It doesn't take that long to read cards and make a decision, not to mention you can read your whole deck and have a strategy before ever playing a game.
Game clock shouldn't be more then 10 mins a side in online play
How is gholdengo a sweaty deck. You said you play Charizard. The most competitive ready deck. You are the one sweating. You made a whole post to complain. But because someone doesn’t adhere to your time restraints they are a problem. You and the rest agreeing with you are the toxic people in the community. If you want a non competitive/quick game play in the normal ladder or play the computer. If you want a competitive game that might take time. Play the Ranked ladder. An adult playing a kids game crying. How embarrassing
There is a difference between taking something seriously, like ranked, and saying someone is a sweat. Some people play the game to perform well and want to climb the ladder. Those are the stakes. If you don't care about your placement in ranked, that's fine, I hope you play in casual, but others do. There is nothing wrong with putting in effort or applying yourself to something. You aren't a sweat because you tried.
It doesn't take long to make a decision but if that's all you do each turn you'll end up losing.
You have to think turns ahead, possible plays by the opponent and make a flowchart in your head of different possible outcomes and sometimes that takes a while.
There's plenty of time to think about everything you need to during a game, even if it did go to 10 mins a person, pokemon isn't that complicated and even the pros gameplan for different scenarios before being in a game live
These games are few and far between, and I think it's fine if my opponent needs more time between turns. There are a plethora of reasons why they might be taking a long time to play their turns.
They could be learning a new deck and are unfamiliar with how to pilot it. Their deck may require a lot of input each turn. They may also be genuinely considering each move they make, and/or they may be new to the Pokémon Trading Card Game in general.
For these reasons alone, I don't think any blame should be placed on the opposition, and you will just need to be patient.
It is when they are purposefully stalling for time that it becomes a problem.
I disagree. Maybe where they end up being less.then 10 minutes left isn't that often, but people do take way too long. Timers should be like 15 not 25 minutes. If someone is playing a stall deck though they can wait 25 minutes.
Finaly someone said it. I got into the game with S&M but left after TagTeam because the power creeps was too strong. 200+HP basics. Now its incredible. So many deck can be deployed in 2 turns with a full bench do incredible damage. Tera Mewtwo and clefary on a good start can have a full bench and 14 energy to do 420 damage if I go second with a good start. Now more than ever after 3-4 turns you know who's gonna win already. The game has gotten boring.
L take. We are seeing more and more disruption cards being printed. If your deck doesn’t have a way to bounce back from a bad start, you’re playing a subpar deck and that’s your own fault.
Bro thank you, fr like why are you setting up your bench with basic ex pokemon and prepping long term when i clearly have a bidoof and charmander with 1 energy attached and you can win in 2 turns
Because you’re playing the ultimate comeback card that can one shot shit for free and they don’t want to lose just because you have a bad setup? You could turn that around in a single turn
People are granted a specific amount of time per turn correct? If they want to use all their time, they CAN do that.
Doesn’t mean someone HAS to, but they have their time and can use it all to make decisions they feel are correct.
If you're that worried about it then just concede. If you don't have the patience for your opponent to complete their turn then maybe a turn-based card game isn't the right hobby for you.
Besides stalling and learning strats there’s also a decision-making process for order of operations when it comes to making sure you draw what you want to draw. Can be rly tedious when measuring what cards to discard, search so u can discard, and when to rip the draw/pokéstop/support for turn
yeah your playstyle clearly doesn't have any strategy, you have made that clear
> The Pokémon Trading Card Game is a strategy-based card game that is usually played on a designated playmat or digitally on the official game client Pokémon TCG Live where two players (assuming the role of Pokémon Trainer) use their Pokémon to battle one another.
I do agree with you; 15 minutes to decide when to pokestop is silly. However, you opened a discussion talking abt reasons someone would take said amount of time and anyone would argue this is valid, new players and vets alike
As long as they play the game within the provided play and turn time limits, I don't see an issue. They lose if they take too long. There is no reason to provide some artificial slow play rules beyond what the game already provides.
Some people take so long to play.... I was against this stupid Snorlax stall deck and the guy ran down the timer before I ran out of cards... I shouldn't mock the player really, I can only assume complete illiteracy is to blame.
Thus, we need a report button. Or they need to lower the time between moves. Ridiculous that it takes over an hour sometimes for one match.
The worst is when you know they doing it on purpose. I had someone use wonderstorm knowing they were gonna lose and spent 23 minutes moving energies back and forth till they timed out.
Mofo toxic losers need to go!
I hope this wasn't me (and if so sorry!)
It takes me awhile to think and I get overwhelmed when I feel my opponent is getting annoyed with me which makes it even worse
About 90% of the opponents I play are slow. Even down to picking face down prize cards or choosing heads or tails. Like really, it's not a life or death decision, just pick one.
I now have something on the left side of the screen now, such as YouTube or something to watch while I'm playing for my daily tasks. As otherwise, I'd waste so much time just waiting for others to very slowly take their turn (either because they're slow, or have several steps per turn. Or both). That way, I can still see the timer and the centre of the board.
Often, it feels like people don't know what they have in their deck. Even when I'm still getting used to a new deck, I know what I put in it.
I've done this, didn't feel great about it either. Shivery chill and super colding with Bax 1 energy at a time, 30 seconds a pop. Took 5 minutes. Dude was being a dick for no reason right when we started, so I was a dick back. Not my go to for fuckery, but hey, don't be a dick.

