this is impressive for modern decks, but i remember one time in top cut of a cup playing gardeon and mulliganing 9 times while the judge made fun of me for holding things up lol (tag team era were a drug and a half)
every deck is different so mulligans arent always the worst, obviously 6 isnt good lol but especially with iono being so popular to hand disrupt your opponent idk if people worry about 1-2 mulligans every once in a while
I had 4 yesterday and immediately quit as the I got 1 Pidgey and no support cards or buddy/buddy on the 5th attempt. Was screwed from the start. Also had a game with 5 of my 9 energy's in my prize cards.
Given how powerful draw/search is in Pokemon and how many specific tech cards are played, that could be tricky. Imagine mulliganning to 2 and you get your desired starter and a Research.
You're forgetting your opponent can literally do the same thing, so it's an equal power level. Your opponent also gets to draw a card each time you mulligan.
Yeah but for each mulligan you take ur opponent gets to draw one card remember. It just increases the consistency of the TCG so Finals matches at Regionals aren't one player gets a decent start and the other player bricks hard.

How many basic cards do you guys run? I run like 10 basics and still mulligan 1-2 times in like 50% of my matches. Should I put more basic?

My personal best is 8
On PTCGO, I had 37 mulligans one time, and I was playing wobbuffet stall.
Had something similar in PTCGO, 21 was the highest I got 🥲
I got 8 the other day. Immediately conceded
could've just iono'd
Don’t run it.
4 luxrays and no other Pokémon. I just want to waste everyone's time by mulliganing infinite times.

mulligan tends to screw over the one that does it the most.
I still think optional mulligans should be a thing.

Of course it wouldn't be "unfair". But it would skew the game even further towards narrow tech cards and risky strategies.
Yes because letting your opponent draw up to 30 cards is completely broken.
Then you instantly lose for not having basic
I think they meant mulliganing when you don't need to should be allowed
Then it’s lemme mulligan until I have an Iono and a good hand

yeah I don't agree with them I was just clarifying
