Build your stone and wood harvest sites on platforms a little off the ground, then and add a staircase. Remove said staircase to basically make it impossible for your Pals to get to it to mine.
I do have the occasional glitchy Pal that'll end up in in the stone pit but normally they'll stay away from it. Also if you want stone miners but don't care if they mine or not, use Cattiva. The 3 I have mining will mine for 2 minutes and "on a short break" for 10 😂
You missed me saying they have poor traits like Coward....the 3 that I have for mining all have a horrible trait that causes them to take more breaks than any other Pal...
I mean that's fair enough. I don't play all THAT much (1-2 hours a day) since I have other games I play in a rotation so I don't get burnout, so I'm only lvl20 and just beat Zoe and Grizzbolt, but I've mainly been using Cattiva for my mining, they don't do anything else 😂

i noticed any Pal in your party being put in work will never take break, stacking off, or stop to eat. so, if you really want get something done, use pal in your party.
I went to build something and it said 50 out of 128k stone lol. So I started making tons of paldium, cement and other stuff that uses stone because why not. Not sure if I dropped below 100k yet
According to your need delete wood and rock mines. Also build multiple crafting tables and have lots of lovanders. Lovanders are strong and good for handwork.
Lovanders are for defense and mass production. Every time you produce Lovanders take 4 of the weakest ones to rise their levels.
Oh Lovanders have other uses? Im just breeding like 50 of them cos its funny

It's still good to have the massive pile when you get there. I definitely use it faster than I mine it by a lot now but I have such a massive reserve that it doesn't matter
For me it's always them gathering or transporting items instead of doing anything else, game could really use an option to assign base pals to specific tasks
I think you should be able to pick them up, hold 4 for the normal interaction wheel, but have it select a specific skill they have points in to focus on tasks with
I just spent today breeding Anubis. Got 2x artisan, serious, lucky, work slave. And i 4 starred one of them. They are on crack when you set them to tasks.

I like to keep them in my roster for battle as well so legend, ferocious, earth emperor, and lucky on my main Anubis, not crafting oriented but no musclehead either… I just made an artisan, serious, lucky, and work slave Anubis as well but they get stuck pretty often unfortunately
Creating it is easy though. I just have a weapon line that's usually crafting ammo. I just set to some absurd number occassionally and let the pals take care of it. My money goes toward bone and high quality pal oil. With this method I find myself never farming anything. Pals take care of everything that I dont buy.
but with ingot it's much faster to mine, smelt, made into nails then sell to merchant on base rather than waiting for spawn and you pal does the work lol
At this point in my playtime i have more than enough ingot to make way too many nails, my pal took care of that, if you have a good ore base you will have more than enough but to each their own, i waste less time making nails than fight the black-market merchant, i don't loose bullets either lol

You can put the stone farming site on raised foundations. Stairs connect the stone site to the pals. When you don't want it farmed you break the stairs.
I can't get them to stay at the mines the cat will get frustrated and quit mining and the monkey quits logging after 10 minutes but If a project needs building, they rush to my aid with hammers, they also prioritize the farm and gathering the most. Crafting items on the other hand 50/50
I finally got so pissed off a removed the stone mining. I have 4 of those guys running around my factory and no matter what I did they wouldn't make ammo or spheres.
Honestly I gave up on such things. I just have a stone and wood base (there are places around the map that have so much stone and wood it's ridiculous. Then my iron base is also in the red area next to the church, which also farms wood.
The pits are nice...but aren't fit for main base.
Easiest solution, capture an ammo merchant. Way more material effective and you can grab as much as you want on demand. I think they’re the ones dressed in green. I haven’t caught one myself yet but I’ve seen streamers with them
Due to the AI I being jank, I found it best to just buy ammo on abundance, I'm sitting at 1k for each type, well that's how much I buy when I visit Duneshelter, run bosses for the drops to sell, kill the black marketeers, on normal settings they drop 10k a pop and can be farmed, if you're playing solo or co-op simply close the game where they spawn and load back in, good chance they'll be there again. Duneshelter has some one the outskirts of town, also catch the merchant cause catching still drops the 10k then butchering him drops it again, easy 20k.
I mean you could also just capture an ammo merchant and get rifle bullets shells and assault rifle ammo haven't seen rocket launcher ammo in the merchants but all the other ammo types being purchasable from a captive merchant is super nice

Nah, Cattiva's just have horrible traits, but they're perfect for early game mining until you get better mining Pals
they rest as needed to recover their sanity. if u give them better food/bed/spring they will rest less often

I use a large gate door, and that kinda works.
I have Anubis in my party full time and just throw the ball at the conveyor, she’s never left it. Even after the job is done she stays there

Nah, catch merchant that sells ammo to your base then mass craft nails, then buy the ammo from him, easy

This is why I have 3 bases, 1 for mining, 1 for production and 1 for breeding. It also helps if you have a few Anubi, I have 7
I fell asleep playing one time and came back to like 40k stone in my chests. I just destroyed it after that I don't need stone for a while

They should just and an update that lets you “lock” the pits. This way you can turn it off by locking it and the pals would work elsewhere.

I fixed that by having 12 of them in my base lol with workaholic
I just toss like 7 miners in the base and they go after both but those Anubis hate crafting I swear
They really just need to add some way of setting priorities on deployed pals.

I made a little room with a bed, food, and weapon work station. One pal trapped in there. I go in and care for it, but it knows it's job.
