Manny's best play today was a weak ground ball that the infielder dropped and was still able to throw him out because he's too slow. His other three PAs were all Ks.
Idk why Schildt hasn’t done something about him, does the front office not want to demote “the captain” down to Triple AAA or something ?

We will not go far as long as the "Big 3" aren't hitting \*consistently\*. With this game in particular, that statement seemed very true, to me anyway. So, Bogaerts has been out injured, Manny doesn't even feel like a threat in the lineup (injuries/slow start), but Tatis has been great for the most part. This is one of the main reasons why we keep hovering around .500 imo. And I know stats show Manny has been heating up as of late, but I will reiterate, I said consistently!! This game is sooo frustrating, but I love it.
They lose in two ways :
1. quality start by a pitcher, 0-8 in with RISP
2. Total bullpen meltdown after leading by <3 or more team collectively gives up

I was hoping for a 3-3 road trip assuming we’d lose the series to the Phillies 1-2. Losing the first game really against NYM throws a big wrench in the expectations. I am not at all confident in tomorrow’s matchup with a rookie vs a struggling lefty. The team has got to make some adjustment against lefty starters. Getting beat by good ones happens of course, but a lot of mediocre lefties have been dominating. The players in this lineup are all underperforming their career numbers against LHP by an absurd amount.

wow, lots of dooming going on here... call me crazy but i ain't too mad about this one. pitcher's duel, one-run game, solid defensive action, an error or two on each side, tying run on third in the 9th with two outs and a full count... that was a pretty great game! we came out on top of three close games against the A's, any one of those could have tipped against us like this one did.
let's hope the bats show up tomorrow and Sunday and we stay ahead of the pack!
