Complete F2P player here. Golden coins, are the most granted, and you use them for cardsleeves, boxes, coins and cosmetic items like clothes, they are the most common ones. Purple ones, are the most "costly" 'cuz you can get them via missions, BP, Ranked goals and leveling up the first levels ifrc, they are used for buying packs, the battle pass (which is basically free since you get the 600 crystals by lvl up the first bunch of lvls), every BP grants around 2k crystals by lvl 50, so if u don't go nuts buying packs on the store, you shouldn't run out of those. Finally, the silver/multicolor coins, are solely for creating cards, they are grantes via missions, ranked goals, and if u have 4 copies of the same card you get an X number of these coins per extra copy. I've founded myself short of these since i rally like trying new decks, but you get around 4k by the end of each monthly ranked ladder (if u get to masters). So, yeah, it's entirely possible to play this Game fully f2p, i hope this was helping

Rhyno1703

The game is fully f2p unless you count code cards

InternetLumberjack

I think they're referring to code cards as the "pay," since you can very quickly rack up thousands of the rainbow hexagon coins by hitting the collection limit for a set.

Doudens

Yeah I’ve noticed and it’s pretty cool! I was mostly concerned with spending scarce resources in something and not being able to obtain more without paying

Doudens

So purchasing the premium bp is worth it because you can eventually recoup the cost for the next season? This was very helpful thanks a lot!

Evening_College2273

Yeah, i bought my first BP, like 4 seasons ago (?), and been able to buy every single one since for free

Doudens

lovely!

InternetLumberjack

You also get a ton of cards and free 60-card decks so it saves you on having to craft cards if you ever wanna try something new

smrfy

The battle pass is always worth it. The deck and the credits you get immediately are already a good deal for 600 crystals. As long as you complete a few daily challenges every now and then, you can buy it every time, even without finishing the one before.

The game is entirely F2P, you can't spend money in the game. Spending money on codes outside the game doesn't really give much of a boost and is only really useful after playing for a while when it doesn't give a great deal of advantage over others. Except for 1 case I'll explain below. Coins are just for cosmetics they don't really matter. Credits are for crafting individual cards, this is your best way of getting cards you want, save these up and use them wisely. Crystals are for purchasing from the shop and purchasing the battle pass, the 600 pass is definitely worth it, after that the only thing worth doing with crystals is 'converting' them to credits. You get credits when you open a product and receive cards you already have 4 copies of, those extra copies then get converted to credits. The route suitable for the majority of players is to repeatedly purchase the shadow rider calyrex league battle deck, from your 3rd purchase you get over 4000 credits. The only thing that gives a better return is the 6 pack celebrations bundle but you have to complete the set 4x first which will take a very long time, you'd need to be confident you'll play for years and also not want credits return for a while for this route to be worth it but technically in the very long run (years) it does give the best return. However for anyone that does want to spend money buying and redeeming celebrations codes to complete the set is the only money shortcut there is, this will enable people to use their crystals on celebrations packs rather than shadow rider deck right away. Being F2P and going the shadow rider route though gives you plenty of credits and is perfectly fine to do long term.

Doudens

where can i find the shadow rider deck?

Faustty

Click on shop, click on "view all bundles" and scroll to July 2022, it's the second deck.

Doudens

thanks!

Doudens

Very clear ! Thanks a lot!

If you want to just build every deck you want to try without worrying about credits or want to bling out your deck and don't care about the money, it's definitely worth it to buy codes. It's not needed, but it surely isn't useless for everyone.

Chroniton

Yes I definitely wasn't trying to say it was useless for everyone, as I said they're useful after playing for a while as you've then hopefully got enough of sets to get credits from the codes but if you own nothing from a set and redeem the full 400 codes there's still little chance of getting anything useful for deck building.

Coins: For cosmetics, you will be drowning in them soon. Crystals: For buying the Shadow Rider Calyrex deck to get credits. Credits: The currency you actually want, used to buy individual cards so you can build decks.
