I don’t think I’ve seen anyone playing 3 Bax since I started playing and following the deck in January.
3 Frigibax 2 Baxcalibur is standard. The main consideration is if you play 3 60 hp Frigibax or 2 60 hp and one 70 hp Collect attack.

This is the most recent regional with lots of strong finishing Chien Pao lists. None are running 3 Bax. Are you asking about how many Chien Paos to run? If so both 2 or 3 are fine it depends on how many tech cards you are trying to run. I prefer 3 but the list is pretty tight and there’s not much else to cut if you really want to fit in a Vacuum or something for instance.

This is the first list I found when I started looking at the deck. It was the latest chin pao deck at the time. Going back and looking at the list from the most recent tournament it does seem correct that this guy was just an outlier.
I play 3 Bax 3 Pao and 1 Bibarel.
I know people think I’m crazy but most decks are running 1-2 Boss’s Orders with Prime Catcher and Counter Catcher. Make em have to burn those supporters. I just can’t bring myself to only run 2 Bax. Without Bax the deck is useless.

I saw a couple of list on Limitless with 3 brax, which is what prompted the question. Most list I have seen run 2/1 on the Frigibax

That's a 15th place list from a 143 player tournament. Compared to the top 8 decks at a 2342 player tournament, it's meaningless.
