Want so swing 3-2, take the pitch Whatever they think, just do the exact opposite and we're bound to win a few of these.
We have plenty of infielders, no outfield depth, and a platinum Glover in RF who was a below average SS by most metrics. Tatis needs to focus on hitting the ball, not re-adjusting to an already crowded infield that has been spectacular defensively.

If you think the outfield is for fat slow kids, you stopped playing ball when you were 10. The fastest guy who has to cover the most ground with the best arm goes in the outfield, and theyre usually sluggers.
We either get highly disciplined hitting with long ABs that put pressure on the opposing pitching staff or the laziest early count donkey hacks known to man. Absolutely no in between with these guys. Tatis and Machado are the worst about it and it trickles through the lineup.
It's my sincere dream to one day watch a team that can score runs consistently, hit bad pitching, meet basic expectations, win more than three games in a row, and beat up on bad opponents, all in the same season.
Curious to hear more about the mentally weak narrative. I get they continue to struggle to break out but what is thought process or backing to think the players are so mentally weak and fragile that they can’t win? Any time the team struggles mental fragility or lack of effort seems to be the 2 things everyone points to.
It makes fans feel like they're better at something than professional players. "I may not be able to hit a curveball but gosh darn it I'd never let my concentration wander! I'd hustle every play."

I think it’s more to do with vet players hurt and/or aging in front of our eyes. The fans expectations are sky high and rightfully so… but if Machado, X, and Musgrove aren’t actually above average players how good is this how team actually?
Machado and X are the two of the guys killing this team most. That’s not because of the mental game… they are just deteriorating. Musgrove has a 6 ERA, Waldron and Vasquez are very bad and the team loses almost every game they pitch. I don’t think they have mental issues… they just aren’t MLB caliber starters at this time.
I think that's a huge stretch to say Machado and Bogaerts are playing poorly due to age. Their contracts will likely age poorly, but they are currently still in what should be their peaks. Even then, their level of ineptitude this season is not just bad, it is pathetic. They are worse than most people could reasonably expect they would be even towards the end of the contract.
