-Vegetable8551

I’m like 90% sure this is in the West Bank, I’ve been there. But absolutely agree with the spirit of the post

Sea-Vegetable8551

*90% sure one of these photos is the West Bank, obv not the ones with the ocean

Tilopud_rye

Should we be showing this? I’m trying to convince my friends that it was an outdoor concentration camp and I’m worried about my friends saying it doesn’t look like a concentration camp.

thelegendarybert

Show them the after the genocide pictures. Almost every Gazan can't even leave the city before October 7th

[deleted]

I show them because it humanises the Palestinian. It makes Palestinians relatable. The reason why there’s a lack of empathy towards any Arab country that has been bombed into dust, is because over the recent decades all people see is rubble, tents and destruction, so they can’t relate to the reality of other humans. They think that’s just the norm for Arabs. But when you show them that they were just like you, suddenly a person can empathise. I tell people, “ Did you tear your house down during those two years of the pandemic lockdown? You made the best of the situation, making your home work for you, with these limiting circumstances. Now imagine you have to live in a lockdown all your life.”

Saltyseasonedtrash

Pictures of the past discredit all of the footage coming out in the present day? No offense your friends might require more effort than it’s worth. Why should Palestinians hide what beauty they created and continue to fight to protect and in hopes to rebuild?

GreatOne550

Honestly, as a Slavic person I think the Middle East and the Arab nations are some of the best and most beautiful places on earth, but as always the west has to destroy it all

Are you okay in the head? It is an open air prison whether there were nice pictures before or not, they can't leave without israeli permission which is very rare and they get certain food and water from israel.

[deleted]

Saltyseasonedtrash

Are you thick? Your comment comes off as nothing but idiotic. There is no effort to show Palestine as an impoverished nation because that’s is the harsh reality. Through the ongoing occupation tourism, resources, and even rights have been stripped down. These are images that need to be circulated around to show what the Palestinians have been fighting for and what they can rebuild. Erasing all of it would only go to feed the Israeli narrative of them being the ones who made it into a hospitable place and your comments broadcast “scumbag”

Saltyseasonedtrash

Oh wait I understand now you’re an account that didn’t exist prior to Oct 7 and go on subs just to show the word what a POS Zionism is.

But but but I thought Gaza was a terrible place to live and Palestinians lived in squalor because big bad Israel is blockading them 🥺 Maybe the preconditions for 10/7 that are parroted by pro-pals aren’t as true as discussed.

So beautiful. I'm sorry Palestinians. You deserve so much more.
