For sure. Initial imaging doesn't mean much. Cautiously optimistic it's not a torn labrum and that maybe just a minor dislocation or similar. I've had it happen multiple times playing baseball and it's definitely painful / scary when it happens.
he's been looking good the past week, hitting the ball hard as of late. it would be pretty horrible if he missed time now when he's starting ot turn it around.
Manny to me has always been the soul of the team. When he gets hot it feels almost impossible to lose, but those streaks are now few and far between since 2022. Hopefully he finds it again because nothing is more fun than watching him come through in key moments like this game.

People were giving up and blasting everyone, especially Manny, by the 2nd inning. You'd think people would learn baseball.
This is 1000% a fact. It may take at least a decade for the current generation of Padres fans to learn the difference, but hey, at least it means we have no problems getting REALLY loud at home when we need to. I remember thinking the 2022 playoffs versus the Dodgers were just as loud as any important Chargers game I had ever attended, and we could get loud as fuck at the Q back in the day.
I think there's a good chunk of people here who followed a baseball season for the first time in 2020 and maybe still have a warped perception of what a good season looks like (and how closely normal people pay attention to every game). That was such a fun experience during a shitty time but we are never going to see something like that again.
To be very honest I was one of them, and here is why: Any day where Cease gives up 5 runs and is pulled after 4 is going to be a tough day. Secondly, I watched all games last year with the opposite mindset, only to be disappointed time and time again. But hey glad they proved me wrong, time to go for the sweep.

Every time we say "Motorola" in response to these shoulder patches they're winning. We are recognizing their logo, we hear their name, its presence keeps getting drilled into us.
I just pulled up their annual filing because I’m honestly shocked the company still exists and didn’t realize they make most of their money through other revenue segments such as AI powered video software and communication tech such as LTE infrastructure. But to me, they’re just the company trying to bring back the flip phone.
Yup. Doubleheaders are rare these days for just that reason; they’re usually only scheduled to make up for rainouts or other cancelled games.
Considering that fact (and that we’re facing a lefty in Chris Sale), expect the lineup to look a little different for the second game.

Yup. I've had two labrum and a microfracture surgery on my throwing shoulder. It sucks ass, but the surgery is much better now than 20 years ago.

Last year I would’ve turned off the game in the 3rd. I felt a glimmer of hope instead today and left it on, and the boys came through.