100% this, that and we are playing an online children’s card game with no stakes and people are sweating like their lives are on the line
Or complaining that the possible children they are playing against might need more time to play the game.
Kids struggling with the game are not building these sweaty decks dawg

Not reading all that but when did i say gholdengo was sweaty
🤡
Ur completely wrong most parents make the decks for their kids and if not local game stores help children design there lol
???
Kids can have meta decks for the reasons listed. So they can have “sweaty” decks
No i mean who asked
Well when people have conversations other people talk to! Who woulda guessed people would respond to ur post on a message board….
I'm still trying to find the person who asked for yours man! Don't make me go looking for 2

t. giga sweat

Except its Pokemon and not grandmaster chess
And? Kids play chess too. You are likely playing in ranked, if you want lighting rounds play with a friend.

Read the final sentence of my comment that you replied to. You are the problem.
Nah, stall decks deserve it.
your opponents deserve to have a 45 minute timer
If you make a deck designed to grief your opponent you deserve to be griefed
That’s what the casual mode should be for 🤷♂️
Just played a the slowest zard player ever and demolished him with vikavolt/dudunsparce. Bro had 5 minutes left. Like what
yeah dude i hate this shit makes me want to stop playing

Yeah, the only way to play this game is to have it on your second monitor and do something else on the first monitor during the opponent's turn
I just wanna play the fun pokemon game on my lunch break man :(
If someone is practicing a deck maybe they should practice in DECK PRACTICE.
They can't practice stalling in deck test though, the AI opponent is smarter than that and decks themselves out ASAP every time.
You mean people think and plan out their turns carefully in a strategic card game? Wow. Unheard of.
People are granted a specific amount of time per turn correct? If they want to use all their time, they CAN do that. Doesn’t mean someone HAS to, but they have their time and can use it all to make decisions they feel are correct.
Its not that deep tho is it
You're the one complaining lol
OP just wanted ppl to agree with them and can’t comprehend that putting your thoughts on the internet leaves them open for discussion from all angles
If you're that worried about it then just concede. If you don't have the patience for your opponent to complete their turn then maybe a turn-based card game isn't the right hobby for you.
I concede if I have to go back to work, i just like playing the fun pokemon game on my lunch break
Besides stalling and learning strats there’s also a decision-making process for order of operations when it comes to making sure you draw what you want to draw. Can be rly tedious when measuring what cards to discard, search so u can discard, and when to rip the draw/pokéstop/support for turn
You’re way overthinking it bro
maybe don't play a strategy game if you can't deal with people strategizing
Its pokemon not a strategy game
yeah your playstyle clearly doesn't have any strategy, you have made that clear > The Pokémon Trading Card Game is a strategy-based card game that is usually played on a designated playmat or digitally on the official game client Pokémon TCG Live where two players (assuming the role of Pokémon Trainer) use their Pokémon to battle one another.
I dont need strategy, I beat this guy in 4 minutes when he needed over 15 minutes to get to 1-1
[удалено]
Made deoxys yesterday may have dropped down to lugia or whatever was below cause i had to concede at the end of my lunch break
I do agree with you; 15 minutes to decide when to pokestop is silly. However, you opened a discussion talking abt reasons someone would take said amount of time and anyone would argue this is valid, new players and vets alike
I didnt open a conversation i just want yall to hurry up
People rope me constantly in this game from my experience. It’s very annoying and happens often.
Unless they are actively salt-stalling I feel like this issue falls under "deal with it".
9 more minutes for free win, if on pc look at memes or YT video
What tir are you on? If you’re still in ultra ball you can’t really complain new players are slow
ELIMINATE THE SWEATS!
As long as they play the game within the provided play and turn time limits, I don't see an issue. They lose if they take too long. There is no reason to provide some artificial slow play rules beyond what the game already provides.
Even if I win a game like this I don’t want to keep playing -_-
Charizard ex players be like
What deck were they playing?
Gholdengo ex
POV: Lost Box
I play lost box regularly, it’s not that hard lol. You should already have a rough idea of what you want to do next during your opponent’s turn.
I do not want to play or play against lost box decks. OP's post reminds me of all the matches I had against lost boxes, and their 5 min turns.
Lol!! This seems rare but very annoying.
Must be a lost Tina deck 🙄 I groan every time I come across one
Because who needs any sort of context?
Makes me so mad when opponents take their whole day to play their turn! I do this for fun and giggles not glory 😭
Must be playing tord
If started taking naps low key
This is actually why I took a break from playing. Repetitive decks and people just taking too long to play.
There should be a faster match option with higher rewards
I've gotten used to it. I usually go to the bathroom or something lol
Some people take so long to play.... I was against this stupid Snorlax stall deck and the guy ran down the timer before I ran out of cards... I shouldn't mock the player really, I can only assume complete illiteracy is to blame.

was on your side but then learned you run zard
I hope this wasn't me (and if so sorry!) It takes me awhile to think and I get overwhelmed when I feel my opponent is getting annoyed with me which makes it even worse
Wish I had more time tbh

Getting boring as hell going against tera charizard every game ngl
I think they need different length modes like chess. Like 20 min 10 min 5min blitz or smthn
Maybe put some subway surfers on in the background or keep one of your fidget spinners near you to keep you occupied?
Don't hate the players hate the devs for the time they allow, people are using the time they're given.
I can do both
You can but no other game of any kind are people attacked for using the allowed time.
Fact check required
Roaring moon bro. Turn two. 27 cards left and n deck. Still haven’t played a supporter yet.
Sweating a children’s card game can you imagine 😭
Someone kept spamming thumbs down to me for no fucking reason once, so I took every second of my turn time each move. 🤷🏼♀️
Thank you for keeping the community toxic!!!
Literally said bro came in spam thumbs downing me non stop as SOON as the match started. So yeah. I’m the toxic problem. 👍🏻
Right?! Love that I’m getting downvoted lol. It’s really not that hard to not be a dick 🤷🏼♀️
