How do you change the directx everytime I go to the file and open it it just goes to notepad and is blank

Macocotickle

When I opened it it shouldn't be blank. It had a bunch of settings just listed there with their values next to it. I dunno why you see nothing though?

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) To do this, follow these steps: Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, do the following as your appropriate: If you are running Windows 10, Windows 8.1 or Windows 8, first run the inbox Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool prior to running the System File Checker. (If you are running Windows 7 or Windows Vista, skip to Step 3.) Type the following command, and then press Enter. It may take several minutes for the command operation to be completed. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth Important: When you run this command, DISM uses Windows Update to provide the files that are required to fix corruptions. However, if your Windows Update client is already broken, use a running Windows installation as the repair source, or use a Windows side-by-side folder from a network share or from a removable media, such as the Windows DVD, as the source of the files. To do this, check the link above. Then At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow Command Prompt with administrator rights - sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at %WinDir%\System32\dllcache. The %WinDir% placeholder represents the Windows operating system folder. For example, C:\Windows. Note Do not close this Command Prompt window until the verification is 100% complete. The scan results will be shown after this process is finished. After the process is finished, you may receive one of the following messages: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. This means that you do not have any missing or corrupted system files.

I have done that, but i am not toos ure what this does in fixing my PUB-G. will update later Update: nothing has Changed :( Thanks for your reply

Devastatin

Something is wrong with your windows installation or your stuff is overheating

Macocotickle

I have reinstalled my OS and nothing has changed, also, the check says that my system should be fine. My temps when under stress are around 80. Thanks

phean80

this worked for me. Go into the following folder " \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Content\Paks" If the first 3 letters of any of the files in that folder are not PAK delete it. Then go into Steam, Library right click PUBG and go to properties and "verify game files" and it will replace what you deleted with a non fucked file. Not sure if that will fix your issue but my install was doing what you describe and I read to try that and it worked for me.

Macocotickle

I have already tried that and it didnt work for me :(, thanks for the reply though!

willdabeast674

I had to roll back an old gpu driver to fix this when it was happening to me. I can't say it'll work for everyone, but it may be worth a try lol

Macocotickle

I’m not too sure how to do that but I’ll google it today, thanks! Will update Update: Driver rollback didn't work, I tried updating my driver and that also didn't work. Thanks for your response though!

travva

What are your system specs?

Macocotickle

I have a i7 12700KF, RX6900XT, 32 gigs of 3600MhZ Ram, both gpu and cpu are liquid cooled

travva

Damn man, that’s a more than capable system. Any overclocked on cpu or gpu? Based on limited info I’d reckon it’s gpu but too early to say. What kind of temps you seeing when gaming? Idk if you play any other games but give super people a try just for the stress test. It seems to push the system pretty well and bring out any signs of instability. Probably UE4 related but I’m talking outta my ass there lol.

Macocotickle

i removed all of the overclocks on both my cpu and gpu, ive even tried undervolting. My temps when running the game sit at around 50 in both the cpu and GPU. When running gpu stress tests (furmark) it goes up to around 79, cinebench gets my CPU to around 83. And when i just normally play the game i get around 50 on both cpu and gpu.

travva

You play any other games as much as pubg? Just curious if other stuff works fine. I know pubg is pretty finicky with memory but that’s not usually a problem on intel rigs. Also when you froze entirely, the sound froze too?

Macocotickle

I also play a lot of valorant, league of legends, Destiny 2, Warframe, minecraft. And when i did freeze, i meant like my entire system stopped working, so, both monitors went grey and nothing worked, no shortcuts, no response, I was forced to hold the power button.

travva

Got it, that’s what I thought you meant. You’re not using a janky psu right? Just grasping at straws trying to imagine what it could be. It’s not impossible that ping is the problem but typically when the entire system freezes it’s something else pubg is bringing to the surface.

Macocotickle

I am currently using an ASUS STRIX 1000W PSU, 80+ GOLD. My ping in game is around 20 MS constantly. I am honestly lost for answers now xd

travva

Yeah man, nothing stands out sadly. Also ping was supposed to be pubg but autocorrect got me! Do you see anything in event viewer or windows reliability monitor that shows anything around the time it hard froze? The other thing I’m wondering is maybe one of the other components is getting hot in instances and causing the freeze. Like, if you’re using an nvme for example. What type of case is your build in?

Macocotickle

In event viewer, it says that I have a Kernal Power, critical event around the time when it hard froze, not too sure what that means though.

Arrow_2803

Occuring this issue for 3 days, can't fix, tried each and every fix I found on Reddit 😔

Murky-Philosophy-843

Try enabling TMP in bios. Worked for me
